ज़बूर 129

1 इस्राईल अब यूँ कहे, “उन्होंने मेरी जवानी से अब तक मुझे बार बार सताया,

Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth, may Israel now say:

2 हाँ, उन्होंने मेरी जवानी से अब तक मुझे बार बार सताया, तोभी वह मुझ पर ग़ालिब न आए।

Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth: yet they have not prevailed against me.

3 हलवाहों ने मेरी पीठ पर हल चलाया, और लम्बी लम्बी रेघारियाँ बनाई।”

The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows.

4 ख़ुदावन्द सादिक़ है; उसने शरीरों की रसियाँ काट डालीं।

The LORD is righteous: he has cut asunder the cords of the wicked.

5 सिय्यून से नफ़रत रखने वाले, सब शर्मिन्दा और पस्पा हों।

Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.

6 वह छत पर की घास की तरह हों, जो बढ़ने से पहले ही सूख जाती है;

Let them be as the grass upon the housetops, which withers before it grows up:

7 जिससे फ़सल काटने वाला अपनी मुट्ठी को, और पूले बाँधने वाला अपने दामन को नहीं भरता,

Wherewith the mower fills not his hand; nor he that binds sheaves his bosom.

8 न आने जाने वाले यह कहते हैं, “तुम पर ख़ुदावन्द की बरकत हो! हम ख़ुदावन्द के नाम से तुम को दुआ देते हैं!”

Neither do they which go by say, The blessing of the LORD be upon you: we bless you in the name of the LORD.
