1 इसके बाद दाऊद ने फ़िलिस्तियों को मारा, और उनको मग़लूब किया और दाऊद ने दारुल हुकूमत 'इनान फ़िलिस्तियों के हाथ से छीन ली।
And it came to pass after this, that David smote the Philistines, and humbled them: and David took Metheg-haammah out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 और उसने मोआब को मारा और उनको ज़मीन पर लिटा कर रस्सी से नापा, तब उसने क़त्ल करने के लिए दो रस्सियों से नापा और जीता छोड़ने के लिए एक पूरी रस्सी से, यूँ मोआबी दाऊद के ख़ादिम बनकर हदिये लाने लगे।
And he smote Moab, and measured them with a line, laying them down on the ground; and he measured with two lines to put to death, and with one full line to keep alive. And the Moabites became David's servants, bringing presents.
3 और दाऊद ने ज़ोबाह के बादशाह रहोब के बेटे हदद'अज़र को भी जब वह दरिया — ए — फ़रात पर बादशाहत पर भी क़ब्ज़ा करने को जा रहा था मार लिया।
David smote also Hadad'ezer, the son of Rechob, the king of Zobah, as he went to extend his territory at the river Euphrates.
4 और दाऊद ने उसके एक हज़ार सात सौ सवार और बीस हज़ार पियादे पकड़ लिए और दाऊद ने रथों के सब घोड़ों की नालें काटीं पर उनमें से सौ रथों के लिए घोड़े बचा रख्खे।
And David captured from him a thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand men on foot: and David hamstringed all the chariot-teams, but reserved of them a hundred chariot-teams.
5 और जब दमिश्क़ के अरामी ज़ोबाह के बादशाह हदद अज़र की मदद को आए तो दाऊद ने अरामियों के बाईस हज़ार आदमी क़त्ल किए।
And the Syrians of Damascus then came to aid Hadad'ezer, the king of Zobah, when David slew of the Syrians twenty and two thousand men.
6 जब दाऊद ने दमिश्क़ के आराम में सिपाहियों की चौकियाँ बिठाईं तब अरामी भी दाऊद के ख़ादिम बन कर हदिये लाने लगे, और ख़ुदावन्द ने दाऊद को जहाँ कहीं वह गया फ़तह बख़्शी।
And David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus: and the Syrians became servants to David, bearing presents. And the Lord helped David whithersoever he went.
7 और दाऊद ने हदद'अज़र के मुलाज़िमों की सोने की ढालें छीन लीं और उनको येरूशलेम में ले आया।
And David took the shields of gold that belonged to the servants of Hadad'ezer, and brought them to Jerusalem.
8 और दाऊद बादशाह बताह और बैरूती से जो हदद'अज़र के शहर थे बहुत सा पीतल ले आया।
And from Betach, and from Berothai, cities of Hadad'ezer, did king David take exceedingly much copper.
9 और जब हमात के बादशाह तूग़ी ने सुना कि दाऊद ने हदद'अज़र का सारा लश्कर मार लिया।
And when To'i the king of Chamath heard that David had smitten all the host of Hadad'ezer,
10 तो तूग़ी ने अपने बेटे यूराम को दाऊद बादशाह के पास भेजा, कि उसे सलाम कहे और मुबारकबाद दे, इसलिए कि उसने हदद’अज़र तूग़ी से लड़ा करता था और यूराम चाँदी और सोने और पीतल के बरतन अपने साथ लाया।
Then did To'i send Yoram his son unto king David, to ask him after his well-being, and to bless him, because that he had fought against Hadad'ezer, and smitten him; for Hadad'ezer had been engaged in wars with To'i; and he had in his hand vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of copper:
11 और दाऊद बादशाह ने उनको ख़ुदावन्द के लिए मख़्सूस किया, ऐसे ही उसने उनसब क़ौमों के सोने चाँदी को मख़्सूस किया जिनको उसने मग़लूब किया था।
These also did king David sanctify unto the Lord, with the silver and gold that he had sanctified from all the nations which he subdued;
12 या'नी अरामियों और मोआबियों और बनी अम्मोन और फ़िलिस्तियों और 'अमालीकियों के सोने चाँदी और ज़ोबाह के बादशाह रहोब के बेटे हदद'अज़र की लूट को।
From Syria, and from Moab, and from the children of 'Ammon, and from the Philistines, and from 'Amalek, and from the spoil of Hadad'ezer, the son of Rechob, the king of Zobah.
13 और दाऊद का बड़ा नाम हुआ जब वह नमक की वादी में अरामियों के अठारह हज़ार आदमी मार कर लौटा।
And David acquired a name when he returned from his smiting the Syrians in the valley of salt, eighteen thousand men.
14 और उसने अदोम में चौकियाँ बिठायीं बल्कि सारे अदोम में चौकियाँ बिठायीं और सब अदूमी दाऊद के ख़ादिम बने और ख़ुदावन्द ने दाऊद को जहाँ कहीं वह गया फ़तह बख़्शी।
And he put garrisons in Edom; throughout all Edom put he garrisons, and all the Edomites became servants to David. And the Lord helped David whithersoever he went.
15 और दाऊद ने कुल इस्राईल पर बादशाहत की और दाऊद अपनी सब र’इयत के साथ अदल — ओ — इन्साफ़ करता था
And David reigned over all Israel; and David did what is just and right unto all his people.
16 और ज़रोयाह का बेटा योआब लश्कर का सरदार था, और अख़ीलूद का बेटा यहूसफ़त मुवर्रिख़ था।
And Joab the son of Zeruyah was over the army; and Jehoshaphat the son of Achilud was recorder;
17 और अख़ीतोब का बेटा सदूक़ और अबीयातर का बेटा अख़ीमलिक काहिन थे और सिरायाह मुंशी था।
And Zadok the son of Achitub, and Achimelech the son of Ebyathar, were priests; and Serayah was scribe;
18 और यहूयदाह का बेटा बनायाह करेतियों और फ़िलिस्तियों का सरदार था, और दाऊद के बेटे कहिन थे।
And Banayahu the son of Yehoyada' was over both the Kerethites and the Pelethites; and David's sons were officers of state.
