1 अब दाऊद बुड्ढा और उम्र — दराज़ हो गया था, तब उसने अपने बेटे सुलेमान को इस्राईल का बादशाह बनाया।
And David is old, and satisfied with days, and causeth his son Solomon to reign over Israel,
2 उसने इस्राईल के सब सरदारों को, काहिनों और लावियों समेत इकट्ठा किया।
and gathereth all the heads of Israel, and the priests, and the Levites;
3 तीस बरस के और उससे ज़्यादा उम्र के लावी गिने गए, और उनकी गिनती एक एक आदमी को शुमार करके अठतीस हज़ार थी।
and the Levites are numbered from a son of thirty years and upward, and their number, by their polls, is of mighty men thirty and eight thousand.
4 इनमें से चौबीस हज़ार ख़ुदावन्द के घर के काम की निगरानी पर मुक़र्रर हुए, और छ: हज़ार सरदार और मुन्सिफ़ थे,
Of these to preside over the work of the house of Jehovah [are] twenty and four thousand, and officers and judges six thousand,
5 और चार हज़ार दरबान थे, और चार हज़ार उन साज़ों से ख़ुदावन्द की ता'रीफ़ करते थे जिनको मैंने या'नी दाऊद ने ता'रीफ़ और बड़ाई के लिए बनाया था
and four thousand gatekeepers, and four thousand giving praise to Jehovah, 'with instruments that I made for praising,' [saith David.]
6 और दाऊद ने उनको जैरसोन, क़िहात और मिरारी नाम बनी लावी के फ़रीक़ों में तक़्सीम किया।
And David distributeth them into courses: Of the sons of Levi: of Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
7 जैरसोनियों में से यह थे: ला'दान और सिम'ई।
Of the Gershonite: Laadan and Shimei.
8 ला'दान के बेटे: सरदार यहीएल और जैताम और यूएल, यह तीन थे।
Sons of Laadan: the head [is] Jehiel, and Zetham, and Joel, three.
9 सिम'ई के बेटे: सलूमियत और हज़ीएल और हारान, यह तीन थे। यह ला'दान के आबाई ख़ान्दानों के सरदार थे।
Sons of Shimei [are] Shelomith, and Haziel, and Haran, three; these [are] heads of the fathers of Laadan.
10 और सिम'ई के बेटे यहत, ज़ीना और य'ऊस और बरी'आ, यह चारों सिम'ई के बेटे थे।
And sons of Shimei [are] Jahath, Zina, and Jeush, and Beriah; these [are] sons of Shimei, four.
11 पहला यहत था, और ज़ीज़ा दूसरा, और य'ऊस और बरी'आ के बेटे बहुत न थे, इस वजह से वह एक ही आबाई ख़ान्दान में गिने गए।
And Jahath is the head, and Zizah the second, and Jeush and Beriah have not multiplied sons, and they become the house of a father by one numbering.
12 क़िहात के बेटे: 'अमराम, इज़हार, हबरून और 'उज़्ज़ीएल, यह चार थे।
Sons of Kohath [are] Amram, Izhar, Hebron, and Uzziel, four.
13 अमराम के बेटे: हारून और मूसा थे। हारून अलग किया गया, ताकि वह और उसके बेटे हमेशा पाकतरीन चीज़ों की पाक किया करें, और हमेशा ख़ुदावन्द के आगे ख़ुशबू जलाएँ और उसकी ख़िदमत करें, और उसका नाम लेकर बरकत दें।
Sons of Amram: Aaron and Moses; and Aaron is separated for his sanctifying the holy of holies, he and his sons — unto the age, to make perfume before Jehovah, to serve Him, and to bless in His name — unto the age.
14 रहा मर्द — ए — ख़ुदा मूसा, इसलिए उसके बेटे लावी के क़बीले में गिने गए।
As to Moses, the man of God, his sons are called after the tribe of Levi.
15 मूसा के बेटे: जैरसोम और इली'एलियाज़र थे।
Sons of Moses: Gershom and Eliezer.
16 और जैरसोम का बेटा सबुएल सरदार था,
Sons of Gershom: Shebuel the head.
17 और इली'एलियाज़र का बेटा रहबियाह सरदार था; और इली'एलियाज़र के और बेटे न थे, लेकिन रहबियाह के बहुत से बेटे थे।
And sons of Eliezer are Rehabiah the head, and Eliezer had no other sons, and the sons of Rehabiah have multiplied exceedingly.
18 इज़हार का बेटा सलूमीत सरदार था।
Sons of Izhar: Shelomith the head.
19 हबरून के बेटों में पहला यरयाह, अमरियाह दूसरा, यहज़ीएल तीसरा, और यकीमि'आम चौथा था।
Sons of Hebron: Jeriah the head, Amariah the second, Jahaziel the third, and Jekameam the fourth.
20 उज़्ज़ीएल के बेटों में अव्वल मीकाह सरदार और यस्सियाह दूसरा था।
Sons of Uzziel: Micah the head, and Ishshiah, the second.
21 मिरारी के बेटे: महली और मूशी। महली के बेटे: इली'एलियाज़र और क़ीस थे।
Sons of Merari: Mahli and Mushi; sons of Mahli: Eleazar and Kish.
22 और इली'एलियाज़र मर गया और उसके कोई बेटा न था सिर्फ़ बेटियाँ थीं, और उनके भाई क़ीस के बेटों ने उनसे ब्याह किया।
And Eleazar dieth, and he had no sons, but daughters, and sons of Kish their brethren take them.
23 मूशी के बेटे: महली और 'ऐदर और यरीमोत, येतीन थे।
Sons of Mushi: Mahli, and Eder, and Jerimoth, three.
24 लावी के बेटे यही थे, जो अपने अपने आबाई ख़ान्दान के मुताबिक़ थे। उनके आबाई ख़ान्दानों के सरदार जैसा वह नाम — ब — नाम एक एक करके गिने गए यही हैं। वह बीस बरस और उससे ऊपर की उम्र से ख़ुदावन्द के घर की ख़िदमत का काम करते थे।
These [are] sons of Levi, by the house of their fathers, heads of the fathers, by their appointments, in the number of names, by their polls, doing the work for the service of the house of Jehovah, from a son of twenty years and upward,
25 क्यूँकि दाऊद ने कहा कि ख़ुदावन्द इस्राईल के ख़ुदा ने अपने लोगों को आराम दिया है, और वह हमेशा तक येरूशलेम में सुकूनत करेगा।
for David said, 'Jehovah, God of Israel, hath given rest to His people, and He doth tabernacle in Jerusalem unto the age;'
26 और लावियों को भी घर और उसकी ख़िदमत के सब बर्तनों को फिर कभी उठाना न पड़ेगा।
and also of the Levites, 'None [are] to bear the tabernacle and all its vessels for its service;'
27 क्यूँकि दाऊद की पिछली बातों के मुताबिक़ बनी लावी जो बीस बरस और उससे ज़्यादा उम्र के थे, गिने गए।
for by the last words of David they [took] the number of the sons of Levi from a son of twenty years and upward,
28 क्यूँकि उनका काम यह था कि ख़ुदावन्द के घर की ख़िदमत के वक़्त, सहनों और कोठरियों में और सब मुक़द्दस चीज़ों के पाक करने में, या'नी ख़ुदा के घर की ख़िदमत के काम में, बनी हारून की मदद करें;
for their station [is] at the side of the sons of Aaron, for the service of the house of Jehovah, over the courts, and over the chambers, and over the cleansing of every holy thing, and the work of the service of the house of God,
29 और नज़्र की रोटी का, और मैदे की नज़्र की क़ुर्बानी का ख़्वाह वह बेख़मीरी रोटियों या तवे पर की पकी हुई चीज़ों या तली हुई चीज़ों की हो, और हर तरह के तौल और नाप का काम करें।
and for the bread of the arrangement, and for fine flour for present, and for the thin unleavened cakes, and for [the work of] the pan, and for that which is fried, and for all [liquid] measure and [solid] measure;
30 और हर सुबह और शाम को खड़े होकर ख़ुदावन्द की शुक्रगुज़ारी और बड़ाई करें,
and to stand, morning by morning, to give thanks, and to give praise to Jehovah, and so at evening;
31 और सब्तों और नये चाँदों और मुक़र्ररा 'ईदों में, हमेशा ख़ुदावन्द के सामने पूरी ता'दाद में सब सोख़्तनी क़ुर्बानियाँ उस क़ाइदे के मुताबिक़ जो उनके बारे में है पेश करें।
and for all the burnt-offerings — burnt-offerings to Jehovah for sabbaths, for new moons, and for appointed seasons, by number, according to the ordinance upon them continually, before Jehovah.
32 और ख़ुदावन्द के घर की ख़िदमत को अन्जाम देने के लिए ख़ेमा — ए — इजितमा'अ की हिफ़ाज़त और मक़दिस की निगरानी और अपने भाई बनी हारून की इता'अत करें।
And they have kept the charge of the tent of meeting, and the charge of the sanctuary, and the charge of the sons of Aaron, their brethren, for the service of the house of Jehovah.
