अय्यू 34
1 इसके 'अलावा इलीहू ने यह भी कहा,
Furthermore Elihu responded, and said: —
2 “ऐ तुम 'अक़्लमन्द लोगों, मेरी बातें सुनो, और ऐ तुम जो अहल — ए — 'इल्म हो, मेरी तरफ़ कान लगाओ;
Hear, ye wise men, my words, and, ye who know, give ear unto me;
3 क्यूँकि कान बातों को परखता है, जैसे ज़बान' खाने को चखती है।
For, the ear, trieth words, as, the palate, tasteth in eating.
4 जो कुछ ठीक है, हम अपने लिए चुन लें, जो भला है, हम आपस में जान लें।
What is right, let us choose for ourselves, Let us know, among ourselves, what is good;
5 क्यूँकि अय्यूब ने कहा, 'मैं सादिक़ हूँ, और ख़ुदा ने मेरी हक़ तल्फ़ी की है।
For Job hath said—I am righteous, But, GOD, hath turned away my right;
6 अगरचे मैं हक़ पर हूँ, तोभी झूटा ठहरता हूँ जबकि मैं बेक़ुसूर हूँ, मेरा ज़ख़्म ला 'इलाज है।
Concerning mine own right, shall I tell a falsehood? Incurable is my disease—not for any transgression.
7 अय्यूब जैसा बहादुर कौन है, जो मज़ाक़ को पानी की तरह पी जाता है?
What man is like Job? He drinketh in scoffing like water;
8 जो बदकिरदारों की रफ़ाफ़त में चलता है, और शरीर लोगों के साथ फिरता है।
And is on the way to keep company, with the workers of iniquity, and to walk with lawless men.
9 क्यूँकि उसने कहा है, कि 'आदमी को कुछ फ़ायदा नहीं कि वह ख़ुदा में ख़ुश है।”
For he hath said, It profiteth not a man, when, his good pleasure, is with God.
10 “इसलिए ऐ अहल — ए — अक़्ल मेरी सुनो, यह हरगिज़ हो नहीं सकता कि ख़ुदा शरारत का काम करे, और क़ादिर — ए — मुतलक़ गुनाह करे।
Wherefore, ye men of mind, hearken unto me, —Far be it, that, GOD, should be lawless, or, the Almighty, be perverse!
11 वह इंसान को उसके आ'माल के मुताबिक़ बदला देगा, वह ऐसा करेगा कि हर किसी को अपनी ही राहों के मुताबिक़ बदला मिलेगा।
For, what any son of earth doeth, he repayeth him, and, according to every man’s course, he causeth him to find.
12 यक़ीनन ख़ुदा बुराई नहीं करेगा; क़ादिर — ए — मुतलक़ से बेइन्साफ़ी न होगी।
Nay, verily, GOD, will not condemn unjustly, —nor, the Almighty, pervert justice.
13 किसने उसको ज़मीन पर इख़्तियार दिया? या किसने सारी दुनिया का इन्तिज़ाम किया है?
Who set him in charge of the earth? Or who appointed [him] the whole world?
14 अगर वह इंसान से अपना दिल लगाए, अगर वह अपनी रूह और अपने दम को वापस ले ले;
If he should set against him his heart, His spirit and his inspiration, unto himself he should withdraw.
15 तो तमाम बशर इकट्ठे फ़ना हो जाएँगे, और इंसान फिर मिट्टी में मिल जाएगा।
All flesh together, would cease to breathe, and, the earth-born, unto dust, would return.
16 “इसलिए अगर तुझ में समझ है तो इसे सुन ले, और मेरी बातों पर तवज्जुह कर।
If then [thou hast] understanding, hear this, Give thou ear to the teaching of my words: —
17 क्या वह जो हक़ से 'अदावत रखता है, हुकूमत करेगा? और क्या तू उसे जो 'आदिल और क़ादिर है, मुल्ज़िम ठहराएगा?
Shall, the very hater of right, control? Or, the just—the mighty one, wilt thou condemn?
18 वह तो बादशाह से कहता है, 'तू रज़ील है'; और शरीफ़ों से, कि 'तुम शरीर हो'।
Doth one say to a king, Abandoned one! Or, Lawless one! unto nobles?
19 वह उमर की तरफ़दारी नहीं करता, और अमीर को ग़रीब से ज़्यादा नहीं मानता, क्यूँकि वह सब उसी के हाथ की कारीगरी हैं।
For he hath shewn no respect of persons unto princes, neither hath he recognised the rich rather than the poor? For, the work of his hands, are they all.
20 वह दम भर में आधी रात को मर जाते हैं, लोग हिलाए जाते हैं और गुज़र जाते हैं और बहादुर लोग बगै़र हाथ लगाए उठा लिए जाते हैं।
In a moment, they die, even in the middle of the night, —A people are convulsed when they pass away, A mighty one is removed, without hand;
21 “क्यूँकि उसकी आँखें आदमी की राहों पर लगीं हैं, और वह उसकी आदतों को देखता है;
For, his eyes, are on the ways of a man, and, all his footsteps, he beholdeth, —
22 न कोई ऐसी तारीकी न मौत का साया है, जहाँ बद किरदार छिप सकें।
No darkness, and no death-shade, where the workers of iniquity may hide.
23 क्यूँकि उसे ज़रूरी नहीं कि आदमी का ज़्यादा ख़याल करे ताकि वह ख़ुदा के सामने 'अदालत में जाए।
For, unto no man, doth he appoint a repetition, —in going unto GOD in judgment;
24 वह बिला तफ़तीश ज़बरदस्तों को टुकड़े — टुकड़े करता, और उनकी जगह औरों को खड़ा करता है।
He shattereth mighty ones unsearchably, and setteth up others in their stead:
25 इसलिए वह उनके कामों का ख़याल रखता है, और वह उन्हें रात को उलट देता है ऐसा कि वह हलाक हो जाते हैं।
Therefore, he observeth their works, —and overturneth [them] in a night, and they are crushed;
26 वह औरों को देखते हुए, उनको ऐसा मारता है जैसा शरीरों को;
In the place of lawless men, hath he chastised them, in presence of beholders.
27 इसलिए कि वह उसकी पैरवी से फिर गए, और उसकी किसी राह का ख़याल न किया।
Forasmuch, as they turned from following him, and, none of his ways, did they teach;
28 यहाँ तक कि उनकी वजह से ग़रीबों की फ़रियाद उसके सामने पहुँची और उसने मुसीबत ज़दों की फ़रियाद सुनी।
Causing to reach him the outcry of the poor, Yea, the outcry of the oppressed, he heareth.
29 जब वह राहत बख़्शे तो कौन मुल्ज़िम ठहरा सकता है? जब वह मुँह छिपा ले तो कौन उसे देख सकता है? चाहे कोई क़ौम हो या आदमी, दोनों के साथ यकसाँ सुलूक है।
When, he, giveth quiet, who then shall condemn? And, when he hideth [his] face, who then shall sing of him? whether unto a nation or unto mankind altogether,
30 ताकि बेदीन आदमी सल्तनत न करे, और लोगों को फंदे में फंसाने के लिए कोई न हो।
That impious men may not reign, nor be ensnarers of the people.
31 “क्यूँकि क्या किसी ने ख़ुदा से कहा है, मैंने सज़ा उठा ली है, मैं अब बुराई न करूँगा;
For, unto GOD, hath one [ever] said—I have borne punishment, I will not be perverse;
32 जो मुझे दिखाई नहीं देता, वह तू मुझे सिखा; अगर मैंने गुनाह किया है तो अब ऐसा नहीं करूँगा'?
What I see not, do, thou, shew me, If, perverseness, I have wrought, I will do it no more?
33 क्या उसका बदला तेरी मर्ज़ी पर हो कि तू उसे ना मंज़ूर करता है? क्यूँकि तुझे फ़ैसला करना है न कि मुझे; इसलिए जो कुछ तू जानता है, कह दे।
According to thy mind, must he requite it, that thou hast refused? For, thou, must choose, and not, I, What then thou knowest, speak!
34 अहल — ए — अक़्ल मुझ से कहेंगे, बल्कि हर 'अक़्लमन्द जो मेरी सुनता है कहेगा,
The men of mind, will say to me, yea any wise man hearkening unto me: —
35 'अय्यूब नादानी से बोलता है, और उसकी बातें हिकमत से ख़ाली हैं।
Job, without knowledge, doth speak, and, his words, are not with discretion.
36 काश कि अय्यूब आख़िर तक आज़माया जाता, क्यूँकि वह शरीरों की तरह जवाब देता है।
Would that Job might be tested to the uttermost, for replying with the men of iniquity:
37 इसलिए कि वह अपने गुनाहों पर बग़ावत को बढ़ाता है; वह हमारे बीच तालियाँ बजाता है, और ख़ुदा के ख़िलाफ़ बहुत बातें बनाता है।”
For he addeth—unto his sin—rebellion, In our midst, he clappeth his hands, and multiplieth his sayings against GOD.
