2 सला 5
1 अराम के बादशाह के लश्कर का सरदार ना'मान, अपने आक़ा के नज़दीक मु'अज़्ज़िज़ — 'इज़्ज़तदार शख़्स था; क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द ने उसके वसीले से अराम को फ़तह बख़्शी थी। वह ज़बरदस्त सूर्मा भी था, लेकिन कोढ़ी था।
Now was there one Naaman captaine of the hoste of the King of Aram, a great man, and honourable in the sight of his lorde, because that by him the Lord had deliuered the Aramites. He also was a mightie man and valiant, but a leper.
2 और अरामी दल बाँधकर निकले थे, और इस्राईल के मुल्क में से एक छोटी लड़की को क़ैद करके ले आए थे; वह ना'मान की बीवी की ख़ादमा थी।
And the Aramites had gone out by bands, and had taken a litle mayde of the land of Israel, and shee serued Naamans wife.
3 उसने अपनी बीबी से कहा, “काश मेरा आक़ा उस नबी के यहाँ होता, जो सामरिया में है! तो वह उसे उसके कोढ़ से शिफ़ा दे देता।”
And she sayd vnto her mistres, Would God my lord were with the Prophet that is in Samaria, he would soone deliuer him of his leprosie.
4 तो किसी ने अन्दर जाकर अपने मालिक से कहा, “वह लड़की जो इस्राईल के मुल्क की है, ऐसा — ऐसा कहती है।”
And he went in, and tolde his lorde, saying, Thus and thus saith the mayde that is of the land of Israel.
5 तब अराम के बादशाह ने कहा, “तू जा, और मैं इस्राईल के बादशाह को ख़त भेजूँगा।” तब वह रवाना हुआ, और दस क़िन्तार चाँदी और छः हज़ार मिस्क़ाल सोना और दस जोड़े कपड़े अपने साथ ले लिए।
And the King of Aram sayde, Goe thy way thither, and I will send a letter vnto the King of Israel. And he departed, and tooke with him ten talents of siluer, and sixe thousand pieces of golde, and ten change of rayments,
6 और वह उस ख़त को इस्राईल के बादशाह के पास लाया जिसका मज़मून ये था, “ये ख़त जब तुझको मिले, तो जान लेना कि मैंने अपने ख़ादिम ना'मान को तेरे पास भेजा है, ताकि तू उसके कोढ़ से उसे शिफ़ा दे।”
And brought the letter to the King of Israel to this effect, Now when this letter is come vnto thee, vnderstand, that I haue sent thee Naaman my seruant, that thou maiest heale him of his leprosie.
7 जब इस्राईल के बादशाह ने उस ख़त को पढ़ा, तो अपने कपड़े फाड़कर कहा, “क्या मैं ख़ुदा हूँ कि मारूँ और जिलाऊँ, जो ये शख़्स एक आदमी को मेरे पास भेजता है कि उसको कोढ़ से शिफ़ा दूँ? इसलिए अब ज़रा ग़ौर करो, देखो, कि वह किस तरह मुझ से झगड़ने का बहाना ढूँढता है।”
And when the King of Israel had read the letter, he rent his clothes, and sayde, Am I God, to kill and to giue life, that hee doth send to mee, that I should heale a man from his leprosie? wherfore consider, I pray you, and see howe he seeketh a quarel against me.
8 जब मर्द — ए — ख़ुदा इलीशा' ने सुना कि इस्राईल के बादशाह ने अपने कपड़े फाड़े, तो बादशाह को कहला भेजा, “तूने अपने कपड़े क्यूँ फाड़े? अब उसे मेरे पास आने दे, और वह जान लेगा कि इस्राईल में एक नबी है।”
But when Elisha the man of God had heard that the King of Israel had rent his clothes, hee sent vnto the King, saying, Wherefore hast thou rent thy clothes? Let him come now to me, and he shall knowe that there is a Prophet in Israel.
9 तब ना'मान अपने घोड़ों और रथों के साथ आया, और इलीशा' के घर के दरवाज़े पर खड़ा हुआ,
Then Naaman came with his horses, and with his charets, and stoode at the doore of the house of Elisha.
10 और इलीशा' ने एक क़ासिद के ज़रिए' कहला भेजा, “जा और यरदन में सात बार ग़ोता मार, तो तेरा जिस्म फिर बहाल हो जाएगा और तू पाक साफ़ होगा।”
And Elisha sent a messenger vnto him, saying, Go and wash thee in Iorden seuen times, and thy flesh shall come againe to thee, and thou shalt be clensed.
11 पर ना'मान नाराज़ होकर चला गया और कहने लगा, “मुझे यक़ीन था कि वह निकल कर ज़रूर मेरे पास आएगा, और खड़ा होकर ख़ुदावन्द अपने ख़ुदा से दुआ करेगा, और उस जगह के ऊपर अपना हाथ इधर — उधर हिला कर कोढ़ी को शिफ़ा देगा।
But Naaman was wroth and went away, and sayde, Beholde, I thought with my selfe, Hee will surely come out, and stande, and call on the Name of the Lord his God and put his hand on the place, and heale the leprosie.
12 क्या दमिश्क़ के दरिया, अबाना और फ़रफ़र, इस्राईल की सब नदियों से बढ़ कर नहीं हैं? क्या मैं उनमें नहाकर पाक साफ़ नहीं हो सकता?” इसलिए वह लौटा और बड़े ग़ुस्से में चला गया।
Are not Abanah and Pharpar, riuers of Damascus, better then all the waters of Israel? may I not washe mee in them, and bee cleansed? so hee turned, and departed in displeasure.
13 तब उसके मुलाज़िम पास आकर उससे यूँ कहने लगे, “ऐ हमारे बाप, अगर वह नबी कोई बड़ा काम करने का हुक्म तुझे देता, तो क्या तू उसे न करता? इसलिए जब वह तुझ से कहता है कि नहा ले और पाक साफ़ हो जा, तो कितना ज़्यादा इसे मानना चाहिए?”
But his seruants came, and spake vnto him, and sayd, Father, if the Prophet had commanded thee a great thing, wouldest thou not haue done it? howe much rather then, when hee sayth to thee, Wash and be cleane?
14 तब उसने उतरकर नबी के कहने के मुताबिक़ यरदन में सात ग़ोते लगाए, और उसका जिस्म छोटे बच्चे के जिस्म की तरह हो गया और वह पाक साफ़ हुआ।
Then went he downe, and washed him selfe seuen times in Iorden, according to the saying of the man of God: and his flesh came againe, like vnto ye flesh of a litle child, and he was cleane.
15 फिर वह अपनी जिलौ के सब लोगों के साथ नबी के पास लौटा, और उसके सामने खड़ा हुआ और कहने लगा, “देख, अब मैंने जान लिया कि इस्राईल को छोड़ और कहीं इस ज़मीन पर कोई ख़ुदा नहीं। इसलिए अब करम फ़रमाकर अपने ख़ादिम का तोहफ़ा कु़बूल कर।”
And hee turned againe to the man of God, hee, and all his companie, and came and stood before him, and sayd, Behold, now I knowe that there is no God in all the world, but in Israel: now therefore, I pray thee, take a reward of thy seruant.
16 लेकिन उसने जवाब दिया, “ख़ुदावन्द की हयात की क़सम जिसके आगे मैं खड़ा हूँ, मैं कुछ नहीं लूँगा।” और उसने उससे बहुत मजबूर किया कि ले, पर उसने इन्कार किया।
But hee sayde, As the Lord liueth (before whom I stand) I wil not receiue it. And he would haue constrained him to receiue it, but he refused.
17 तब ना'मान ने कहा, “अच्छा, तो मैं तेरी मिन्नत करता हूँ, कि तेरे ख़ादिम को दो ख़च्चरों का बोझ मिट्टी दी जाए' क्यूँकि तेरा ख़ादिम अब से आगे ख़ुदावन्द के सिवा किसी गै़र — मा'बूद के सामने न तो सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानी न ज़बीहा पेश करेगा।
Moreouer Naaman sayde, Shall there not be giuen to thy seruant two mules loade of this earth? for thy seruant will henceforth offer neither burnt sacrifice nor offring vnto any other god, saue vnto the Lord.
18 तब इतनी बात में ख़ुदावन्द तेरे ख़ादिम को मु'आफ़ करे, कि जब मेरा आक़ा इबादत करने को रिम्मोन के बुतख़ाने में जाए और वह मेरे हाथ का सहारा ले, और मैं रिम्मोन के बुतख़ाने में सिज्दे में जाऊँ; तो जब मैं रिम्मोन के बुतख़ाने में सिज्दे में हो जाऊँ, तो ख़ुदावन्द इस बात में तेरे ख़ादिम को मु'आफ़ करे।”
Herein the Lord bee mercifull vnto thy seruant, that when my master goeth into the house of Rimmon, to worship there, and leaneth on mine hand, and I bowe my selfe in the house of Rimmon: when I doe bowe downe, I say, in the house of Rimmon, the Lord be mercifull vnto thy seruant in this point.
19 उसने उससे कहा, “सलामती जा।” तब वह उससे रुख़्सत होकर थोड़ी दूर निकल गया।
Vnto whome he saide, Goe in peace. So he departed from him about halfe a dayes iourney of grounde.
20 लेकिन उस नबी इलीशा' के ख़ादिम जेहाज़ी ने सोचा, “मेरे आक़ा ने अरामी ना'मान को यूँ ही जाने दिया कि जो कुछ वह लाया था उससे न लिया; इसलिए ख़ुदावन्द की हयात की क़सम, मैं उसके पीछे दौड़ जाऊँगा और उससे कुछ न कुछ लूँगा।”
And Gehazi the seruant of Elisha the man of God sayde, Beholde, my master hath spared this Aramite Naaman, receiuing not those things at his hand that he brought: as the Lord liueth, I will runne after him, and take somewhat of him.
21 तब जेहाज़ी ना'मान के पीछे चला। जब ना'मान ने देखा, कि कोई उसके पीछे दौड़ा आ रहा है, तो वह उससे मिलने को रथ पर से उतरा और कहा, “खै़र तो है?”
So Gehazi followed speedily after Naaman. And when Naaman sawe him running after him, he light downe from the charet to meete him, and said, Is all well?
22 उसने कहा, “सब खै़र है! मेरे मालिक ने मुझे ये कहने को भेजा है कि देख, अम्बियाज़ादों में से अभी दो जवान इफ़्राईम के पहाड़ी मुल्क से मेरे पास आ गए हैं; इसलिए ज़रा एक क़िन्तार चाँदी, और दो जोड़े कपड़े उनके लिए दे दे।”
And he answered, All is well: my master hath set me, saying, Behold, there be come to me, euen nowe from mount Ephraim two yong men of the children of the Prophets: giue them, I pray thee, a talent of siluer, and two change of garmets.
23 ना'मान ने कहा, “ख़ुशी से दो क़िन्तार ले।” और वह उससे बज़िद हुआ, और उसने दो क़िन्तार चाँदी दो थैलियों में बाँधी और दो जोड़े कपड़ों के साथ उनको अपने दो नौकरों पर लादा, और वह उनको लेकर उसके आगे — आगे चले।
And Naaman saide, Yea, take two talents: and he compelled him, and bound two talents of siluer in two bagges, with two change of garments, and gaue them vnto two of his seruants, that they might beare them before him.
24 और उसने टीले पर पहुँचकर उनके हाथ से उनको ले लिया और घर में रख दिया, और उन मर्दों को रुख़्सत किया, तब वह चले गए।
And when he came to the towre, he tooke them out of their handes, and laide them in the house, and sent away the men: and they departed.
25 लेकिन ख़ुद अन्दर जाकर अपने आक़ा के सामने खड़ा हो गया। इलीशा' ने उससे कहा, “जेहाज़ी, तू कहाँ से आ रहा है?” उसने कहा, “तेरा ख़ादिम तो कहीं नहीं गया था।”
Then he went in, and stoode before his master. And Elisha said vnto him, Whence commest thou, Gehazi? And he said, Thy seruant went no whither.
26 उसने उससे कहा, क्या मेरा दिल उस वक़्त तेरे साथ न था, जब वह शख़्स तुझ से मिलने को अपने रथ पर से लौटा? क्या रुपये लेने, और पोशाक, और जै़तून के बाग़ों और ताकिस्तानों और भेड़ों और गु़लामों, और लौंडियों के लेने का ये वक़्त है?
But he saide vnto him, Went not mine heart with thee when the man turned againe from his charet to meete thee? Is this a time to take money, and to receiue garments, and oliues, and vineyardes, and sheepe, and oxen, and men seruants, and maide seruants?
27 इसलिए ना'मान का कोढ़ तुझे और तेरी नस्ल को हमेशा लगा रहेगा। इसलिए वह बर्फ़ की तरह सफ़ेद कोढ़ी होकर उसके सामने से चला गया।
The leprosie therefore of Naaman shall cleaue vnto thee, and to thy seede for euer. And he went out from his presence a leper white as snowe.
