1 सला 14
1 उस वक़्त युरब'आम का बेटा अबियाह बीमार पड़ा।
At that time, fell sick, Abijah son of Jeroboam.
2 और युरब'आम ने अपनी बीवी से कहा, “ज़रा उठ कर अपना भेस बदल डाल, ताकि पहचान न हो सके कि तू युरब'आम की बीवी है, और शीलोह को चली जा। देख, अखि़याह नबी वहाँ है जिसने मेरे बारे में कहा था कि मैं इस क़ौम का बादशाह हूँगा।
Then said Jeroboam to his wife—Arise, I pray thee, and feign thyself another, that it be not known, that, thou, art the wife of Jeroboam, —and thou shalt go thy way to Shiloh, lo! there, is Ahijah the prophet, who promised I should be king over this people;
3 और दस रोटियाँ और पपड़ियाँ और शहद का एक मर्तबान अपने साथ ले, और उसके पास जा; वह तुझे बता देगा कि लड़के का क्या हाल होगा।”
and thou shall take with thee ten loaves, and cracknels, and a bottle of honey, and shalt go unto him, —he, will tell thee what shall befall the young man.
4 तब युरब'आम की बीवी ने ऐसा ही किया, और उठकर शीलोह को गई और अख़ियाह के घर पहुँची; लेकिन अखि़याह को कुछ नज़र नहीं आता था, क्यूँकि बुढ़ापे की वजह से उसकी आँखें रह गई थीं।
And the wife of Jeroboam, did so, and arose, and went to Shiloh, and entered the house of Ahijah, —now, Ahijah, could not see, for his eyes were fixed, by reason of his old age.
5 और ख़ुदावन्द ने अखि़याह से कहा, “देख, युरब'आम की बीवी तुझ से अपने बेटे के बारे में पूछने आ रही है, क्यूँकि वह बीमार है। तब तू उससे ऐसा ऐसा कहना, क्यूँकि जब वह अन्दर आएगी तो अपने आपको दूसरी 'औरत बनाएगी।”
But, Yahweh, had said unto Ahijah—Lo! the wife of Jeroboam, coming to enquire something of thee, concerning her son, for he is sick, thus and so, shalt thou speak unto her, —though, when she cometh in, she feign to be a stranger-woman.
6 और जैसे ही वह दरवाज़े से अन्दर आई, और अख़ियाह ने उसके पाँव की आहट सुनी तो उसने उससे कहा, “ऐ युरब'आम की बीवी, अन्दर आ! तू क्यूँ अपने को दूसरी बनाती है? क्यूँकि मैं तो तेरे ही पास सख़्त पैग़ाम के साथ भेजा गया हूँ।
So it came to pass, when Ahijah heard the sound of her feet, as she entered the doorway, that he said—Come in, thou wife of Jeroboam, —wherefore, is it that thou art feigning to be a stranger-woman, seeing that, I, am sent unto thee, with something hard to bear?
7 इसलिए जाकर युरब'आम से कह, 'ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल का ख़ुदा ऐसा फ़रमाता है, हालाँकि मैंने तुझे लोगों में से लेकर सरफ़राज़ किया, और अपनी कौम इस्राईल पर तुझे बादशाह बनाया।
Go, say to Jeroboam—Thus, saith Yahweh, God of Israel, Forasmuch as I exalted thee out of the midst of the people, —and gave thee to be leader over my people Israel;
8 और दाऊद के घराने से हुकूमत छीन ली और तुझे दी; तोभी तू मेरे बन्दे दाऊद की तरह न हुआ, जिसने मेरे हुक्म माने और अपने सारे दिल से मेरी पैरवी की ताकि सिर्फ़ वही करे जो मेरी नज़र में ठीक था,
and rent the kingdom away from the house of David, and gave it to thee, —and yet thou hast not been like my servant David, who kept my commandments, and who followed me, with all his heart, to do only that which was right in mine eyes;
9 लेकिन तू ने उन सभों से जो तुझ से पहले हुए ज़्यादा बदी की, और जाकर अपने लिए और और मा'बूद और ढाले हुए बुत बनाए ताकि मुझे ग़ुस्सा दिलाए; बल्कि तू ने मुझे अपनी पीठ के पीछे फेंका।
but hast made wicked thy doings beyond any who were before thee, —and hast gone and made thee ether gods, even molten images, to provoke me to anger, and hast cast, me, behind thy back,
10 इसलिए देख, मैं युरब'आम के घराने पर बला नाज़िल करूँगा, और युरब'आम की नसल के हर एक लड़के को, यानी हर एक को जो इस्राईल में बन्द है और उसको जो आज़ाद छूटा हुआ है, काट डालूँगा, और युरब'आम के घराने की सफ़ाई कर दूँगा, जैसे कोई गोबर की सफ़ाई करता हो, जब तक वह सब दूर न हो जाए।
therefore, behold me! bringing misfortune against the house of Jeroboam, and I will cut off the meanest pertaining to Jeroboam, whether shut up or left at large, in Israel, —and will consume after the house of Jeroboam, as one consumeth dung, till it be all gone:
11 युरब'आम का जो कोई शहर में मरेगा उसे कुत्ते खाएँगे और जो मैदान में मरेगा उसे हवा के परिन्दे चट कर जाएँगे, क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द ने यह फ़रमाया है।
Him that dieth of Jeroboam in the city, shall, the dogs, eat, and, him that dieth in the field, shall, the birds of heaven, eat, —For, Yahweh, hath spoken.
12 इसलिए तू उठ और अपने घर जा, और जैसे ही तेरा क़दम शहर में पड़ेगा वह लड़का मर जाएगा।
Thou, therefore, arise, go to thine own house, —as thy feet are entering the city, the young man shall die.
13 और सारा इस्राईल उसके लिए रोएगा और उसे दफ़न करेगा क्यूँकि युरब'आम की औलाद में से सिर्फ़ उसी को क़ब्र नसीब होगी, इसलिए कि युरब'आम के घराने में से इसी में कुछ पाया गया जो ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल के ख़ुदा के नज़दीक भला है।
Then shall all Israel lament for him, and bury him, for, this one, pertaining to Jeroboam, shall reach a burying-place, —because there hath been found in him something good toward Yahweh, God of Israel, in the house of Jeroboam.
14 'अलावा इसके ख़ुदावन्द अपनी तरफ़ से इस्राईल के लिए एक ऐसा बादशाह पैदा करेगा जो उसी दिन युरब'आम के घराने को काट डालेगा, लेकिन कब? यह अभी होगा।
Therefore will Yahweh raise up for himself a king over Israel, who will cut off the house of Jeroboam, this day, but why, even now?
15 क्यूँकि ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल को ऐसा मारेगा जैसे सरकण्डा पानी में हिलाया जाता है, और वह इस्राईल को इस अच्छे मुल्क से जो उसने उनके बाप दादा को दिया था उखाड़ फेंकेगा, और उनको दरिया — ए — फ़ुरात के पार बिखेर देगा; क्यूँकि उन्होंने अपने लिए यसीरतें बनाई और ख़ुदावन्द को ग़ुस्सा दिलाया है।
Therefore will Yahweh smite Israel, as a reed shaketh in water, and will root out Israel, from off this goodly soil, which he gave unto their fathers, and will scatter them beyond the River (Euphrates), —because they have made their Sacred Stems, provoking Yahweh to anger:
16 और वह इस्राईल को युरब'आम के उन गुनाहों की वजह से छोड़ देगा जो उसने ख़ुद किए, और जिनसे उसने इस्राईल से गुनाह कराया।”
That he may deliver up Israel, —on account of the sin of Jeroboam, which he committed, and which he caused, Israel, to commit.
17 और युरब'आम की बीवी उठकर रवाना हुई और तिरज़ा में आई, और जैसे ही वह घर की चौखट पर पहुँची वह लड़का मर गया;
Then arose the wife of Jeroboam, and went her way and entered Tirzah, —as, she, was coming into the entrance hall, the young man died.
18 और सारे इस्राईल ने जैसा ख़ुदावन्द ने अपने बन्दे अख़ियाह नबी की ज़रिए' फ़रमाया था, उसे दफ़न करके उस पर नौहा किया।
And, when they buried him, all Israel lamented him, —according to the word of Yahweh, which he spake through his servant Ahijah the prophet.
19 युरब'आम का बाक़ी हाल कि वह किस किस तरह लड़ा और उसने क्यूँकर हुकूमत की, वह इस्राईल के बादशाहों की तवारीख़ की किताब में लिखा है।
Now, the rest of the story of Jeroboam, how he warred, and how he reigned, behold them! written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Israel.
20 और जितनी मुद्दत तक युरब'आम ने हुकूमत की वह बाईस साल की थी, और वह अपने बाप दादा के साथ सो गया और उसका बेटा नदब उसकी जगह बादशाह हुआ।
And, the days which Jeroboam reigned, were twenty-two years, —and he slept with his fathers, and, Nadab his son, reigned, in his stead.
21 सुलेमान का बेटा रहुब'आम यहूदाह में बादशाह था। रहुब'आम इकतालीस साल का था, जब वह बादशाही करने लगा और उसने येरूशलेम यानी उस शहर में, जिसे ख़ुदावन्द ने बनी — इस्राईल के सब क़बीलों में से चुना था ताकि अपना नाम वहाँ रख्खे, सतरह साल हुकूमत की; और उसकी माँ का नाम ना'मा था जो 'अमोनी 'औरत थी।
And, Rehoboam, son of Solomon, reigned in Judah, —forty-one years old, was Rehoboam when he began to reign, and seventeen years, reigned he in Jerusalem, the city which Yahweh had chosen to put his Name there, out of all the tribes of Israel, and, his mother’s name, was Naamah, the Ammonitess.
22 और यहूदाह ने ख़ुदावन्द के सामने बदी की और जो गुनाह उनके बाप — दादा ने किए थे उनसे भी ज़्यादा उन्होंने अपने गुनाहों से, जो उनसे सरज़द हुए, उसकी ग़ैरत को भड़काया।
And Judah did the thing that was wicked in the eyes of Yahweh, —and provoked him to jealousy, above all that their fathers had done, with their sins which they committed.
23 क्यूँकि उन्होंने अपने लिए हर एक ऊँचे टीले पर और हर एक हरे दरख़्त के नीचे, ऊँचे मक़ाम और सुतून और यसीरतें बनाई,
And, they also, built for themselves high places and pillars, and Sacred Stems, —upon every high hill, and under every green tree.
24 और उस मुल्क में लूती भी थे। वह उन क़ौमों के सब मकरूह काम करते थे, जिनको ख़ुदावन्द ने बनी इस्राईल के सामने से निकाल दिया था।
Moreover also, there were, male devotees, in the land, —they did according to all the abominable practices of the nations, which Yahweh dispossessed from before the sons of Israel.
25 रहुब'आम बादशाह के पाँचवें साल में शाह — ए — मिस्र सीसक ने येरूशलेम पर पेश की।
And it came to pass, in the fifth year of King Rehoboam, that Shishak king of Egypt, came up against Jerusalem;
26 और उसने ख़ुदावन्द के घर के ख़ज़ानों और शाही महल के ख़ज़ानों को ले लिया, बल्कि उसने सब कुछ ले लिया, और सोने की वह सब ढालें भी ले गया जो सुलेमान ने बनाई थीं।
and took away the treasures of the house of Yahweh, and the treasures of the house of the king, yea, the whole, took he away, —and took away all the bucklers of gold, which, Solomon, had made.
27 और रहुब'आम बादशाह ने उनके बदले पीतल की ढालें बनाई और उनको मुहाफ़िज़ सिपाहियों के सरदारों के हवाले किया जो शाही महल के दरवाज़े पर पहरा देते थे।
So King Rehoboam made, in their stead, bucklers of bronze, —and committed them unto the hand of the captains of the runners, who kept guard at the entrance of the house of the king.
28 और जब बादशाह ख़ुदावन्द के घर में जाता तो वह सिपाही उनको लेकर चलते, और फिर उनको वापस लाकर सिपाहियों की कोठरी में रख देते थे।
And so it was, whensoever the king went into the house of Yahweh, the runners bare them, and then brought them back into the chamber of the runners.
29 और रहुब'आम का बाक़ी हाल और सब कुछ जो उसने किया, तो क्या वह यहूदाह के बादशाहों की तवारीख़ की किताब में लिखा नहीं है?
Now, the rest of the story of Rehoboam, and all that he did, are, they, not written in the book of the Chronicles of the Kings of Judah?
30 और रहुब'आम और युरब'आम में बराबर जंग रही।
And there was, war, between Rehoboam and Jeroboam, continually.
31 और रहुब'आम अपने बाप — दादा के साथ सो गया और दाऊद के शहर में अपने बाप — दादा के साथ दफ़न हुआ, उसकी माँ का नाम ना'मा था जो 'अम्मोनी 'औरत थी; और उसका बेटा अबियाम उसकी जगह बादशाह हुआ।
So then Rehoboam slept with his fathers, and was buried with his fathers in the city of David, and, the name of his mother, was Naamah the Ammonitess, —and, Abijah his son, reigned, in his stead.
