लूका 1
1 चूँकि बहुतों ने इस पर कमर बाँधी है कि जो बातें हमारे दरमियान वाक़े' हुईं उनको सिलसिलावार बयान करें।
SINCE many have attempted to compose a narrative of facts, confirmed to us by the fullest evidence:
2 जैसा कि उन्होंने जो शुरू' से ख़ुद देखने वाले और कलाम के ख़ादिम थे उनको हम तक पहुँचाया।
exactly as they delivered them to us, who were eve witnesses from the first, and ministers of the word;
3 इसलिए ऐ मु'अज़्ज़िज़ थियुफ़िलुस! मैंने भी मुनासिब जाना कि सब बातों का सिलसिला शुरू' से ठीक — ठीक मालूम करके उनको तेरे लिए तरतीब से लिखूँ।
it seemed right to me also, having obtained accurate knowledge of all things from above, to write to thee in regular order, most excellent Theophilus,
4 ताकि जिन बातों की तूने तालीम पाई है उनकी पुख़्तगी तुझे मालूम हो जाए।
to the intent that thou mayest clearly know the certainty of those matters, concerning which thou hast been instructed.
5 यहूदिया के बादशाह हेरोदेस के ज़माने में अबिय्याह के फ़रीके में से ज़करियाह नाम एक काहिन था और उसकी बीवी हारून की औलाद में से थी और उसका नाम इलीशिबा 'था।
There was in the days of Herod, the king of Judea, a certain priest named Zacharias, of the course of Abiah: and his wife of the daughters of Aaron, and her name Elisabeth.
6 और वो दोनों ख़ुदा के सामने रास्तबाज़ और ख़ुदावन्द के सब अहकाम — ओ — क़वानीन पर बे — 'ऐब चलने वाले थे।
And they were both righteous before God, walking in all the commandments and ordinances of the Lord blameless.
7 और उनके औलाद न थी क्यूँकि इलीशिबा' बाँझ थी और दोनों उम्र रसीदा थे।
And they had no child, because Elizabeth was barren, and both were far advanced in years.
8 जब वो ख़ुदा के हुज़ूर अपने फ़रीके की बारी पर इमामत का काम अन्जाम देता था तो ऐसा हुआ,
And it came to pass, as he discharged his priestly office in the order of his periodical ministration before God,
9 कि इमामत के दस्तूर के मुवाफ़िक़ उसके नाम की पर्ची निकली कि ख़ुदावन्द के हुज़ूरी में जाकर ख़ुशबू जलाए।
according to the custom of the priesthood, it fell to his lot to burn the incense when he went into the temple of the Lord.
10 और लोगों की सारी जमा 'अत ख़ुशबू जलाते वक़्त बाहर दुआ कर रही थी।
And all the multitude of people was praying without, at the time of the burning the incense.
11 अचानक ख़ुदा का एक फ़रिश्ता ज़ाहिर हुआ जो ख़ुशबू जलाने की क़ुर्बानगाह के दहनी तरफ़ खड़ा हुआ उसको दिखाई दिया।
And an angel of the Lord appeared to him standing on the right side of the altar of incense.
12 उसे देख कर ज़करियाह घबराया और बहुत डर गया।
And Zacharias was agitated greatly at the sight, and fear fell upon him.
13 लेकिन फ़रिश्ते ने उस से कहा, ज़करियाह, मत डर! ख़ुदा ने तेरी दुआ सुन ली है। तेरी बीवी इलीशिबा के बेटा होगा। उस का नाम युहन्ना रखना।
But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bring thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.
14 वह न सिर्फ़ तेरे लिए ख़ुशी और मुसर्रत का बाइस होगा, बल्कि बहुत से लोग उस की पैदाइश पर ख़ुशी मनाएँगे।
And it shall give thee joy and exultation; and many shall rejoice at his birth:
15 क्यूँकि वह ख़ुदा के नज़दीक अज़ीम होगा। ज़रूरी है कि वह मय और शराब से परहेज़ करे। वह पैदा होने से पहले ही रूह — उल — क़ुद्दूस से भरपूर होगा।
for he shall be great in the sight of the Lord; and he shall never drink wine, nor any intoxicating liquor; and he shall be filled with the Holy Ghost, even from his mother’s womb.
16 और इस्राईली क़ौम में से बहुतों को ख़ुदा उन के ख़ुदा के पास वापस लाएगा।
And many of the children of Israel shall he turn unto the Lord, their God.
17 वह एलियाह की रूह और क़ुव्वत से ख़ुदावन्द के आगे आगे चलेगा। उस की ख़िदमत से वालिदों के दिल अपने बच्चों की तरफ़ माइल हो जाएँगे और नाफ़रमान लोग रास्तबाज़ों की अक़्लमन्दी की तरफ़ फिरेंगे। यूँ वह इस क़ौम को ख़ुदा के लिए तय्यार करेगा।”
And he shall go forth before him in the spirit and power of Elias, to convert the hearts of fathers with their children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just; to prepare a people ready for the Lord.
18 ज़करियाह ने फ़रिश्ते से पूछा, “मैं किस तरह जानूँ कि यह बात सच है? मैं ख़ुद बूढ़ा हूँ और मेरी बीवी भी उम्र रसीदा है।”
And Zacharias said to the angel, By what shall I know this? for I am old, and my wife far advanced in her age.
19 फ़रिश्ते ने जवाब दिया, “मैं जिब्राईल हूँ जो ख़ुदावन्द के सामने खड़ा रहता हूँ। मुझे इसी मक़्सद के लिए भेजा गया है कि तुझे यह ख़ुशख़बरी सुनाऊँ।
And the angel answering said to him, I am Gabriel, that stand in the presence of God; and I have been sent to speak to thee, and to proclaim these glad tidings to thee.
20 लेकिन तूने मेरी बात का यक़ीन नहीं किया इस लिए तू ख़ामोश रहेगा और उस वक़्त तक बोल नहीं सकेगा जब तक तेरे बेटा पैदा न हो। मेरी यह बातें अपने वक़्त पर ही पूरी होंगी।”
And behold, thou shalt be dumb, and unable to speak, until that day when these things shall come to pass, because thou hast not believed my words, which shall be fulfilled at their exact time.
21 इस दौरान बाहर के लोग ज़करियाह के इन्तिज़ार में थे। वह हैरान होते जा रहे थे कि उसे वापस आने में क्यूँ इतनी देर हो रही है।
And the people were waiting for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.
22 आख़िरकार वह बाहर आया, लेकिन वह उन से बात न कर सका। तब उन्हों ने जान लिया कि उस ने ख़ुदा के घर में ख़्वाब देखा है। उस ने हाथों से इशारे तो किए, लेकिन ख़ामोश रहा।
And when he came out, he could not speak to them: and they perceived that he had seen a vision in the temple: for he himself made signs to them, and continued deaf and dumb.
23 ज़करियाह अपने वक़्त तक ख़ुदा के घर में अपनी ख़िदमत अन्जाम देता रहा, फिर अपने घर वापस चला गया।
And it came to pass, when the days of his ministry were fulfilled, he went to his own house.
24 थोड़े दिनों के बाद उस की बीवी इलीशिबा हामिला हो गई और वह पाँच माह तक घर में छुपी रही।
And after those days Elisabeth his wife conceived, and kept herself in retirement five months, saying,
25 उस ने कहा, “ख़ुदावन्द ने मेरे लिए कितना बड़ा काम किया है, क्यूँकि अब उस ने मेरी फ़िक्र की और लोगों के सामने से मेरी रुस्वाई दूर कर दी।”
Thus hath the Lord dealt with me in the days in which he looked upon me to take away my reproach among men.
26 इलीशिबा छः माह से हामिला थी जब ख़ुदा ने जिब्राईल फ़रिश्ते को एक कुँवारी के पास भेजा जो नासरत में रहती थी। नासरत गलील का एक शहर है और कुँवारी का नाम मरियम था।
Now in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God into a city of Galilee, the name of which was Nazareth,
27 उस की मंगनी एक मर्द के साथ हो चुकी थी जो दाऊद बादशाह की नस्ल से था और जिस का नाम यूसुफ़ था।
to a virgin of the house of David, betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph; and the virgin’s name was Mary.
28 फ़रिश्ते ने उस के पास आ कर कहा, “ऐ ख़ातून जिस पर ख़ुदा का ख़ास फ़ज़ल हुआ है, सलाम! ख़ुदा तेरे साथ है।”
And the angel coming in to her said, All hail! O thou highly favoured one! the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women.
29 मरियम यह सुन कर घबरा गई और सोचा, यह किस तरह का सलाम है?
And when she saw him, she was greatly agitated at his address: and reasoned in herself what kind of salutation this could be.
30 लेकिन फ़रिश्ते ने अपनी बात जारी रखी और कहा, “ऐ मरियम, मत डर, क्यूँकि तुझ पर ख़ुदा का फ़ज़ल हुआ है।
And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary, for thou hast found favour with God.
31 तू हमिला हो कर एक बेटे को पैदा करेगी। तू उस का नाम ईसा (नजात देने वाला) रखना।
And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS.
32 वह बड़ा होगा और ख़ुदावन्द का बेटा कहलाएगा। ख़ुदा हमारा ख़ुदा उसे उस के बाप दाऊद के तख़्त पर बिठाएगा
He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God will give him the throne of David his father;
and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever, and of his kingdom there shall be no end. (aiōn g165)
34 मरियम ने फ़रिश्ते से कहा, “यह क्यूँकर हो सकता है? अभी तो मैं कुँवारी हूँ।”
And Mary said, How shall this be, seeing I know not man?
35 फ़रिश्ते ने जवाब दिया, “रूह — उल — क़ुद्दूस तुझ पर नाज़िल होगा, ख़ुदावन्द की क़ुदरत का साया तुझ पर छा जाएगा। इस लिए यह बच्चा क़ुद्दूस होगा और ख़ुदा का बेटा कहलाएगा।
And the angel answering said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Most High shall overshadow thee; wherefore also the Holy One that shall be born of thee, shall be called the Son of God.
36 और देख, तेरी रिश्तेदार इलीशिबा के भी बेटा होगा हालाँकि वह उम्ररसीद है। गरचे उसे बाँझ क़रार दिया गया था, लेकिन वह छः माह से हामिला है।
And, behold, Elisabeth thy cousin, she also hath conceived in her old age: and this is the fifth month of pregnancy with her who was called barren.
37 क्यूँकि ख़ुदा के नज़दीक कोई काम नामुमकिन नहीं है।”
For there is nothing impossible with God.
38 मरियम ने जवाब दिया, “मैं ख़ुदा की ख़िदमत के लिए हाज़िर हूँ। मेरे साथ वैसा ही हो जैसा आप ने कहा है।” इस पर फ़रिश्ता चला गया।
Then said Mary, Behold a servant of the Lord, be it to me according to thy declaration. And the angel departed from her.
39 उन दिनों में मरियम यहूदिया के पहाड़ी इलाक़े के एक शहर के लिए रवाना हुई। उस ने जल्दी जल्दी सफ़र किया।
Then Mary arose in those days, and went with haste into the hill country, to a city of Judah,
40 वहाँ पहुँच कर वह ज़करियाह के घर में दाख़िल हुई और इलीशिबा को सलाम किया।
and entered into the house of Zachariah, and saluted Elisabeth.
41 मरियम का यह सलाम सुन कर इलीशिबा का बच्चा उस के पेट में उछल पड़ा और इलीशिबा ख़ुद रूह — उल — क़ुद्दूस से भर गई।
And it came to pass, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped for joy in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost:
42 उस ने बुलन्द आवाज़ से कहा, “तू तमाम औरतों में मुबारिक़ है और मुबारिक़ है तेरा बच्चा!
and she exclaimed with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb.
43 मैं कौन हूँ कि मेरे ख़ुदावन्द की माँ मेरे पास आई!
And whence is this favour shewn me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me?
44 जैसे ही मैं ने तेरा सलाम सुना बच्चा मेरे पेट में ख़ुशी से उछल पड़ा।
For, lo! as the voice of thy salutation reached my ears, the babe leaped for joy in my womb.
45 तू कितनी मुबारिक़ है, क्यूँकि तू ईमान लाई कि जो कुछ ख़ुदा ने फ़रमाया है वह पूरा होगा।”
And blessed is she that hath believed; for there shall be a fulfilment of the things told her from the Lord.
46 इस पर मरियम ने कहा, “मेरी जान ख़ुदा की बड़ाई करती है
And Mary said, My soul doth magnify the Lord,
47 और मेरी रूह मेरे मुन्जी ख़ुदावन्द से बहुत ख़ुश है।
and my spirit hath exulted in God my Saviour:
48 क्यूँकि उस ने अपनी ख़ादिमा की पस्ती पर नज़र की है। हाँ, अब से तमाम नसलें मुझे मुबारिक़ कहेंगी,
for he hath looked upon the lowly state of his maid-servant: for, lo! henceforth shall all generations pronounce me blessed.
49 क्यूँकि उस क़ादिर ने मेरे लिए बड़े — बड़े काम किए हैं, और उसका नाम पाक है।
For the Mighty One hath done great things for me; and holy is his name.
50 और ख़ौफ़ रहम उन पर जो उससे डरते हैं, पुश्त — दर — पुश्त रहता है।
And his mercy is upon those who fear him, from generation to generation.
51 उसने अपने बाज़ू से ज़ोर दिखाया, और जो अपने आपको बड़ा समझते थे उनको तितर बितर किया।
He hath displayed strength from his arm; he hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their hearts.
52 उसने इख़्तियार वालों को तख़्त से गिरा दिया, और पस्तहालों को बुलन्द किया।
He hath cast down potentates from the throne, and hath exalted the lowly.
53 उसने भूखों को अच्छी चीज़ों से सेर कर दिया, और दौलतमन्दों को ख़ाली हाथ लौटा दिया।
He hath filled the hungry with good things; and the rich he hath sent empty away.
54 उसने अपने ख़ादिम इस्राईल को संभाल लिया, ताकि अपनी उस रहमत को याद फ़रमाए।
He hath succoured Israel his servant, that he might be mindful of mercy for ever; (aiōn g165)
as he had spoken to our fathers, to Abraham, and to his seed.
56 और मरियम तीन महीने के क़रीब उसके साथ रहकर अपने घर को लौट गई।
And Mary abode with her about three months, and returned unto her home.
57 और इलीशिबा' के वज़'ए हम्ल का वक़्त आ पहुँचा और उसके बेटा हुआ।
Now Elisabeth’s time was up that she should be delivered; and she brought a son.
58 उसके पड़ोसियों और रिश्तेदारों ने ये सुनकर कि ख़ुदावन्द ने उस पर बड़ी रहमत की, उसके साथ ख़ुशी मनाई।
And her neighbours and her relations heard, that the Lord had magnified his mercy upon her; and they congratulated her.
59 और आठवें दिन ऐसा हुआ कि वो लड़के का ख़तना करने आए और उसका नाम उसके बाप के नाम पर ज़करियाह रखने लगे।
And it came to pass, on the eighth day they came to circumcise the child; and they called him after the name of his father, Zacharias.
60 मगर उसकी माँ ने कहा, “नहीं बल्कि उसका नाम युहन्ना रखा जाए।”
And his mother spake and said, No; but he shall be called John.
61 उन्होंने कहा, “तेरे ख़ानदान में किसी का ये नाम नहीं।”
And they said to her, There is not one among thy relations, who is called by this name.
62 और उन्होंने उसके बाप को इशारा किया कि तू उसका नाम क्या रखना चाहता है?
And they made signs to his father, what he would have him called.
63 उसने तख़्ती माँग कर ये लिखा, उसका नाम युहन्ना है, और सब ने ता'ज्जुब किया।
And desiring a writing tablet, he wrote, saying, John is his name. And they were all surprised.
64 उसी दम उसका मुँह और ज़बान खुल गई और वो बोलने और ख़ुदा की हम्द करने लगा।
Instantly then his mouth was opened, and his tongue loosed, and he burst out in praises to God.
65 और उनके आसपास के सब रहने वालों पर दहशत छा गई और यहूदिया के तमाम पहाड़ी मुल्क में इन सब बातों की चर्चा फैल गई।
And great awe fell on all those who dwelt around them: and in all the mountainous country of Judea, all these circumstances were the subject of conversation.
66 और उनके सब सुनने वालों ने उनको सोच कर दिलों में कहा, “तो ये लड़का कैसा होने वाला है?” क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द का हाथ उस पर था।
And all who heard them laid them up in their hearts, saying, Well! what a child will this be! And the hand of the Lord was with him.
67 और उस का बाप ज़करियाह रूह — उल — क़ुद्दूस से भर गया और नबुव्वत की राह से कहने लगा कि:
And Zacharias his father was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied, saying,
68 “ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल के ख़ुदा की हम्द हो क्यूँकि उसने अपनी उम्मत पर तवज्जुह करके उसे छुटकारा दिया।
Blessed be the Lord the God of Israel; for he hath visited and wrought redemption for his people;
69 और अपने ख़ादिम दाऊद के घराने में हमारे लिए नजात का सींग निकाला,
and hath raised up a horn of salvation for us in the house of his servant David:
as he spake by the mouth of his holy prophets, which have been from the beginning: (aiōn g165)
71 या'नी हम को हमारे दुश्मनों से और सब बुग़्ज़ रखने वालों के हाथ से नजात बख़्शी।
even preservation from our enemies, and from the hand of all that hate us;
72 ताकि हमारे बाप — दादा पर रहम करे और अपने पाक 'अहद को याद फ़रमाए।
to perform mercy towards our fathers, and to remember his own holy covenant:
73 या'नी उस क़सम को जो उसने हमारे बाप अब्रहाम से खाई थी,
the oath which he sware to Abraham our father,
74 कि वो हमें ये बख़्शिश देगा कि अपने दुश्मनों के हाथ से छूटकर,
to give us, that we, secure from fear, rescued from the hands of our enemies, should serve him,
75 उसके सामने पाकीज़गी और रास्तबाज़ी से उम्र भर बेख़ौफ़ उसकी इबादत करें
in righteousness and holiness before him, all the days of our life.
76 और ऐ लड़के तू ख़ुदा ता'ला का नबी कहलाएगा क्यूँकि तू ख़ुदावन्द की राहें तैयार करने को उसके आगे आगे चलेगा,
And thou, child, shalt be called the prophet of the Most High; for thou shalt go before the face of the Lord to prepare his ways;
77 ताकि उसकी उम्मत को नजात का 'इल्म बख़्शे जो उनको गुनाहों की मु'आफ़ी से हासिल हो।
to give the knowledge of salvation to his people, by the remission of their sins,
78 ये हमारे ख़ुदा की रहमत से होगा; जिसकी वजह से 'आलम — ए — बाला का सूरज हम पर निकलेगा,
through the bowels of mercy of our God; with which he hath visited us, as the dawn of the morning from on high,
79 ताकि उनको जो अन्धेरे और मौत के साए में बैठे हैं रोशनी बख़्शे, और हमारे क़दमों को सलामती की राह पर डाले।”
to illumine those who sat in darkness, and in the shadow of death, to direct our feet into the way of peace.
80 और वो लड़का बढ़ता और रूह में क़ुव्वत पाता गया, और इस्राईल पर ज़ाहिर होने के दिन तक जंगलों में रहा।
And the child grew, and became mighty in spirit, and was in the deserts until the days of his public exhibition to Israel.
