अय्यू 21
1 तब अय्यूब ने जवाब दिया,
And Job answereth and saith: —
2 ग़ौर से मेरी बात सुनो, और यही तुम्हारा तसल्ली देना हो।
Hear ye diligently my word, And this is your consolation.
3 मुझे इजाज़त दो तो मैं भी कुछ कहूँगा, और जब मैं कह चुकूँ तो ठठ्ठा मारलेना।
Bear with me, and I speak, And after my speaking — ye may deride.
4 लेकिन मैं, क्या मेरी फ़रियाद इंसान से है? फिर मैं बेसब्री क्यूँ न करूँ?
I — to man [is] my complaint? and if [so], wherefore May not my temper become short?
5 मुझ पर ग़ौर करो और मुत'अजीब हो, और अपना हाथ अपने मुँह पर रखो।
Turn unto me, and be astonished, And put hand to mouth.
6 जब मैं याद करता हूँ तो घबरा जाता हूँ, और मेरा जिस्म थर्रा उठता है।
Yea, if I have remembered, then I have been troubled. And my flesh hath taken fright.
7 शरीर क्यूँ जीते रहते, उम्र रसीदा होते, बल्कि कु़व्वत में ज़बरदस्त होते हैं?
Wherefore do the wicked live? They have become old, Yea, they have been mighty in wealth.
8 उनकी औलाद उनके साथ उनके देखते देखते, और उनकी नसल उनकी आँखों के सामने क़ाईम हो जाती है।
Their seed is established, Before their face with them, And their offspring before their eyes.
9 उनके घर डर से महफ़ूज़ हैं, और ख़ुदा की छड़ी उन पर नहीं है।
Their houses [are] peace without fear, Nor [is] a rod of God upon them.
10 उनका साँड बरदार कर देता है और चूकता नहीं, उनकी गाय ब्याती है और अपना बच्चा नहीं गिराती।
His bullock hath eaten corn, and doth not loath. His cow bringeth forth safely, And doth not miscarry.
11 वह अपने छोटे छोटे बच्चों को रेवड़ की तरह बाहर भेजते हैं, और उनकी औलाद नाचती है।
They send forth as a flock their sucklings, And their children skip,
12 वह ख़जरी और सितार के ताल पर गाते, और बाँसली की आवाज़ से ख़ुश होते हैं।
They lift [themselves] up at timbrel and harp, And rejoice at the sound of an organ.
They wear out in good their days, And in a moment [to] Sheol go down. (Sheol h7585)
14 हालाँकि उन्होंने ख़ुदा से कहा था, कि 'हमारे पास से चला जा; क्यूँकि हम तेरी राहों के 'इल्म के ख़्वाहिशमन्द नहीं।
And they say to God, 'Turn aside from us, And the knowledge of Thy ways We have not desired.
15 क़ादिर — ए — मुतलक़ है क्या कि हम उसकी इबादत करें? और अगर हम उससे दुआ करें तो हमें क्या फ़ायदा होगा?
What [is] the Mighty One that we serve Him? And what do we profit when we meet with Him?'
16 देखो, उनकी इक़बालमन्दी उनके हाथ में नहीं है। शरीरों की मशवरत मुझ से दूर है।
Lo, not in their hand [is] their good, (The counsel of the wicked Hath been far from me.)
17 कितनी बार शरीरों का चराग़ बुझ जाता है? और उनकी आफ़त उन पर आ पड़ती है? और ख़ुदा अपने ग़ज़ब में उन्हें ग़म पर ग़म देता है?
How oft is the lamp of the wicked extinguished, And come on them doth their calamity? Pangs He apportioneth in His anger.
18 और वह ऐसे हैं जैसे हवा के आगे डंठल, और जैसे भूसा जिसे आँधी उड़ा ले जाती है?
They are as straw before wind, And as chaff a hurricane hath stolen away,
19 'ख़ुदा उसका गुनाह उसके बच्चों के लिए रख छोड़ता है, वह उसका बदला उसी को दे ताकि वह जान ले।
God layeth up for his sons his sorrow, He giveth recompense unto him — and he knoweth.
20 उसकी हलाकत को उसी की आँखें देखें, और वह क़ादिर — ए — मुतलक के ग़ज़ब में से पिए।
His own eyes see his destruction, And of the wrath of the Mighty he drinketh.
21 क्यूँकि अपने बाद उसको अपने घराने से क्या ख़ुशी है, जब उसके महीनों का सिलसिला ही काट डाला गया?
For what [is] his delight in his house after him, And the number of his months cut off?
22 क्या कोई ख़ुदा को 'इल्म सिखाएगा? जिस हाल की वह सरफ़राज़ों की 'अदालत करता है।
To God doth [one] teach knowledge, And He the high doth judge?
23 कोई तो अपनी पूरी ताक़त में, चैन और सुख से रहता हुआ मर जाता है।
This [one] dieth in his perfect strength, Wholly at ease and quiet.
24 उसकी दोहिनियाँ दूध से भरी हैं, और उसकी हड्डियों का गूदा तर है;
His breasts have been full of milk, And marrow his bones doth moisten.
25 और कोई अपने जी में कुढ़ कुढ़ कर मरता है, और कभी सुख नहीं पाता।
And this [one] dieth with a bitter soul, And have not eaten with gladness.
26 वह दोनों मिट्टी में यकसाँ पड़ जाते हैं, और कीड़े उन्हें ढाँक लेते हैं।
Together — on the dust they lie down, And the worm doth cover them over.
27 देखो, मैं तुम्हारे ख़यालों को जानता हूँ, और उन मंसूबों को भी जो तुम बे इन्साफ़ी से मेरे ख़िलाफ़ बाँधते हो।
Lo, I have known your thoughts, And the devices against me ye do wrongfully.
28 क्यूँकि तुम कहते हो, 'अमीर का घर कहाँ रहा? और वह ख़ेमा कहाँ है जिसमें शरीर बसते थे?
For ye say, 'Where [is] the house of the noble? And where the tent — The tabernacles of the wicked?'
29 क्या तुम ने रास्ता चलने वालों से कभी नहीं पूछा? और उनके निशान — आत नहीं पहचानते
Have ye not asked those passing by the way? And their signs do ye not know?
30 कि शरीर आफ़त के दिन के लिए रख्खा जाता है, और ग़ज़ब के दिन तक पहुँचाया जाता है?
That to a day of calamity is the wicked spared. To a day of wrath they are brought.
31 कौन उसकी राह को उसके मुँह पर बयान करेगा? और उसके किए का बदला कौन उसे देगा?
Who doth declare to his face his way? And [for] that which he hath done, Who doth give recompence to him?
32 तोभी वह क़ब्र में पहुँचाया जाएगा, और उसकी क़ब्र पर पहरा दिया जाएगा।
And he — to the graves he is brought. And over the heap a watch is kept.
33 वादी के ढेले उसे पसंद हैं; और सब लोग उसके पीछे चले जाएँगे, जैसे उससे पहले बेशुमार लोग गए।
Sweet to him have been the clods of the valley, And after him every man he draweth, And before him there is no numbering.
34 इसलिए तुम क्यूँ मुझे झूठी तसल्ली देते हो, जिस हाल कि तुम्हारी बातों में झूँठ ही झूँठ है।
And how do ye comfort me [with] vanity, And in your answers hath been left trespass?
