मत्ती 9
1 फिर वो नाव पर चढ़ कर पार गया; और अपने शहर में आया।
And going on board the ship, he passed over and came to his own city.
2 और देखो, लोग एक फ़ालिज के मारे हुए को जो चारपाई पर पड़ा हुआ था उसके पास लाए; ईसा ने उसका ईमान देखकर मफ़्लूज से कहा “बेटा, इत्मीनान रख। तेरे गुनाह मुआफ़ हुए।”
And behold, they brought to him a paralytic, laid upon a bed; and Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, Be of good courage, child; thy sins are forgiven.
3 और देखो कुछ आलिमों ने अपने दिल में कहा, “ये कुफ़्र बकता है”
And behold, certain of the scribes said to themselves, This [man] blasphemes.
4 ईसा ने उनके ख़याल मा'लूम करके कहा, “तुम क्यूँ अपने दिल में बुरे ख़याल लाते हो?
And Jesus, seeing their thoughts, said, Why do ye think evil things in your hearts?
5 आसान क्या है? ये कहना तेरे गुनाह मु'आफ़ हुए; या ये कहना; उठ और चल फिर।
For which is easier: to say, Thy sins are forgiven; or to say, Rise up and walk?
6 लेकिन इसलिए कि तुम जान लो कि इबने आदम को ज़मीन पर गुनाह मु'आफ़ करने का इख़्तियार है,” उसने फ़ालिज का मारे हुए से कहा, “उठ, अपनी चारपाई उठा और अपने घर चला जा।”
But that ye may know that the Son of man has power on earth to forgive sins, (then he says to the paralytic, ) Rise up, take up thy bed and go to thy house.
7 वो उठ कर अपने घर चला गया।
And he rose up and went to his house.
8 लोग ये देख कर डर गए; और ख़ुदा की बड़ाई करने लगे; जिसने आदमियों को ऐसा इख़्तियार बख़्शा।
But the crowds seeing [it], were in fear, and glorified God who gave such power to men.
9 ईसा ने वहाँ से आगे बढ़कर मत्ती नाम एक शख़्स को महसूल की चौकी पर बैठे देखा; और उस से कहा, “मेरे पीछे हो ले।” वो उठ कर उसके पीछे हो लिया।
And Jesus, passing on thence, saw a man sitting at the tax-office, called Matthew, and says to him, Follow me. And he rose up and followed him.
10 जब वो घर में खाना खाने बैठा; तो ऐसा हुआ कि बहुत से महसूल लेने वाले और गुनहगार आकर ईसा और उसके शागिर्दों के साथ खाना खाने बैठे।
And it came to pass, as he lay at table in the house, that behold, many tax-gatherers and sinners came and lay at table with Jesus and his disciples.
11 फ़रीसियों ने ये देख कर उसके शागिर्दों से कहा, “तुम्हारा उस्ताद महसूल लेने वालों और गुनहगारों के साथ क्यूँ खाता है?”
And the Pharisees seeing [it], said to his disciples, Why does your teacher eat with tax-gatherers and sinners?
12 उसने ये सुनकर कहा, “तन्दरुस्तों को हकीम की ज़रुरत नहीं बल्कि बीमारों को।
But [Jesus] hearing it, said, They that are strong have not need of a physician, but those that are ill.
13 मगर तुम जाकर उसके मा'ने मा'लूम करो: मैं क़ुर्बानी नहीं बल्कि रहम पसन्द करता हूँ। क्यूँकि मैं रास्तबाज़ों को नहीं बल्कि गुनाहगारों को बुलाने आया हूँ।”
But go and learn what [that] is — I will have mercy and not sacrifice; for I have not come to call righteous [men] but sinners.
14 उस वक़्त यूहन्ना के शागिर्दों ने उसके पास आकर कहा, “क्या वजह है कि हम और फ़रीसी तो अक्सर रोज़ा रखते हैं, और तेरे शागिर्द रोज़ा नहीं रखते?”
Then come to him the disciples of John, saying, Why do we and the Pharisees often fast, but thy disciples fast not?
15 ईसा ने उस से कहा, “क्या बाराती जब तक दुल्हा उनके साथ है, मातम कर सकते हैं? मगर वो दिन आएँगे; कि दुल्हा उनसे जुदा किया जाएगा; उस वक़्त वो रोज़ा रखेंगे।
And Jesus said to them, Can the sons of the bridechamber mourn so long as the bridegroom is with them? But days will come when the bridegroom will have been taken away from them, and then they will fast.
16 कोरे कपड़े का पैवन्द पुरानी पोशाक में कोई नहीं लगाता क्यूँकि वो पैवन्द पोशाक में से कुछ खींच लेता है और वो ज़्यादा फट जाती है।
But no one puts a patch of new cloth on an old garment, for its filling up takes from the garment and a worse rent takes place.
17 और नई मय पुरानी मश्कों में नहीं भरते वर्ना मश्कें फट जाती हैं; और मय बह जाती है, और मश्कें बरबाद हो जाती हैं; बल्कि नई मय नई मश्कों में भरते हैं; और वो दोनों बची रहती हैं।”
Nor do men put new wine into old skins, otherwise the skins burst and the wine is poured out, and the skins will be destroyed; but they put new wine into new skins, and both are preserved together.
18 वो उन से ये बातें कह ही रहा था, कि देखो एक सरदार ने आकर उसे सज्दा किया और कहा, “मेरी बेटी अभी मरी है लेकिन तू चलकर अपना हाथ उस पर रख तो वो ज़िन्दा हो जाएगी।”
As he spoke these things to them, behold, a ruler coming in did homage to him, saying, My daughter has by this died; but come and lay thy hand upon her and she shall live.
19 ईसा उठ कर अपने शागिर्दों समेत उस के पीछे हो लिया।
And Jesus rose up and followed him, and [so did] his disciples.
20 और देखो; एक 'औरत ने जिसके बारह बरस से ख़ून जारी था; उसके पीछे आकर उस की पोशाक का किनारा छुआ।
And behold, a woman, who had had a bloody flux [for] twelve years, came behind and touched the hem of his garment;
21 क्यूँकि वो अपने जी में कहती थी; अगर सिर्फ़ उसकी पोशाक ही छू लूँगी “तो अच्छी हो जाऊँगी।”
for she said within herself, If I should only touch his garment I shall be healed.
22 ईसा ने फिर कर उसे देखा और कहा, “बेटी, इत्मीनान रख! तेरे ईमान ने तुझे अच्छा कर दिया।” पस वो 'औरत उसी घड़ी अच्छी हो गई।
But Jesus turning and seeing her, said, Be of good courage, daughter; thy faith has healed thee. And the woman was healed from that hour.
23 जब ईसा सरदार के घर में आया और बाँसुरी बजाने वालों को और भीड़ को शोर मचाते देखा।
And when Jesus was come to the house of the ruler, and saw the flute-players and the crowd making a tumult,
24 तो कहा, “हट जाओ! क्यूँकि लड़की मरी नहीं बल्कि सोती है।” वो उस पर हँसने लगे।
he said, Withdraw, for the damsel is not dead, but sleeps. And they derided him.
25 मगर जब भीड़ निकाल दी गई तो उस ने अन्दर जाकर उसका हाथ पकड़ा और लड़की उठी।
But when the crowd had been put out, he went in and took her hand; and the damsel rose up.
26 और इस बात की शोहरत उस तमाम इलाक़े में फैल गई।
And the fame of it went out into all that land.
27 जब ईसा वहाँ से आगे बढ़ा तो दो अन्धे उसके पीछे ये पुकारते हुए चले “ऐ इब्न — ए — दाऊद, हम पर रहम कर।”
And as Jesus passed on thence, two blind [men] followed him, crying and saying, Have mercy on us, Son of David.
28 जब वो घर में पहुँचा तो वो अन्धे उसके पास आए और 'ईसा ने उनसे कहा “क्या तुम को यक़ीन है कि मैं ये कर सकता हूँ?” उन्हों ने उस से कहा “हाँ ख़ुदावन्द।”
And when he was come to the house, the blind [men] came to him. And Jesus says to them, Do ye believe that I am able to do this? They say to him, Yea, Lord.
29 फिर उस ने उन की आँखें छू कर कहा, “तुम्हारे यक़ीन के मुताबिक़ तुम्हारे लिए हो।”
Then he touched their eyes, saying, According to your faith, be it unto you.
30 और उन की आँखें खुल गईं और ईसा ने उनको ताकीद करके कहा, “ख़बरदार, कोई इस बात को न जाने!”
And their eyes were opened; and Jesus charged them sharply, saying, See, let no man know it.
31 मगर उन्होंने निकल कर उस तमाम इलाक़े में उसकी शोहरत फैला दी।
But they, when they were gone out, spread his name abroad in all that land.
32 जब वो बाहर जा रहे थे, तो देखो लोग एक गूँगे को जिस में बदरूह थी उसके पास लाए।
But as these were going out, behold, they brought to him a dumb man possessed by a demon.
33 और जब वो बदरूह निकाल दी गई तो गूँगा बोलने लगा; और लोगों ने ता'अज्जुब करके कहा, “इस्राईल में ऐसा कभी नहीं देखा गया।”
And the demon having been cast out, the dumb spake. And the crowds were astonished, saying, It has never been seen thus in Israel.
34 मगर फ़रीसियों ने कहा, “ये तो बदरूहों के सरदार की मदद से बदरूहों को निकालता है।”
But the Pharisees said, He casts out the demons through the prince of the demons.
35 ईसा सब शहरों और गाँव में फिरता रहा, और उनके इबादतख़ानों में ता'लीम देता और बादशाही की ख़ुशख़बरी का एलान करता और — और हर तरह की बीमारी और हर तरह की कमज़ोरी दूर करता रहा।
And Jesus went round all the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the glad tidings of the kingdom, and healing every disease and every bodily weakness.
36 और जब उसने भीड़ को देखा तो उस को लोगों पर तरस आया; क्यूँकि वो उन भेड़ों की तरह थे जिनका चरवाहा न हो बुरी हालत में पड़े थे।
But when he saw the crowds he was moved with compassion for them, because they were harassed, and cast away as sheep not having a shepherd.
37 उस ने अपने शागिर्दों से कहा, “फ़सल बहुत है, लेकिन मज़दूर थोड़े हैं।
Then saith he to his disciples, The harvest [is] great and the workmen [are] few;
38 पस फ़सल के मालिक से मिन्नत करो कि वो अपनी फ़सल काटने के लिए मज़दूर भेज दे।”
supplicate therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he send forth workmen unto his harvest.
