1 और सूर के बादशाह हीराम ने दाऊद के क़ासिद और उसके लिए महल बनाने के लिए देवदार के लट्ठे और राजगीर और बढ़ई भेजे।
Also, Hiram, the king of Tyre, sent messengers to David, and cedar wood, and artisans of walls and of wood, so that they might build a house for him.
2 और दाऊद जान गया कि ख़ुदावन्द ने उसे बनी — इस्राईल का बादशाह बना कर क़ाईम कर दिया है, क्यूँकि उसकी हुकूमत उसके इस्राईली लोगों की ख़ातिर मुम्ताज़ की गई थी।
And David realized that the Lord had confirmed him as king over Israel, and that his kingdom had been lifted up over his people Israel.
3 और दाऊद ने येरूशलेम में और 'औरतें ब्याह लीं, और उससे और बेटे बेटियाँ पैदा हुए।
Also, David took other wives in Jerusalem. And he conceived sons and daughters.
4 और उसके उन बच्चों के नाम जो येरूशलेम में पैदा हुए यह हैं: सम्मू'अ और सोबाब और नातन और सुलेमान,
And these are the names of those who were born to him in Jerusalem: Shammua and Shobab, Nathan and Solomon,
5 और इब्हार और इलिसू'अ और इलफ़ालत,
Ibhar, and Elishua, and Elpelet,
6 और नौजा और नफ़ज और यफ़ी'आ,
as well as Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia,
7 और इलिसमा' और और बा'लयद'अ और इलिफ़ालत।
Elishama, and Beeliada, and Eliphelet.
8 और जब फ़िलिस्तियों ने सुना कि दाऊद मम्सूह होकर सारे इस्राईल का बादशाह बना है तो सब फ़िलिस्ती दाऊद की तलाश में चढ़ आये और दाऊद यह सुनकर उनके मुक़ाबिले को निकला।
Then, hearing that David had been anointed as king over all of Israel, all the Philistines ascended so that they might seek him. But when David had heard of it, he went out to meet them.
9 और फ़िलिस्तियों ने आकर रिफ़ाईम की वादी में धावा मारा।
Now the Philistines, arriving, spread out in the Valley of the Rephaim.
10 तब दाऊद ने ख़ुदा से सवाल किया, “क्या मैं फ़िलिस्तियों पर चढ़ जाऊँ? क्या तू उनको मेरे हाथ में कर देगा?” ख़ुदावन्द ने उसे फ़रमाया, “चढ़ जा क्यूँकि मैं उनको तेरे हाथ में कर दूँगा।”
And so David consulted the Lord, saying, “Shall I ascend to the Philistines, and will you deliver them into my hand?” And the Lord said to him, “Ascend, and I will deliver them into your hand.”
11 तब वह बा'ल पराज़ीम में आये और दाऊद ने वहीं उनको मारा और दाऊद ने कहा, “ख़ुदा ने मेरे हाथ से दुश्मनों को ऐसा चीरा, जैसे पानी चाक हो जाता है।” इस वजह से उन्होंने उस मक़ाम का नाम बा'ल पराज़ीम रख्खा।
And when they had ascended to Baal-perazim, David struck them there, and he said: “God has divided my enemies by my hand, just as waters are divided.” And therefore the name of that place was called Baal-perazim.
12 और वह अपने बुतों को वहाँ छोड़ गए, और वह दाऊद के हुक्म से आग में जला दिए गए।
And they left behind their gods in that place, and so David ordered them to be burned.
13 और फ़िलिस्तियों ने फिर उस वादी में धावा मारा।
And then, at another time, the Philistines invaded, and they spread out in the valley.
14 और दाऊद ने फिर ख़ुदा से सवाल किया, और ख़ुदा ने उससे कहा, “तू उनका पीछा न कर, बल्कि उनके पास से कतरा कर निकल जा, और तूत के पेड़ों के सामने से उन पर हमला कर।
And again, David consulted God. And God said to him: “You shall not ascend after them. Draw away from them. And you shall come against them opposite the balsam trees.
15 और जब तू तूत के दरख़्तों की फुन्गियों पर चलने की जैसी आवाज़ सुने, तब लड़ाई को निकलना क्यूँकि ख़ुदा तेरे आगे आगे फ़िलिस्तियों के लश्कर को मारने के लिए निकला है।”
And when you hear a sound approaching in the tops of the balsam trees, then you shall go forth to war. For God has gone forth before you, so that he may strike down the army of the Philistines.”
16 और दाऊद ने जैसा ख़ुदा ने उसे फ़रमाया था किया और उन्होंने फ़िलिस्तियों की फ़ौज को जिबा'ऊन से जज़र तक क़त्ल किया।
Therefore, David did just as God had instructed him. And he struck down the army of the Philistines, from Gibeon as far as Gazera.
17 और दाऊद की शोहरत सब मुल्कों में फ़ैल गई, और ख़ुदावन्द ने सब क़ौमों पर उसका ख़ौफ़ बिठा दिया।
And the name of David became well-known in all the regions. And the Lord placed the fear of him over all the nations.
