1 ऐ ख़ुदावन्द! मैंने गहराओ में से तेरे सामने फ़रियाद की है!

A Song of Ascents. Out of the depths, have I cried unto thee, O Yahweh.

2 ऐ ख़ुदावन्द! मेरी आवाज़ सुन ले! मेरी इल्तिजा की आवाज़ पर, तेरे कान लगे रहें।

O My Lord! hearken thou unto my voice, —Let thine ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications,

3 ऐ ख़ुदावन्द! अगर तू बदकारी को हिसाब में लाए, तो ऐ ख़ुदावन्द कौन क़ाईम रह सकेगा?

If, iniquities, thou shouldest mark, O Yah, O My Lord, who could stand?

4 लेकिन मग़फ़िरत तेरे हाथ में है, ताकि लोग तुझ से डरें।

But, with thee, is forgiveness, that thou mayest be revered.

5 मैं ख़ुदावन्द का इन्तिज़ार करता हूँ। मेरी जान मुन्तज़िर है, और मुझे उसके कलाम पर भरोसा है।

I have waited for Yahweh, My soul hath waited for his word;

6 सुबह का इन्तिज़ार करने वालों से ज़्यादा, हाँ, सुबह का इन्तिज़ार करने वालों से कहीं ज़्यादा, मेरी जान ख़ुदावन्द की मुन्तज़िर है।

I have hoped, O my soul, for My Lord, more than they who watch for the morning, who watch for the morning.

7 ऐ इस्राईल! ख़ुदावन्द पर भरोसा कर; क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द के हाथ में शफ़क़त है, उसी के हाथ में फ़िदिए की कसरत है।

Wait, O Israel, for Yahweh, —for, with Yahweh, is lovingkindness, and there aboundeth with him—redemption.

8 और वही इस्राईल का फ़िदिया देकर, उसको सारी बदकारी से छुड़ाएगा।

He, therefore, will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.
