अय्यू 25

1 तब बिलदद सूखी ने जवाब दिया

And Bildad the Shuhite answereth and saith: —

2 “हुकूमत और दबदबा उसके साथ है वह अपने बुलन्द मक़ामों में अमन रखता है।

The rule and fear [are] with Him, Making peace in His high places.

3 क्या उसकी फ़ौजों की कोई ता'दाद है? और कौन है जिस पर उसकी रोशनी नहीं पड़ती?

Is their [any] number to His troops? And on whom ariseth not His light?

4 फिर इंसान क्यूँकर ख़ुदा के सामने रास्त ठहर सकता है? या वह जो 'औरत से पैदा हुआ है क्यूँकर पाक हो सकता है?

And what? is man righteous with God? And what? is he pure — born of a woman?

5 देख, चाँद में भी रोशनी नहीं, और तारे उसकी नज़र में पाक नहीं।

Lo — unto the moon, and it shineth not, And stars have not been pure in His eyes.

6 फिर भला इंसान का जो महज़ कीड़ा है, और आदमज़ाद जो सिर्फ़ किरम है क्या ज़िक्र।”

How much less man — a grub, And the son of man — a worm!
