आस्त 5
1 और तीसरे दिन ऐसा हुआ कि आस्तर शाहाना लिबास पहन कर शाही महल की बारगाह — ए — अन्दरूनी में शाही महल के सामने खड़ी हो गई। और बादशाह अपने शाही महल में अपने तख़्त — ए — हुकूमत पर महल के सामने के दरवाज़े पर बैठा था।
And it came to pass, on the third day, that Esther put on her royal apparel, and stood in the inner court of the house of the king, over against the house of the king, —and, the king, was sitting upon his royal seat, in the royal house, over against the opening of the house.
2 और ऐसा हुआ कि जब बादशाह ने आस्तर मलिका को बारगाह में खड़ी देखा, तो वह उसकी नज़र में मक़्बूल ठहरी और बादशाह ने वह सुनहली लाठी जो उसके हाथ में थी आस्तर की तरफ़ बढ़ाया। तब आस्तर ने नज़दीक जाकर लाठी की नोक को छुआ।
And it came to pass, when the king saw Esther the queen standing in the court, that she obtained favour in his eyes, —and the king held out to Esther, the golden sceptre which was in his hand, so Esther drew near, and touched the top of the sceptre.
3 तब बादशाह ने उससे कहा, “आस्तर मलिका तू क्या चाहती है और किस चीज़ की दरख़्वास्त करती है? आधी बादशाहत तक वह तुझे बख़्शी जाएगी।”
Then said the king unto her, What aileth thee, Queen Esther? and what is thy request? Unto the half of the kingdom, shall it be given thee.
4 आस्तर ने दरख़्वास्त की “अगर बादशाह को मन्ज़ूर हो, तो बादशाह उस जश्न में जो मैंने उसके लिए तैयार किया है, हामान को साथ लेकर आज तशरीफ़ लाए।”
Then said Esther, If, unto the king, it seem good, let the king with Haman come in this day, unto the banquet which I have prepared for him.
5 बादशाह ने फ़रमाया कि “हामान को जल्द लाओ, ताकि आस्तर के कहे के मुताबिक़ किया जाए।” तब बादशाह और हामान उस जश्न में आए, जिसकी तैयारी आस्तर ने की थी
And the king said, Hasten ye Haman, to perform the word of Esther. So the king with Haman came in, unto the banquet which Esther had prepared,
6 और बादशाह ने जश्न में मयनौशी के वक़्त आस्तर से पूछा, “तेरा क्या सवाल है? वह मन्ज़ूर होगा। तेरी क्या दरख़्वास्त है? आधी बादशाहत तक वह पूरी की जाएगी।”
Then said the king unto Esther, during the banquet of wine, What is thy petition, that it may be granted thee?—and what is thy request—unto the half of the kingdom—that it may be performed?
7 आस्तर ने जवाब दिया, “मेरा सवाल और मेरी दरख़्वास्त यह है,
Then answered Esther, and said, —As touching my petition and my request,
8 अगर मैं बादशाह की नज़र में मक़बूल हूँ, और बादशाह को मन्ज़ूर हो कि मेरा सवाल क़ुबूल और मेरी दरख़्वास्त पूरी करे, तो बादशाह और हामान मेरे जश्न में जो मैं उनके लिए तैयार करूँगी आयें और कल जैसा बादशाह ने इरशाद किया है मैं करूँगी।”
If I have found favour in the eyes of the king, and if, unto the king, it seem good, to grant my petition, and to perform my request, let the king with Haman come in unto the banquet which I will prepare for them, and, to-morrow, I will do according to the word of the king.
9 उस दिन हामान शादमान और ख़ुश होकर निकला। लेकिन जब हामान ने बादशाह के फाटक पर मर्दकै को देखा कि उसके लिए न खड़ा हुआ न हटा, तो हामान मर्दकै के खिलाफ़ गुस्से से भर गया।
Then went Haman forth on that day, joyful and of a merry heart, —but, when Haman saw Mordecai in the gate of the king, that he rose not up nor moved because of him, then was Haman filled with wrath against Mordecai.
10 तोभी हामान अपने आपको बरदाश्त करके घर गया, और लोग भेजकर अपने दोस्तों को और अपनी बीवी ज़रिश को बुलवाया।
Nevertheless Haman restrained himself, and came into his own house, —and sent and brought in his friends, and Zeresh his wife;
11 और हामान उनके आगे अपनी शान — ओ — शौकत, और बेटों की कसरत का क़िस्सा कहने लगा, और किस किस तरह बादशाह ने उसकी तरक़्क़ी की, और उसको हाकिम और बादशाही मुलाज़िमों से ज़्यादा सरफ़राज़ किया।
and Haman recounted unto them the glory of his riches, and the multitude of his children, —and all the things wherein the king had promoted him to power, and how he had advanced him, above the rulers and the servants of the king.
12 हामान ने यह भी कहा, “देखो, आस्तर मलिका ने अलावा मेरे किसी को बादशाह के साथ अपने जश्न में, जो उसने तैयार किया था आने न दिया; और कल के लिए भी उसने बादशाह के साथ मुझे दा'वत दी है।
And Haman said, Moreover Esther the queen did bring in no one with the king into the banquet which she had prepared, saving myself, —yea moreover, even for to-morrow, I, am invited unto her, with the king.
13 तोभी जब तक मर्दकै यहूदी मुझे बादशाह के फाटक पर बैठा दिखाई देता है, इन बातों से मुझे कुछ हासिल नहीं।”
Yet, all this, sufficeth me not, —so long as, I, see Mordecai the Jew, sitting in the gate of the king.
14 तब उसकी बीवी ज़रिश और उसके सब दोस्तों ने उससे कहा, “पचास हाथ ऊँची सूली बनाई जाए, और कल बादशाह से 'दरख़्वास्त करके मर्दकै उस पर चढ़ाया जाए; तब ख़ुशी ख़ुशी बादशाह के साथ जश्न में जाना।” यह बात हामान को पसन्द आई, और उसने एक सूली बनवाई।
Then said Zeresh his wife and all his friends unto him, Let them make ready a gallows, of the height of fifty cubits, and, in the morning, speak thou unto the king, that they hang Mordecai thereon, then go with the king into the banquet joyfully. And the thing seemed good before Haman, and he made ready the gallows.
