यर्म 11
1 यह वह कलाम है जो ख़ुदावन्द की तरफ़ से यरमियाह पर नाज़िल हुआ, और उसने फ़रमाया,
This is the word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD:
2 कि “तुम इस 'अहद की बातें सुनो, और बनी यहूदाह और येरूशलेम के बाशिन्दों से बयान करो;
“Listen to the words of this covenant and tell them to the men of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem.
3 और तू उनसे कह, ख़ुदावन्द, इस्राईल का ख़ुदा, यूँ फ़रमाता है कि ला'नत उस इंसान पर जो इस 'अहद की बातें नहीं सुनता।
You must tell them that this is what the LORD, the God of Israel, says: Cursed is the man who does not obey the words of this covenant,
4 जो मैंने तुम्हारे बाप — दादा से उस वक़्त फ़रमाईं, जब मैं उनको मुल्क — ए — मिस्र से लोहे के तनूर से, यह कह कर निकाल लाया कि तुम मेरी आवाज़ की फ़रमाँबरदारी करो, और जो कुछ मैंने तुम को हुक्म दिया है उस पर 'अमल करो, तो तुम मेरे लोग होगे और मैं तुम्हारा ख़ुदा हूँगा;
which I commanded your forefathers when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the iron furnace, saying, ‘Obey Me, and do everything I command you, and you will be My people, and I will be your God.’
5 ताकि मैं उस क़सम को जो मैंने तुम्हारे बाप — दादा से खाई कि मैं उनको ऐसा मुल्क दूँगा जिसमें दूध और शहद बहता हो, जैसा कि आज के दिन है, पूरा करूँ।” तब मैंने जवाब में कहा, ऐ ख़ुदावन्द, आमीन।
This was in order to establish the oath I swore to your forefathers, to give them a land flowing with milk and honey, as it is to this day.” “Amen, LORD,” I answered.
6 फिर ख़ुदावन्द ने मुझे फ़रमाया, यहूदाह के शहरों और येरूशलेम के कूचों में इन सब बातों का 'ऐलान कर और कह: इस 'अहद की बातें सुनो और उन पर 'अमल करो।
Then the LORD said to me, “Proclaim all these words in the cities of Judah and in the streets of Jerusalem, saying: Hear the words of this covenant and carry them out.
7 क्यूँकि मैं तुम्हारे बाप — दादा को जिस दिन से मुल्क — ए — मिस्र से निकाल लाया, आज तक ताकीद करता और वक़्त पर जताता और कहता रहा कि मेरी सुनो।
For from the time I brought your fathers out of the land of Egypt until today, I strongly warned them again and again, saying, ‘Obey My voice.’
8 लेकिन उन्होंने कान न लगाया और शिनवा न हुए, बल्कि हर एक ने अपने बुरे दिल की सख़्ती की पैरवी की; इसलिए मैंने इस 'अहद की सब बातें, जिन पर 'अमल करने का उनको हुक्म दिया था और उन्होंने न किया, उन पर पूरी कीं।
Yet they would not obey or incline their ears, but each one followed the stubbornness of his evil heart. So I brought on them all the curses of this covenant I had commanded them to follow but they did not keep.”
9 तब ख़ुदावन्द ने मुझे फ़रमाया, यहूदाह के लोगों और येरूशलेम के बाशिन्दों में साज़िश पाई जाती है।
And the LORD told me, “There is a conspiracy among the men of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem.
10 वह अपने बाप — दादा की तरफ़ जिन्होंने मेरी बातें सुनने से इन्कार किया, फिर गए और ग़ैर मा'बूदों के पैरौ होकर उनकी इबादत की, इस्राईल के घराने और यहूदाह के घराने ने उस 'अहद को जो मैंने उनके बाप — दादा से किया था तोड़ दिया।
They have returned to the sins of their forefathers who refused to obey My words. They have followed other gods to serve them. The house of Israel and the house of Judah have broken the covenant I made with their fathers.
11 इसलिए ख़ुदावन्द यूँ फ़रमाता है कि देख, मैं उन पर ऐसी बला लाऊँगा जिससे वह भाग न सकेंगे, और वह मुझे पुकारेंगे पर मैं उनकी न सुनूँगा।
Therefore this is what the LORD says: ‘I am about to bring upon them a disaster that they cannot escape. They will cry out to Me, but I will not listen to them.
12 तब यहूदाह के शहर और येरूशलेम के बाशिन्दे जाएँगे और उन मा'बूदों को जिनके आगे वह ख़ुशबू जलाते हैं पुकारेंगे, लेकिन वह मुसीबत के वक़्त उनको हरगिज़ न बचाएँगे।
Then the cities of Judah and the residents of Jerusalem will go and cry out to the gods to which they have been burning incense, but these gods certainly will not save them in their time of disaster.
13 क्यूँकि ऐ यहूदाह, जितने तेरे शहर हैं उतने ही तेरे मा'बूद हैं, और जितने येरूशलेम के कूचे हैं उतने ही तुम ने उस रुस्वाई की वजह के लिए मज़बहे बनाए, या'नी बा'ल के लिए ख़ुशबू जलाने की क़ुर्बानगाहें।
Your gods are indeed as numerous as your cities, O Judah; the altars of shame you have set up—the altars to burn incense to Baal—are as many as the streets of Jerusalem.’
14 “इसलिए तू इन लोगों के लिए दुआ न कर और न इनके लिए अपनी आवाज़ बलन्द कर और न मिन्नत कर, क्यूँकि जब वह अपनी मुसीबत में मुझे पुकारेंगे मैं इनकी न सुनूँगा।
As for you, do not pray for these people. Do not raise up a cry or a prayer on their behalf, for I will not be listening when they call out to Me in their time of disaster.
15 मेरे घर में मेरी महबूबा को क्या काम जब कि वह बहुत ज़्यादा शरारत कर चुकी? क्या मन्नत और पाक गोश्त तेरी शरारत को दूर करेंगे? क्या तू इनके ज़रिए' से रिहाई पाएगी? तू शरारत करके ख़ुश होती है।
What right has My beloved in My house, having carried out so many evil schemes? Can consecrated meat avert your doom, so that you can rejoice?
16 ख़ुदावन्द ने ख़ुशमेवा हरा ज़ैतून, तेरा नाम रखा; उसने बड़े हंगामे की आवाज़ होते होते ही उसे आग लगा दी और उसकी डालियाँ तोड़ दी गईं।
The LORD once called you a flourishing olive tree, beautiful with well-formed fruit. But with a mighty roar He will set it on fire, and its branches will be consumed.
17 क्यूँकि रब्ब — उल — अफ़वाज ने जिसने तुझे लगाया, तुझ पर बला का हुक्म किया, उस बदी की वजह से जो इस्राईल के घराने और यहूदाह के घराने ने अपने हक़ में की कि बा'ल के लिए ख़ुशबू जला कर मुझे ग़ज़बनाक किया।”
The LORD of Hosts, who planted you, has decreed disaster against you on account of the evil that the house of Israel and the house of Judah have brought upon themselves, provoking Me to anger by burning incense to Baal.”
18 ख़ुदावन्द ने मुझ पर ज़ाहिर किया और मैं जान गया, तब तूने मुझे उनके काम दिखाए।
And the LORD informed me, so I knew. Then You showed me their deeds.
19 लेकिन मैं उस पालतू बर्रे की तरह था, जिसे ज़बह करने को ले जाते हैं; और मुझे मा'लूम न था कि उन्होंने मेरे ख़िलाफ़ मंसूबे बाँधे हैं कि आओ, दरख़्त को उसके फल के साथ हलाक करें और उसे ज़िन्दों की ज़मीन से काट डालें, ताकि उसके नाम का ज़िक्र तक बाक़ी न रहे।
For I was like a gentle lamb led to slaughter; I did not know that they had plotted against me: “Let us destroy the tree with its fruit; let us cut him off from the land of the living, that his name may be remembered no more.”
20 ऐ रब्बउल — अफ़वाज, जो सदाक़त से 'अदालत करता है, जो दिल — ओ — दिमाग़ को जाँचता है, उनसे इन्तक़ाम लेकर मुझे दिखा क्यूँकि मैंने अपना दावा तुझ ही पर ज़ाहिर किया।
O LORD of Hosts, who judges righteously, who examines the heart and mind, let me see Your vengeance upon them, for to You I have committed my cause.
21 इसलिए ख़ुदावन्द फ़रमाता है, अन्तोत के लोगों के बारे में, जो यह कहकर तेरी जान के तलबगार हैं कि ख़ुदावन्द का नाम लेकर नबुव्वत न कर, ताकि तू हमारे हाथ से न मारा जाए।
Therefore this is what the LORD says concerning the people of Anathoth who are seeking your life and saying, “You must not prophesy in the name of the LORD, or you will die by our hand.”
22 रब्ब — उल — अफ़वाज यूँ फ़रमाता है कि “देख, मैं उनको सज़ा दूँगा, जवान तलवार से मारे जाएँगे, उनके बेटे — बेटियाँ काल से मरेंगे;
So this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “I will punish them. Their young men will die by the sword, their sons and daughters by famine.
23 और उनमें से कोई बाक़ी न रहेगा। क्यूँकि मैं 'अन्तोत के लोगों पर उनकी सज़ा के साल में आफ़त लाऊँगा।”
There will be no remnant, for I will bring disaster on the people of Anathoth in the year of their punishment.”
