Захарія 7
1 І сталося, у четвертому році царя Да́рія було Господнє слово до Заха́рія четвертого дня дев'ятого місяця, кіслева.
In the fourth year of the reign of King Darius, on the fourth day of Chislev, the ninth month, the message of the Lord came to Zechariah.
2 І послав Бет-Ел Сар'ецера й Реґем-Ме́леха та людей його, щоб Господа вблага́ти,
The city of Bethel had sent Sharezer and Regem-melech and their men, to entreat the favor of the Lord,
3 щоб сказати священикам, які в домі Господа Саваота, та пророкам, говорячи: „Чи я маю плакати п'ятого місяця та по́стити, як я робив це багато ро́ків?“
and to ask the priests of the house of the Lord of hosts, and the prophets “Should I continue to mourn in the fifth month, separating myself, as I have done for many years?”
4 І було́ слово Господа Саваота таке:
Then this message of the Lord of hosts came to me:
5 „Говори до всього наро́ду землі й до священиків, кажучи: Якщо ви по́стили та лементува́ли п'ятого й сьомого місяця, і то сімдеся́т років чи то ви по́стили для Мене?
Tell all the people of the land and the priests, “When you fasted and mourned in the fifth and in the seventh month, for these seventy years, did you really fast for me?
6 А коли ви їсте та коли ви п'єте́, чи ж то не собі ви їсте й не собі ви п'єте́?
When you eat and when you drink, do you not eat for yourselves, and drink for yourselves?
7 Чи ж це не ті слова́, які Господь виголо́шував через да́вніх пророків, коли Єрусалим був насе́лений та спокійний, і його міста́ навколо нього, і пі́вдень, і рівни́на були насе́лені?“
Wasn’t it this which the Lord proclaimed by the earlier prophets, when Jerusalem was inhabited and prosperous, and her towns surrounding her and the Negreb and the Shephelah were inhabited?”
8 І було до Заха́рія слово Господнє таке:
The Lord gave this message to Zechariah:
9 „Так говорить Господь Саваот, промовляючи: „Судіть суд по правді, і чиніть один о́дному милосердя та милість.
The Lord of hosts says, execute true judgments. Show kindness and mercy to each other.
10 А вдови́ й сироти́, чужи́нця та вбогого не гнобі́ть, і не ду́майте зла один о́дному в серці своєму!“
Do not oppress the widow or the orphan, the resident foreigner or the poor. Let none of you devise evil against another in your hearts.
11 Та вони не хотіли слу́хати, і відверну́ли своє раме́но від Мене, а ву́ха свої вчинили тяжки́ми, щоб не слу́хати,
But they refused to listen, and turned a stubborn shoulder, and stopped their ears so they wouldn’t hear.
12 і серце своє зробили кре́менем, щоб не слу́хати Зако́ну, та тих слів, що послав Господь Саваот Своїм Духом через давніх пророків. І був великий гнів від Господа Саваота.
They made their hearts as hard as stone so they wouldn’t accept the teaching and the words that the Lord of hosts had sent by his spirit through the earlier prophets. Great was the anger of the Lord of hosts:
13 „І сталося, як Я кликав, то вони не слу́халися, так вони будуть кликати, та не буду Я слухати, каже Господь Савао́т.
I called and they would not hear, so they call and I do not hear, says the Lord of hosts.
14 І розвіяв Я їх по всіх наро́дах, які не знали їх, а край був спусто́шений по них, так що не було́ такого, хто б перехо́див чи верта́вся, і вони зробили улю́блений край спусто́шенням“.
I scattered them by a whirlwind out among nations unknown to them. The land was left desolate behind them, with no one crossing or returning, for they made the pleasant land a desolation.
