यसा 17
1 दमिश्क़ के बारे में बार — ए — नबुव्वत, “देखो दमिश्क़ अब तो शहर न रहेगा, बल्कि खण्डर का ढेर होगा।
The oracle on Damascus, —Lo! Damascus, is to be removed from being a city, And shall become a heap of ruins:
2 'अरो'ईर की बस्तियाँ वीरान हैं और ग़ल्लों की चरागाहें होंगी; वह वहाँ बैठेगे, और कोई उनके डराने को भी वहाँ न होगा।
Forsaken, are the desolate cities, —For flocks, shall they serve, Which shall lie down and have none to make them afraid.
3 और इफ़्राईम में कोई क़िला' न रहेगा, दमिश्क़ और अराम के बक़िए से सल्तनत जाती रहेगी; रब्ब — उल — अफ़वाज फ़रमाता है, जो हाल बनी — इस्राईल की शौकत का हुआ वही उनका होगा।
Then shall the fortress cease from Ephraim, And the kingdom from Damascus and the remnant of Syria, —Like the glory of the sons of Israel, shall they be, —Declareth Yahweh of hosts.
4 और उस वक़्त यूँ होगा कि या'क़ूब की हश्मत घट जाएगी, और उसका चर्बीदार बदन दुबला हो जाएगा।
And it shall come to pass in that day, That the glory of Jacob, shall be diminished, And, the fatness of his flesh, shall be wasted;
5 यह ऐसा होगा जैसा कोई खड़े खेत काटकर ग़ल्ला जमा' करे और अपने हाथ से बालें तोड़े; बल्कि ऐसा होगा जैसा कोई रिफ़ाईम की वादी में ख़ोशाचीनी करे।
And it shall come to pass—That, as the harvestman gathereth standing corn, And with his arm—the ears, he reapeth, Yea it shall come to pass—That, so, shall he be who gleaneth ears, in the vale of Rephaim;
6 ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल का ख़ुदा फ़रमाता है कि तब उसका बक़िया बहुत ही थोड़ा होगा, जैसे ज़ैतून के दरख़्त का जब वह हिलाया जाए, या'नी दो तीन दाने चोटी की शाख़ पर, चार पाँच फलवाले दरख़्त की बैरूनी शाख़ों पर।
Yet shall there be left therein, a gleaning. As in the beating of an olive-tree, —Two-three berries in the head of the tree-top, —Four—five, among her fruitful boughs, Declareth Yahweh God of Israel.
7 उस रोज़ इंसान अपने ख़ालिक़ की तरफ़ नज़र करेगा और उसकी आँखें इस्राईल के क़ुद्दूस की तरफ़ देखेंगी;
In that day, shall the son of earth look to him that made him, —And his eyes unto the Holy One of Israel, be turned;
8 और वह मज़बहों या'नी अपने हाथ के काम पर नज़र न करेगा, और अपनी दस्तकारी या'नी यसीरतों और बुतों की परवा न करेगा।
And he shall not look unto the altars the work of his own hands, —Nor to what his own fingers have made, shall his eye be turned, Whether Sacred Stems or Sun-pillars.
9 उस वक़्त उसके फ़सीलदार शहर उजड़े जंगल और पहाड़ की चोटी पर के मक़ामात की तरह होंगे; जो बनी — इस्राईल के सामने उजड़ गए, और वहाँ वीरानी होगी।
In that day, shall his fortified cities become Like a neglected bough and a topmost branch, Which they neglected because of the sons of Israel, —So shall there be desolation.
10 चूँकि तूने अपने नजात देनेवाले ख़ुदा को फ़रामोश किया, और अपनी तवानाई की चट्टान को याद न किया; इसलिए तू ख़ूबसूरत पौधे लगाता और 'अजीब कलमें उसमें जमाता है।
Because thou didst forget the God of thy salvation, And thy Rock of refuge, thou didst not remember, For this cause, shalt thou plant very pleasant plants, And, the slip of a stranger, shalt thou set:
11 लगाते वक़्त उसके चारों तरफ़ अहाता बनाता है, और सुबह को उसमें फूल खिलते हैं; लेकिन उसका हासिल दुख और सख़्त मुसीबत के वक़्त बेकार है।
In the day when thou plantest, fence thou in, And in the morning, cause thou, thy slip, to blossom, —A harvest will have waved in the day of destiny, and mortal pain.
12 आह! बहुत से लोगों का हंगामा है! जो समन्दर के शोर की तरह शोर मचाते हैं, और उम्मतों का धावा बड़े सैलाब के रेले की तरह है।
Alas! the booming of many peoples, Like the booming of the seas, shall they boom, —And the rushing of nations! Like the rushing of mighty waters, shall they rush.
13 उम्मतें सैलाब — ए — 'अज़ीम की तरह आ पड़ेंगी; लेकिन वह उनको डॉंटेगा, और वह दूर भाग जाएँगी, और उस भूसे की तरह जो टीलों के ऊपर आँधी से उड़ता फिरे और उस गर्द की तरह जो बगोले में चक्कर खाए रगेदी जाएँगी।
Though nations like the rushing of many waters, shall rush, Yet shall one rebuke him, And he shall flee far away, —And be chased As the chaff of the mountains before a wind, And as whirling stubble before a storm!
14 शाम के वक़्त तो हैबत है! सुबह होने से पहले वह हलाक हैं! ये हमारे ग़ारतगरों का हिस्सा और हम को लूटनेवालों का हिस्सा है।
At eventide, lo! terror, Before morning, he is not! This, is the portion of them who plunder us, And the lot of them who make of us a prey.
