Псалми 8

1 Для дириґента хору. На інструме́нті ґатійськім. Псалом Давидів. Господи, Владико наш, — яке то величне на ці́лій землі Твоє Йме́ння, — Слава Твоя понад небесами!

For the Leader; upon the Gittith. A Psalm of David. O LORD, our Lord, how glorious is Thy name in all the earth! whose majesty is rehearsed above the heavens.

2 З уст дітей й немовля́т учинив Ти хвалу́ ради Своїх ворогів, щоб зни́щити проти́вника й ме́сника.

Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast Thou founded strength, because of Thine adversaries; that Thou mightest still the enemy and the avenger.

3 Коли бачу Твої небеса́ — діло пальців Твоїх, місяця й зо́рі, що Ти встанови́в, —

When I behold Thy heavens, the work of Thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which Thou hast established;

4 то що є люди́на, що Ти пам'ятаєш про неї, і син лю́дський, про якого Ти зга́дуєш?

What is man, that Thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that Thou thinkest of him?

5 А однак учинив Ти його мало меншим від Бога, і славою й ве́личчю Ти корону́єш його!

Yet Thou hast made him but little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.

6 Учинив Ти його воло́дарем тво́рива рук Своїх, все під но́ги йому вмісти́в:

Thou hast made him to have dominion over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put all things under His feet:

7 худобу дрібну́ та биків, їх усіх, а також степови́х звірів диких,

Sheep and oxen, all of them, yea, and the beasts of the field;

8 птаство небесне та риби морські́, і все, що морськи́ми доро́гами ходить!

The fowl of the air, and the fish of the sea; whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.

9 Господи, Боже наш, — яке то вели́чне на ці́лій землі Твоє Йме́ння!

O LORD, our Lord, how glorious is Thy name in all the earth!
