मत्ती 22
1 और ईसा फिर उनसे मिसालों में कहने लगा,
And responding, Jesus again spoke to them in parables, saying:
2 “आस्मान की बादशाही उस बादशाह की तरह है जिस ने अपने बेटे की शादी की।
“The kingdom of heaven is like a man who was king, who celebrated a wedding for his son.
3 और अपने नौकरों को भेजा कि बुलाए हुओं को शादी में बुला लाएँ, मगर उन्होंने आना न चाहा।
And he sent his servants to call those who were invited to the wedding. But they were not willing to come.
4 फिर उस ने और नौकरों को ये कह कर भेजा, ‘बुलाए हुओं से कहो: देखो, मैंने ज़ियाफ़त तैयार कर ली है, मेरे बैल और मोटे मोटे जानवर ज़बह हो चुके हैं और सब कुछ तैयार है; शादी में आओ।’
Again, he sent other servants, saying, ‘Tell the invited: Behold, I have prepared my meal. My bulls and fatlings have been killed, and all is ready. Come to the wedding.’
5 मगर वो बे परवाई करके चल दिए; कोई अपने खेत को, कोई अपनी सौदागरी को।
But they ignored this and they went away: one to his country estate, and another to his business.
6 और बाक़ियों ने उसके नौकरों को पकड़ कर बे'इज़्ज़त किया और मार डाला।
Yet truly, the rest took hold of his servants and, having treated them with contempt, killed them.
7 बादशाह ग़ज़बनाक हुआ और उसने अपना लश्कर भेजकर उन ख़ूनियों को हलाक कर दिया, और उन का शहर जला दिया।
But when the king heard this, he was angry. And sending out his armies, he destroyed those murderers, and he burned their city.
8 तब उस ने अपने नौकरों से कहा, शादी का खाना तो तैयार है ‘मगर बुलाए हुए लायक़ न थे।
Then he said to his servants: ‘The wedding, indeed, has been prepared. But those who were invited were not worthy.
9 पस रास्तों के नाकों पर जाओ, और जितने तुम्हें मिलें शादी में बुला लाओ।’
Therefore, go out to the ways, and call whomever you will find to the wedding.’
10 और वो नौकर बाहर रास्तों पर जा कर, जो उन्हें मिले क्या बूरे क्या भले सब को जमा कर लाए और शादी की महफ़िल मेहमानों से भर गई।”
And his servants, departing into the ways, gathered all those whom they found, bad and good, and the wedding was filled with guests.
11 “जब बादशाह मेहमानों को देखने को अन्दर आया, तो उसने वहाँ एक आदमी को देखा, जो शादी के लिबास में न था।
Then the king entered to see the guests. And he saw a man there who was not clothed in a wedding garment.
12 उसने उससे कहा‘मियाँ तू शादी की पोशाक पहने बग़ैर यहाँ क्यूँ कर आ गया?’ लेकिन उस का मुँह बन्द हो गया।
And he said to him, ‘Friend, how is it that you have entered here without having a wedding garment?’ But he was dumbstruck.
13 इस पर बादशाह ने ख़ादिमों से कहा ‘उस के हाथ पाँव बाँध कर बाहर अंधेरे में डाल दो, वहाँ रोना और दाँत पीसना होगा।’
Then the king said to the ministers: ‘Bind his hands and feet, and cast him into the outer darkness, where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
14 क्यूँकि बुलाए हुए बहुत हैं, मगर चुने हुए थोड़े।”
For many are called, but few are chosen.’”
15 उस वक़्त फ़रीसियों ने जा कर मशवरा किया कि उसे क्यूँ कर बातों में फँसाएँ।
Then the Pharisees, going out, took counsel as to how they might entrap him in speech.
16 पस उन्होंने अपने शागिर्दों को हेरोदियों के साथ उस के पास भेजा, और उन्होंने कहा “ऐ उस्ताद हम जानते हैं कि तू सच्चा है और सच्चाई से ख़ुदा की राह की तालीम देता है। और किसी की परवाह नहीं करता क्यूँकि तू किसी आदमी का तरफ़दार नहीं।
And they sent their disciples to him, with the Herodians, saying: “Teacher, we know that you are truthful, and that you teach the way of God in truth, and that the influence of others is nothing to you. For you do not consider the reputation of men.
17 पस हमें बता तू क्या समझता है? क़ैसर को जिज़िया देना जायज़ है या नहीं?”
Therefore, tell us, how does it seem to you? Is it lawful to pay the census tax to Caesar, or not?”
18 ईसा ने उन की शरारत जान कर कहा, “ऐ रियाकारो, मुझे क्यूँ आज़माते हो?
But Jesus, knowing their wickedness, said: “Why do you test me, you hypocrites?
19 जिज़िए का सिक्का मुझे दिखाओ वो एक दीनार उस के पास लाए।”
Show me the coin of the census tax.” And they offered him a denarius.
20 उसने उनसे कहा “ये सूरत और नाम किसका है?”
And Jesus said to them, “Whose image is this, and whose inscription?”
21 उन्होंने उससे कहा, “क़ैसर का।” उस ने उनसे कहा, “पस जो क़ैसर का है क़ैसर को और जो ख़ुदा का है ख़ुदा को अदा करो।”
They said to him, “Caesar’s.” Then he said to them, “Then render to Caesar what is of Caesar; and to God what is of God.”
22 उन्होंने ये सुनकर ता'अज्जुब किया, और उसे छोड़ कर चले गए।
And hearing this, they wondered. And having left him behind, they went away.
23 उसी दिन सदूक़ी जो कहते हैं कि क़यामत नहीं होगी उसके पास आए, और उससे ये सवाल किया।
In that day, the Sadducees, who say there is to be no resurrection, approached him. And they questioned him,
24 “ऐ उस्ताद, मूसा ने कहा था, कि अगर कोई बे औलाद मर जाए, तो उसका भाई उसकी बीवी से शादी कर ले, और अपने भाई के लिए नस्ल पैदा करे।
saying: “Teacher, Moses said: If anyone will have died, having no son, his brother shall marry his wife, and he shall raise up offspring to his brother.
25 अब हमारे दर्मियान सात भाई थे, और पहला शादी करके मर गया; और इस वजह से कि उसके औलाद न थी, अपनी बीवी अपने भाई के लिए छोड़ गया।
Now there were seven brothers with us. And the first, having taken a wife, died. And having no offspring, he left his wife to his brother:
26 इसी तरह दूसरा और तीसरा भी सातवें तक।
similarly with the second, and the third, even to the seventh.
27 सब के बाद वो 'औरत भी मर गई।
And last of all, the woman also passed away.
28 पस वो क़यामत में उन सातों में से किसकी बीवी होगी? क्यूँकि सब ने उससे शादी की थी।”
In the resurrection, then, whose wife of the seven will she be? For they all had her.”
29 ईसा' ने जवाब में उनसे कहा, “तुम गुमराह हो; इसलिए कि न किताबे मुक़द्दस को जानते हो न ख़ुदा की क़ुदरत को।
But Jesus responded to them by saying: “You have gone astray by knowing neither the Scriptures, nor the power of God.
30 क्यूँकि क़यामत में शादी बारात न होगी; बल्कि लोग आसमान पर फ़रिश्तों की तरह होंगे।
For in the resurrection, they shall neither marry, nor be given in marriage. Instead, they shall be like the Angels of God in heaven.
31 मगर मुर्दों के जी उठने के बारे में ख़ुदा ने तुम्हें फ़रमाया था, क्या तुम ने वो नहीं पढ़ा?
But concerning the resurrection of the dead, have you not read what was spoken by God, saying to you:
32 मैं इब्राहीम का ख़ुदा, और इज़्हाक़ का ख़ुदा और याक़ूब का ख़ुदा हूँ? वो तो मुर्दों का ख़ुदा नहीं बल्कि ज़िन्दों का ख़ुदा है।”
‘I am the God of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob?’ He is not the God of the dead, but of the living.”
33 लोग ये सुन कर उसकी ता'लीम से हैरान हुए।
And when the crowds heard this, they wondered at his doctrine.
34 जब फ़रीसियों ने सुना कि उसने सदूक़ियों का मुँह बन्द कर दिया, तो वो जमा हो गए।
But the Pharisees, hearing that he had caused the Sadducees to be silent, came together as one.
35 और उन में से एक आलिम — ऐ शरा ने आज़माने के लिए उससे पूछा;
And one of them, a doctor of the law, questioned him, to test him:
36 “ऐ उस्ताद, तौरेत में कौन सा हुक्म बड़ा है?”
“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the law?”
37 उसने उस से कहा “ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा से अपने सारे दिल, और अपनी सारी जान और अपनी सारी अक़्ल से मुहब्बत रख।
Jesus said to him: “‘You shall love the Lord your God from all your heart, and with all your soul and with all your mind.’
38 बड़ा और पहला हुक्म यही है।
This is the greatest and first commandment.
39 और दूसरा इसकी तरह ये है कि ‘अपने पड़ोसी से अपने बराबर मुहब्बत रख।’
But the second is similar to it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
40 इन्ही दो हुक्मों पर तमाम तौरेत और अम्बिया के सहीफ़ों का मदार है।”
On these two commandments the entire law depends, and also the prophets.”
41 जब फ़रीसी जमा हुए तो ईसा ने उनसे ये पूछा;
Then, when the Pharisees were gathered together, Jesus questioned them,
42 “तुम मसीह के हक़ में क्या समझते हो? वो किसका बेटा है” उन्होंने उससे कहा “दाऊद का।”
saying: “What do you think about the Christ? Whose son is he?” They said to him, “David’s.”
43 उसने उनसे कहा, “पस दाऊद रूह की हिदायत से क्यूँकर उसे ख़ुदावन्द कहता है,
He said to them: “Then how can David, in the Spirit, call him Lord, saying:
44 ‘ख़ुदावन्द ने मेरे ख़ुदावन्द से कहा, मेरी दहनी तरफ़ बैठ, जब तक में तेरे दुश्मनों को तेरे पाँव के नीचे न कर दूँ’।
‘The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at my right hand, until I make your enemies your footstool?’
45 पस जब दाऊद उसको ख़ुदावन्द कहता है तो वो उसका बेटा क्यूँकर ठहरा?”
So then, if David calls him Lord, how can he be his son?”
46 कोई उसके जवाब में एक हर्फ़ न कह सका, और न उस दिन से फिर किसी ने उससे सवाल करने की जुरअत की।
And no one was able to respond to him a word. And neither did anyone dare, from that day forward, to question him.
