इस्त 20
1 जब तू अपने दुश्मनों से जंग करने को जाये, और घोड़ों और रथों और अपने से बड़ी फ़ौज को देखे तो उनसे डर न जाना; क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा जो तुझको मुल्क — ए — मिस्र से निकाल लाया तेरे साथ है।
for to come out: come to/for battle upon enemy your and to see: see horse and chariot people: soldiers many from you not to fear from them for LORD God your with you [the] to ascend: rise you from land: country/planet Egypt
2 और जब मैदान — ए — जंग में तुम्हारा मुक़ाबला होने को हो तो काहिन फ़ौज के आदमियों के पास जाकर उनकी तरफ़ मुख़ातिब हो,
and to be like/as to present: come you to(wards) [the] battle and to approach: approach [the] priest and to speak: speak to(wards) [the] people
3 और उनसे कहे, 'सुनो ऐ इस्राईलियों, तुम आज के दिन अपने दुश्मनों के मुक़ाबले के लिए मैदान — ए — जंग में आए हो; इसलिए तुम्हारा दिल परेशान न हो, तुम न ख़ौफ़ करो, न काँपों, न उनसे दहशत खाओ।
and to say to(wards) them to hear: hear Israel you(m. p.) approaching [the] day to/for battle upon enemy your not be tender heart your not to fear and not to hurry and not to tremble from face of their
4 क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द तुम्हारा ख़ुदा तुम्हारे साथ — साथ चलता है, ताकि तुमको बचाने को तुम्हारी तरफ़ से तुम्हारे दुश्मनों से जंग करे।”
for LORD God your [the] to go: went with you to/for to fight to/for you with enemy your to/for to save [obj] you
5 फिर फ़ौजी अफ़सरान लोगों से यूँ कहें कि 'तुम में से जिस किसी ने नया घर बनाया हो और उसे मख़्सूस न किया हो तो वह अपने घर को लौट जाए, ऐसा न हो कि वह जंग में क़त्ल हो और दूसरा शख़्स उसे मख़्सूस करे।
and to speak: speak [the] official to(wards) [the] people to/for to say who? [the] man which to build house: home new and not to dedicate him to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his lest to die in/on/with battle and man another to dedicate him
6 और जिस किसी ने ताकिस्तान लगाया हो लेकिन अब तक उसका फल इस्ते'माल न किया हो वह भी अपने घर को लौट जाए, ऐसा न हो कि वह जंग में मारा जाए और दूसरा आदमी उसका फल खाए।
and who? [the] man which to plant vineyard and not to profane/begin: fruit him to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his lest to die in/on/with battle and man another to profane/begin: fruit him
7 और जिसने किसी 'औरत से अपनी मंगनी तो कर ली हो लेकिन उसे ब्याह कर नहीं लाया है वह अपने घर को लौट जाए, ऐसा न हो कि वह लड़ाई में मारा जाए और दूसरा मर्द उससे ब्याह करे।
and who? [the] man which to betroth woman: wife and not to take: marry her to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his lest to die in/on/with battle and man another to take: marry her
8 और फ़ौजी हाकिम लोगों की तरफ़ मुख़ातिब हो कर उनसे यह भी कहें कि 'जो शख़्स डरपोक और कच्चे दिल का हो वह भी अपने घर को लौट जाए, ऐसा न हो कि उसकी तरह उसके भाइयों का हौसला भी टूट जाए।
and to add: again [the] official to/for to speak: speak to(wards) [the] people and to say who? [the] man [the] afraid and tender [the] heart to go: went and to return: return to/for house: home his and not to melt [obj] heart brother: compatriot his like/as heart his
9 और जब फ़ौजी हाकिम यह सब कुछ लोगों से कह चुकें, तो लश्कर के सरदारों को उन पर मुक़र्रर कर दें।
and to be like/as to end: finish [the] official to/for to speak: speak to(wards) [the] people and to reckon: overseer ruler army in/on/with head: leader [the] people
10 जब तू किसी शहर से जंग करने को उसके नज़दीक पहुँचे, तो पहले उसे सुलह का पैग़ाम देना।
for to present: come to(wards) city to/for to fight upon her and to call: call to to(wards) her to/for peace
11 और अगर वह तुझको सुलह का जवाब दे और अपने फाटक तेरे लिए खोल दे, तो वहाँ के सब बाशिन्दे तेरे बाजगुज़ार बन कर तेरी ख़िदमत करें।
and to be if peace to answer you and to open to/for you and to be all [the] people [the] to find in/on/with her to be to/for you to/for taskworker and to serve you
12 और अगर वह तुझसे सुलह न करें बल्कि तुझसे लड़ना चाहें, तो तुम उसका मुहासिरा करना;
and if not to ally with you and to make with you battle and to confine upon her
13 और जब ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा उसे तेरे क़ब्ज़े में कर दे तो वहाँ के हर मर्द को तलवार से क़त्ल कर डालना।
and to give: give her LORD God your in/on/with hand: power your and to smite [obj] all male her to/for lip: edge sword
14 लेकिन 'औरतों और बाल बच्चों और चौपायों और उस शहर का सब माल और लूट को अपने लिए रख लेना, और तू अपने दुश्मनों की उस लूट को जो ख़ुदावन्द तेरे ख़ुदा ने तुझको दी हो खाना।
except [the] woman and [the] child and [the] animal and all which to be in/on/with city all spoil her to plunder to/for you and to eat [obj] spoil enemy your which to give: give LORD God your to/for you
15 उन सब शहरों का यही हाल करना जो तुझसे बहुत दूर हैं और इन क़ौमों के शहर नहीं हैं।
so to make: do to/for all [the] city [the] distant from you much which not from city [the] nation [the] these they(fem.)
16 लेकिन इन क़ौमों के शहरों में जिनको ख़ुदावन्द तेरा ख़ुदा मीरास के तौर पर तुझको देता है, किसी आदमीं को ज़िन्दा न बाक़ी रखना।
except from city [the] people [the] these which LORD God your to give: give to/for you inheritance not to live all breath
17 बल्कि तू इनको या'नी हित्ती और अमोरी और कना'नी और फ़रिज़्ज़ी और हव्वी और यबूसी क़ौमों को, जैसा ख़ुदावन्द तेरे ख़ुदा ने तुझको हुक्म दिया है बिल्कुल हलाक कर देना।
for to devote/destroy to devote/destroy them [the] Hittite and [the] Amorite [the] Canaanite and [the] Perizzite [the] Hivite and [the] Jebusite like/as as which to command you LORD God your
18 ताकि वह तुमको अपने से मकरूह काम करने न सिखाएँ जो उन्होंने अपने मा'बूदों के लिए किए हैं, और यूँ तुम ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा के ख़िलाफ़ गुनाह करने लगो।
because which not to learn: teach [obj] you to/for to make: do like/as all abomination their which to make: do to/for God their and to sin to/for LORD God your
19 जब तू किसी शहर को फ़तह करने के लिए उससे जंग करे और ज़माने तक उसको घेरे रहे, तो उसके दरख़्तों को कुल्हाड़ी से न काट डालना क्यूँकि उनका फल तेरे खाने के काम में आएगा इसलिए तू उनको मत काटना। क्यूँकि क्या मैदान का दरख़्त इंसान है कि तू उसको घेरे रहे?
for to confine to(wards) city day many to/for to fight upon her to/for to capture her not to ruin [obj] tree her to/for to banish upon him axe for from him to eat and [obj] him not to cut: cut for man tree [the] land: country to/for to come (in): besiege from face: before your in/on/with siege
20 इसलिए सिर्फ़ उन्हीं दरख्तों को काट कर उड़ा देना जो तेरी समझ में खाने के मतलब के न हों, और तू उस शहर के सामने जो तुझसे जंग करता हो बुर्जों को बना लेना जब तक वह सर न हो जाए।
