1 ख़ुदावन्द की हम्द करो ऐ मेरी जान, ख़ुदावन्द की हम्द कर!

Halleluyah ·praise Yah·! Praise Adonai, my soul.

2 मैं उम्र भर ख़ुदावन्द की हम्द करूँगा, जब तक मेरा वुजूद है मैं अपने ख़ुदा की मदहसराई करूँगा।

While I live, I will praise Adonai. I will sing zahmar ·musical praise· to my God as long as I exist.

3 न उमरा पर भरोसा करो न आदमज़ाद पर, वह बचा नहीं सकता।

Don’t put your trust in princes, each a son of man in whom there is no help.

4 उसका दम निकल जाता है तो वह मिट्टी में मिल जाता है; उसी दिन उसके मन्सूबे फ़ना हो जाते हैं।

His spirit departs, and he teshuvah ·completely returns· to the earth. In that very day, his thoughts perish.

5 खु़श नसीब है वह, जिसका मददगार या'क़ूब का ख़ुदा है, और जिसकी उम्मीद ख़ुदावन्द उसके ख़ुदा से है।

Happy is he who has the God of Jacob [Supplanter] for his help, whose hope is in Adonai, his God:

6 जिसने आसमान और ज़मीन और समन्दर को, और जो कुछ उनमें है बनाया; जो सच्चाई को हमेशा क़ाईम रखता है।

who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever;

7 जो मज़लूमों का इन्साफ़ करता है; जो भूकों को खाना देता है। ख़ुदावन्द कैदियों को आज़ाद करता है;

who executes mishpat ·justice· for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. Adonai frees the prisoners.

8 ख़ुदावन्द अन्धों की आँखें खोलता है; ख़ुदावन्द झुके हुए को उठा खड़ा करता है; ख़ुदावन्द सादिक़ों से मुहब्बत रखता है।

Adonai opens the eyes of the blind. Adonai raises up those who are bowed down. Adonai 'ahav ·affectionately loves· the upright.

9 ख़ुदावन्द परदेसियों की हिफ़ाज़त करता है; वह यतीम और बेवा को संभालता है; लेकिन शरीरों की राह टेढ़ी कर देता है।

Adonai preserves the foreigners. He upholds the fatherless and widow, but the way of the wicked he turns upside down.

10 ख़ुदावन्द, हमेशा तक सल्तनत करेगा, ऐ सिय्यून! तेरा ख़ुदा नसल दर नसल। ख़ुदावन्द की हम्द करो!

Adonai will reign forever; your God, O Zion [Mountain ridge, Marking], to all generations. Halleluyah ·praise Yah·!
