Псалми 34
1 Давидів, коли він удавав був причи́нного перед Авімелехом, що вигнав його, і той пішов. Я благословля́тиму Господа кожного ча́су, хвала́ Йому за́всіди в у́стах моїх!
[A Psalm] of David; when he changed his behaviour before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless Jehovah at all times; his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
2 Душа моя буде хвалитися Господом, — хай це почують слухня́ні, і нехай звеселяться!
My soul shall make its boast in Jehovah: the meek shall hear, and rejoice.
3 Зо мною звели́чуйте Господа, і підносьте Ім'я́ Його ра́зом!
Magnify Jehovah with me, and let us exalt his name together.
4 Шукав я був Господа, — і Він озвався до мене, і від усіх небезпе́к мене ви́зволив.
I sought Jehovah, and he answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5 Приглядайтесь до Нього — й зася́єте, і не посоро́мляться ваші обличчя!
They looked unto him, and were enlightened, and their faces were not confounded.
6 Цей убогий взивав, — і Господь його ви́слухав, і від усіх його бід його ви́зволив.
This afflicted one called, and Jehovah heard [him], and saved him out of all his troubles.
7 Ангол Господній табо́ром стає кругом тих, хто боїться його́, — і визво́лює їх.
The angel of Jehovah encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.
8 Скушту́йте й побачте, який добрий Госпо́дь, блаженна люди́на, що надію на Нього кладе́!
Taste and see that Jehovah is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him!
9 Бійтеся Господа, всі святії Його, бо ті, що бояться Його, недостатку не мають!
Fear Jehovah, ye his saints; for there is no want to them that fear him.
10 Левчуки́ бідні й голодні, а ті, хто пошукує Господа, недостатку не чують в усьому добрі́.
The young lions are in need and suffer hunger; but they that seek Jehovah shall not want any good.
11 Ходіть, діти, послухайте мене, — стра́ху Господнього я вас навчу!
Come, ye sons, hearken unto me: I will teach you the fear of Jehovah.
12 Хто та людина, що хоче життя, що любить дні довгі, щоб бачити добро́?
What man is he that desireth life, [and] loveth days, that he may see good?
13 Свого язика́ бережи від лихого, а уста свої — від гово́рений пі́дступу.
Keep thy tongue from evil, and thy lips from speaking guile;
14 Відступися від злого і добре чини, миру шукай і женися за ним!
Depart from evil, and do good; seek peace, and pursue it.
15 Очі Господні на праведних, уші ж Його — на їхній зойк,
The eyes of Jehovah are upon the righteous, and his ears are toward their cry;
16 Господнє лице — на злочинців, щоб ви́нищити їхню пам'ять з землі.
The face of Jehovah is against them that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth:
17 Коли пра́ведні кли́чуть, то їх чує Господь, і з усіх утисків їхніх визво́лює їх.
[The righteous] cry, and Jehovah heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.
18 Господь зламаносе́рдим близьки́й, і впоко́рених духом спасає.
Jehovah is nigh to those that are of a broken heart, and saveth them that are of a contrite spirit.
19 Багато лихого для праведного, та його визволя́є Господь з них усіх:
Many are the adversities of the righteous, but Jehovah delivereth him out of them all:
20 Він пильнує всі кості його, — із них жо́дна не зламається!
He keepeth all his bones; not one of them is broken.
21 Зло безбожному смерть заподіє, і винними будуть усі, хто нена́видить праведного.
Evil shall destroy the wicked; and they that hate the righteous shall bear their guilt.
22 Господь ви́зволить душу рабів Своїх, і винні не будуть усі, хто вдається до Нього!
Jehovah redeemeth the soul of his servants; and none of them that trust in him shall bear guilt.
