ज़बूर 124

1 अब इस्राईल यूँ कहे, अगर ख़ुदावन्द हमारी तरफ़ न होता,

A SONG OF THE ASCENTS. BY DAVID. If YHWH had not been for us (Pray, let Israel say),

2 अगर ख़ुदावन्द उस वक़्त हमारी तरफ़ न होता, जब लोग हमारे ख़िलाफ़ उठे,

If YHWH had not been for us, In the rising up of man against us,

3 तो जब उनका क़हर हम पर भड़का था, वह हम को ज़िन्दा ही निगल जाते।

Then they had swallowed us alive, In the burning of their anger against us,

4 उस वक़्त पानी हम को डुबो देता, और सैलाब हमारी जान पर से गुज़र जाता।

Then the waters had overflowed us, The stream passed over our soul,

5 उस वक़्त मौजज़न, पानी हमारी जान पर से गुज़र जाता।

Then proud waters had passed over our soul.

6 ख़ुदावन्द मुबारक हो, जिसने हमें उनके दाँतों का शिकार न होने दिया।

Blessed [is] YHWH who has not given us, [As] prey to their teeth.

7 हमारी जान चिड़िया की तरह चिड़ीमारों के जाल से बच निकली, जाल तो टूट गया और हम बच निकले।

Our soul has escaped as a bird from a snare of fowlers, The snare was broken, and we have escaped.

8 हमारी मदद ख़ुदावन्द के नाम से है, जिसने आसमान और ज़मीन को बनाया।

Our help [is] in the Name of YHWH, Maker of the heavens and earth!
