लूका 23
1 फिर पूरी मज्लिस उठी और 'ईसा को पीलातुस के पास ले आई।
AND the whole multitude of them rising up, led him to Pilate,
2 और उन्होंने उस पर इल्ज़ाम लगा कर कहने लगे, “हम ने मालूम किया है कि यह आदमी हमारी क़ौम को गुमराह कर रहा है। यह क़ैसर को ख़िराज देने से मनह करता और दा'वा करता है कि मैं मसीह और बादशाह हूँ।”
and began to accuse him, saying, We have found this fellow perverting the nation, and forbidding to pay tribute to Caesar; pretending that he himself is the King Messiah.
3 पीलातुस ने उस से पूछा, “अच्छा, तुम यहूदियों के बादशाह हो?” ईसा ने जवाब दिया, जी, “आप ख़ुद कहते हैं।”
Then Pilate interrogated him, saying, Art thou the King of the Jews? And he answering said to him, Thou sayest so.
4 फिर पीलातुस ने रहनुमा इमामों और हुजूम से कहा, “मुझे इस आदमी पर इल्ज़ाम लगाने की कोई वजह नज़र नहीं आती।”
Then said Pilate unto the chief priests and the multitudes, I find nothing culpable in this man.
5 मगर वो और भी ज़ोर देकर कहने लगे कि ये तमाम यहूदिया में बल्कि गलील से लेकर यहाँ तक लोगों को सिखा सिखा कर उभारता है
But they were urgent, saying, He stirreth up the people, teaching through all Judea, beginning from Galilee even to this place.
6 यह सुन कर पीलातुस ने पूछा, “क्या यह शख़्स गलील का है?”
When Pilate heard of Galilee, he asked whether the man were a Galilean?
7 जब उसे मालूम हुआ कि ईसा गलील यानी उस इलाक़े से है, जिस पर हेरोदेस अनतिपास की हुकूमत है तो उस ने उसे हेरोदेस के पास भेज दिया, क्यूँकि वह भी उस वक़्त येरूशलेम में था।
And when he knew that he came out of Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was himself at Jerusalem in those days.
8 हेरोदेस ईसा को देख कर बहुत ख़ुश हुआ, क्यूँकि उस ने उस के बारे में बहुत कुछ सुना था, और इस लिए काफ़ी दिनों से उस से मिलना चाहता था। अब उस की बड़ी ख़्वाहिश थी, कि ईसा को कोई मोजिज़ा करते हुए देख सके।
Now when Herod saw Jesus, he was vastly delighted: for he had been long desirous to see him, because he had heard many things of him; and he hoped to see some miracle wrought by him.
9 उस ने उस से बहुत सारे सवाल किए, लेकिन ईसा ने एक का भी जवाब न दिया।
And he put a variety of questions to him; but he made him no reply.
10 रहनुमा इमाम और शरी'अत के उलमा साथ खड़े बड़े जोश से उस पर इल्ज़ाम लगाते रहे।
And the chief priests and the scribes stood up vehemently accusing him.
11 फिर हेरोदेस और उस के फ़ौजियों ने उसको ज़लील करते हुए उस का मज़ाक़ उड़ाया और उसे चमकदार लिबास पहना कर पीलातुस के पास वापस भेज दिया।
Then Herod with his guards treated him with contempt, and in derision clothed him in a splendid robe, and sent him back to Pilate.
12 उसी दिन हेरोदेस और पीलातुस दोस्त बन गए, क्यूँकि इस से पहले उन की दुश्मनी चल रही थी।
And Pilate and Herod the same day became friends together: for they had previously been at enmity with each other.
13 फिर पीलातुस ने रहनुमा इमामों, सरदारों और अवाम को जमा करके;
Then Pilate, convoking the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
14 उन से कहा, “तुम ने इस शख़्स को मेरे पास ला कर इस पर इल्ज़ाम लगाया है कि यह क़ौम को उकसा रहा है। मैं ने तुम्हारी मौजूदगी में इस का जायज़ा ले कर ऐसा कुछ नहीं पाया जो तुम्हारे इल्ज़ामात की तस्दीक़ करे।
said unto them, Ye have brought this man to me, as one who perverteth the people: and lo! on examining him before you, I have found nothing culpable in this man, respecting the charges ye bring against him:
15 हेरोदेस भी कुछ नहीं मालूम कर सका, इस लिए उस ने इसे हमारे पास वापस भेज दिया है। इस आदमी से कोई भी ऐसा गुनाह नहीं हुआ कि यह सज़ा — ए — मौत के लायक़ है।
nor Herod neither: for I referred you to him; and, lo, nothing is done to this man, as if he deserved death.
16 इस लिए मैं इसे कोड़ों की सज़ा दे कर रिहा कर देता हूँ।”
I will therefore, after scourging, discharge him.
17 [अस्ल में यह उस का फ़र्ज़ था कि वह ईद के मौक़े पर उन की ख़ातिर एक क़ैदी को रिहा कर दे]।
(Now he held it necessary to release one to them at the feast.)
18 लेकिन सब मिल कर शोर मचा कर कहने लगे, “इसे ले जाएँ! इसे नहीं बल्कि बर — अब्बा को रिहा करके हमें दें।”
Then the whole multitude set up a cry, saying, Away with this fellow, and release unto us Barabbas!
19 (बर — अब्बा को इस लिए जेल में डाला गया था कि वह क़ातिल था और उस ने शहर में हुकूमत के ख़िलाफ़ बग़ावत की थी)।
(who for a certain sedition raised in the city, and for murder, had been cast into prison.)
20 पीलातुस ईसा को रिहा करना चाहता था, इस लिए वह दुबारा उन से मुख़ातिब हुआ।
Again therefore Pilate called out to them, desirous to see Jesus at liberty.
21 लेकिन वह चिल्लाते रहे, “इसे मस्लूब करें, इसे मस्लूब करें।”
But they clamoured the more, saying, Crucify, crucify him.
22 फिर पीलातुस ने तीसरी दफ़ा उन से कहा, “क्यूँ? उस ने क्या जुर्म किया है? मुझे इसे सज़ा — ए — मौत देने की कोई वजह नज़र नहीं आती। इस लिए मैं इसे कोड़े लगवा कर रिहा कर देता हूँ।”
Then the third time he said to them, What evil hath this man done? I have found nothing deserving death in him: I will therefore, after scourging, discharge him.
23 लेकिन वह बड़ा शोर मचा कर उसे मस्लूब करने का तक़ाज़ा करते रहे, और आख़िरकार उन की आवाज़ें ग़ालिब आ गईं।
But they were instant with the most clamorous vociferations, soliciting that he might be crucified. And their clamours, and those of the chief priests, bore him down.
24 फिर पीलातुस ने फ़ैसला किया कि उन का मुतालबा पूरा किया जाए।
Then Pilate decreed that their petition should be granted.
25 उस ने उस आदमी को रिहा कर दिया जो अपनी हुकूमत के ख़िलाफ़ हरकतों और क़त्ल की वजह से जेल में डाल दिया गया था जबकि ईसा को उस ने उन की मर्ज़ी के मुताबिक़ उन के हवाले कर दिया।
Then released he to them him who for sedition and murder had been cast into prison; but he gave up Jesus to their will.
26 जब फ़ौजी ईसा को ले जा रहे थे तो उन्हों ने एक आदमी को पकड़ लिया जो लिबिया के शहर कुरेन का रहने वाला था। उस का नाम शमौन था। उस वक़्त वह देहात से शहर में दाख़िल हो रहा था। उन्हों ने सलीब को उस के कँधों पर रख कर उसे ईसा के पीछे चलने का हुक्म दिया।
And as they led him out, laying hold on one Simon, a Cyrenian, who was coming from the country, they laid on him the cross, to carry after Jesus.
27 एक बड़ा हुजूम उस के पीछे हो लिया जिस में कुछ ऐसी औरतें भी शामिल थीं जो सीना पीट पीट कर उस का मातम कर रही थीं।
And a great multitude of the people and of women followed him, who also beat their breasts and lamented him bitterly.
28 ईसा ने मुड़ कर उन से कहा, “येरूशलेम की बेटियो! मेरे वास्ते न रोओ बल्कि अपने और अपने बच्चों के वास्ते रोओ।
But Jesus turning to them, said, Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but for yourselves, and for your children.
29 क्यूँकि ऐसे दिन आएँगे जब लोग कहेंगे, मुबारिक़ हैं वह जो बाँझ हैं, जिन्हों ने न तो बच्चों को जन्म दिया, न दूध पिलाया।’
For, behold, the days are coming, in which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs which have not borne, and the breasts which never suckled.
30 फिर लोग पहाड़ों से कहने लगेंगे, हम पर गिर पड़ो, और पहाड़ियों से कि ‘हमें छुपा लो।”’
Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us! and to the hills, Cover us!
31 “क्यूँकि अगर हरे दरख़्त से ऐसा सुलूक किया जाता है तो फिर सूखे के साथ क्या कुछ न किया जाएगा?”
For if they do all these things with the green wood, what will be done with the dry?
32 दो और मर्दों को भी मस्लूब करने के लिए बाहर ले जाया जा रहा था। दोनों मुजरिम थे।
Now there were two other persons, malefactors, led out with him to be executed.
33 चलते चलते वह उस जगह पहुँचे जिस का नाम खोपड़ी था। वहाँ उन्हों ने ईसा को दोनों मुजरिमों समेत मस्लूब किया। एक मुजरिम को उस के दाएँ हाथ और दूसरे को उस के बाएँ हाथ लटका दिया गया।
And when they came to a place called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, the one on the right hand, and the other on the left.
34 ईसा ने कहा, “ऐ बाप, इन्हें मुआफ़ कर, क्यूँकि यह जानते नहीं कि क्या कर रहे हैं।” उन्हों ने पर्ची डाल कर उस के कपड़े आपस में बाँट लिए।
And Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. Then dividing his garments, they cast the lot.
35 हुजूम वहाँ खड़ा तमाशा देखता रहा जबकि क़ौम के सरदारों ने उस का मज़ाक़ भी उड़ाया। उन्हों ने कहा, “उस ने औरों को बचाया है। अगर यह ख़ुदा का चुना हुआ और मसीह है तो अपने आप को बचाए।”
And the people stood looking on. And the rulers also with them derided him, saying, He saved others; let him save himself, if this fellow is the Messiah, the elect of God.
36 फ़ौजियों ने भी उसे लान — तान की। उस के पास आ कर उन्हों ने उसे मय का सिरका पेश किया
And the soldiers also insulted him, coming and offering him vinegar,
37 और कहा, “अगर तू यहूदियों का बादशाह है तो अपने आप को बचा ले।”
and saying, if thou art the King of the Jews, save thyself.
38 उस के सर के ऊपर एक तख़्ती लगाई गई थी जिस पर लिखा था, “यह यहूदियों का बादशाह है।”
And there was an inscription written over him in Greek, Roman, and Hebrew characters, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 जो मुजरिम उस के साथ मस्लूब हुए थे उन में से एक ने कुफ़्र बकते हुए कहा, “क्या तू मसीह नहीं है? तो फिर अपने आप को और हमें भी बचा ले।
Then one of the suspended malefactors blasphemed him, saying, If thou art the Messiah, save thyself and us.
40 लेकिन दूसरे ने यह सुन कर उसे डाँटा, क्या तू ख़ुदा से भी नहीं डरता? जो सज़ा उसे दी गई है वह तुझे भी मिली है।
But the other addressing him, rebuked him, saying, Hast thou no fear of God, when thou art under the same condemnation?
41 हमारी सज़ा तो वाजिबी है, क्यूँकि हमें अपने कामों का बदला मिल रहा है, लेकिन इस ने कोई बुरा काम नहीं किया।”
And we indeed justly, for we receive deserved punishment for the crimes we have committed: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
42 फिर उस ने ईसा से कहा, “जब आप अपनी बादशाही में आएँ तो मुझे याद करें।”
And he said to Jesus, Remember me, Lord, when thou comest in thy kingdom.
43 ईसा ने उस से कहा, “मैं तुझे सच बताता हूँ कि तू आज ही मेरे साथ फ़िरदोस में होगा।”
And Jesus said to him. Verily I say unto thee, To-day thou shalt be with me in paradise.
44 बारह बजे से दोपहर तीन बजे तक पूरा मुल्क अंधेरे में डूब गया।
And it was about the sixth hour, and there was darkness over all the land until the ninth hour.
45 सूरज तारीक हो गया और बैत — उल — मुक़द्दस के पाकतरीन कमरे के सामने लटका हुआ पर्दा दो हिस्सों में फट गया।
And the sun was darkened, and the veil of the temple was rent in the midst.
46 ईसा ऊँची आवाज़ से पुकार उठा, “ऐ बाप, मैं अपनी रूह तेरे हाथों में सौंपता हूँ।” यह कह कर उस ने दम तोड़ दिया।
And Jesus crying with a loud voice, said, Father, into thy hands I commit my spirit: and having said this, he expired.
47 यह देख कर वहाँ खड़े फ़ौजी अफ़्सर ने ख़ुदा की बड़ाई करके कहा, “यह आदमी वाक़'ई रास्तबाज़ था।”
And the centurion observing what had come to pass, glorified God, saying, Verily this man was a righteous person.
48 और हुजूम के तमाम लोग जो यह तमाशा देखने के लिए जमा हुए थे यह सब कुछ देख कर छाती पीटने लगे और शहर में वापस चले गए।
And all the multitudes who had come together for this spectacle, when they saw the things which were done, beating their breasts, returned.
49 लेकिन ईसा के जानने वाले कुछ फ़ासिले पर खड़े देखते रहे। उन में वह औरतें भी शामिल थीं जो गलील में उस के पीछे चल कर यहाँ तक उस के साथ आई थीं।
And all his acquaintance stood afar off, and the women which followed him from Galilee, beholding these things.
50 वहाँ एक नेक और रास्तबाज़ आदमी बनाम यूसुफ़ था। वह यहूदी अदालत — ए — अलिया का रुकन था
And lo! a man named Joseph, being a member of the council, a good man, and a just;
51 लेकिन दूसरों के फ़ैसले और हरकतो पर रज़ामन्द नहीं हुआ था। यह आदमी यहूदिया के शहर अरिमतियाह का रहने वाला था और इस इन्तिज़ार में था कि ख़ुदा की बादशाही आए।
(who had not given his assent to their determination and deed; ) being of Arimathea, a city of the Jews: who himself also expected the coming of the kingdom of God.
52 अब उस ने पिलातुस के पास जा कर उस से ईसा की लाश ले जाने की इजाज़त माँगी।
He went in to Pilate, and begged the body of Jesus.
53 फिर लाश को उतार कर उस ने उसे कतान के कफ़न में लपेट कर चट्टान में तराशी हुई एक क़ब्र में रख दिया जिस में अब तक किसी को दफ़नाया नहीं गया था।
And taking it down from the cross, he wrapped it in linen cloth, and laid it in a sepulchre hewn out of a rock, where none had ever yet lain.
54 यह तैयारी का दिन यानी जुमआ था, लेकिन सबत का दिन शुरू होने को था।
And that was the preparation-day, and the sabbath’s twilight was approaching.
55 जो औरतें ईसा के साथ गलील से आई थीं वह यूसुफ़ के पीछे हो लीं। उन्हों ने क़ब्र को देखा और यह भी कि ईसा की लाश किस तरह उस में रखी गई है।
Then the women also, his attendants, who had followed him out of Galilee, observed the sepulchre, and how his corpse was laid out.
56 फिर वह शहर में वापस चली गईं और उस की लाश के लिए ख़ुश्बूदार मसाले तैयार करने लगीं।
And returning, they made preparation of aromatics and unguents; and they rested the sabbath-day, according to the commandment.
