1 І взяли Коре́й, син Їцгара, сина Кегата, сина Левієвого, і Дата́н, і Авіро́н, сини Еліявові, та Он, син Пелета, сини Руви́мові,
Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:
2 та й повстали проти Мойсея, а з ними двісті й п'ятдеся́т мужа Ізраїлевих синів, начальники громади, закли́кувані на збори, люди вельможні.
And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:
3 І зібра́лися вони на Мойсея та на Ааро́на, та й сказали до них: „До́сить вам, бо вся громада — усі вони святі, а серед них Госпо́дь! І чому́ ви несе́теся понад зборами Господніми?“
And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, All of you take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the LORD is among them: wherefore then lift all of you up yourselves above the congregation of the LORD?
4 І почув це Мойсей, та й упав на обличчя своє.
And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:
5 І промовив він до Коре́я та до всієї громади його, говорячи: „Уранці Господь дасть знати, хто́ Його та хто́ святий, щоб набли́зити його до Себе; а кого вибере, того Він і набли́зить до Себе.
And he spoke unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even tomorrow the LORD will show who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he has chosen will he cause to come near unto him.
6 Зробіть ви оце: візьміть собі кадильниці, Коре́ю та вся громадо твоя́,
This do; Take you censers, Korah, and all his company;
7 і дайте в них огню та покладіть на них кадила перед Господнє лице взавтра. І станеться, — той чоловік, що Господь його вибере, — він святий. До́сить вам, Левієві сини!“
And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the LORD tomorrow: and it shall be that the man whom the LORD does choose, he shall be holy: all of you take too much upon you, all of you sons of Levi.
8 І сказав Мойсей до Корея: „Слухайте ж, Левієві сини, —
And Moses said unto Korah, Hear, I pray you, all of you sons of Levi:
9 чи вам мало, що Бог Ізраїлів відділив вас від Ізраїлевої громади, щоб набли́зити вас до Се́бе, і щоб ви виконували службу Господньої скинії, і стояли перед громадою, щоб служити їй?
Seems it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel has separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the LORD, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them?
10 І Він набли́зив тебе та всіх братів твоїх, Левієвих синів, із тобою; а ти будеш домагатися ще й свяще́нства?
And he has brought you near to him, and all your brethren the sons of Levi with you: and seek all of you the priesthood also?
11 Тому ти та вся громада твоя змовилися проти Господа. А Ааро́н, — що́ він, що ви ремствуєте проти нього?“
For which cause both you and all your company are gathered together against the LORD: and what is Aaron, that all of you murmur against him?
12 I послав Мойсей та Ааро́н закли́кати Дата́на й Авіро́на, синів Еліявових, та сказали вони: „Не ви́йдемо!
And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab: which said, We will not come up:
13 Чи мало того, що ти вивів нас із кра́ю, який тече́ молоком та медом, щоб повбивати нас у пустині? Хочеш ще панувати над нами, щоб бути також вельмо́жею?
Is it a small thing that you have brought us up out of a land that flows with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except you make yourself altogether a prince over us?
14 Ти не впровадив нас ані до кра́ю, що тече молоком та медом, ані не дав нам на власність поля́ та виноградники. Чи ти ви́береш очі цим лю́дям? Не вийдемо!“
Moreover you have not brought us into a land that flows with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: will you put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.
15 А Мойсей сильно запалився, та й сказав до Господа: „Не обернися до їхнього прино́шення! Я не взяв від них жодного осла, і зла не вчинив жодному з них!“
And Moses was very angry, and said unto the LORD, Respect not you their offering: I have not taken one ass from them, neither have I hurt one of them.
16 І сказав Мойсей до Коре́я: „Ти та вся громада твоя будьте перед Господнім лицем, ти й вони та Ааро́н узавтра.
And Moses said unto Korah, Be you and all your company before the LORD, you, and they, and Aaron, tomorrow:
17 І візьміть кожен свою кади́льницю, і покладіть на неї кадила та й принесе́те перед Господнє лице кожен кади́льницю свою, двісті й п'ятдеся́т кадильниць, і ти та Ааро́н, кожен кадильницю свою“.
And take every man his censer, and put incense in them, and bring all of you before the LORD every man his censer, two hundred and fifty censers; you also, and Aaron, each of you his censer.
18 І взяли кожен кадильницю свою, і поклали на них огню, і поклали на неї кадила, та й стали при вході скинії заповіту, а також Мойсей та Аарон.
And they took every man his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the congregation with Moses and Aaron.
19 І Коре́й зібрав на них усю громаду до входу скинії заповіту. І показалася слава Господня всій громаді!
And Korah gathered all the congregation against them unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the glory of the LORD appeared unto all the congregation.
20 І промовив Господь до Мойсея та до Аароиа, говорячи:
And the LORD spoke unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
21 „Відділіться від цієї громади, — Я винищу їх умить!“
Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.
22 А вони попа́дали на обличчя свої та й сказали: „Боже, Боже духів і кожного тіла! Як згрішить один чоловік, чи Ти будеш гніватися на всю громаду?“
And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and will you be angry with all the congregation?
23 І Господь промовляв до Мойсея, говорячи:
And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
24 „Скажи до громади, говорячи: Відступіться зо всіх боків від місця ме́шкання Коре́я, Дата́на й Авіро́на!“
Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
25 І встав Мойсей, і пішов до Датана та Авірона, і пішли за ним ста́рші Ізраїлеві.
And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.
26 І він промовляв до громади, говорячи: „Відступіть від наметів тих несправедливих людей, і не доторкніться до всьо́го, що їхнє, щоб і ви не загинули за всі їхні гріхи!“
And he spoke unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of their's, lest all of you be consumed in all their sins.
27 І вони відступи́лися від місця ме́шкання Корея, Датана й Авірона зо всіх боків; а Дата́н та Авіро́н вийшли, і стояли при вході наметів своїх, і жінки́ їх, і сини їх, та діти їхні.
So they got up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
28 І сказав Мойсей: „Оцим пізнаєте, що Господь послав мене зробити всі діла́ ці, що вони не з моєї ви́гадки.
And Moses said, Hereby all of you shall know that the LORD has sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.
29 Якщо вони повмирають, як умирає кожна люди́на, і їх спіткає доля кожної люди́ни, то не Господь послав мене!
If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the LORD has not sent me.
30 А коли Господь створить щось нове́, і земля відкриє уста свої та й поглине їх та все, що їхнє, і вони зі́йдуть живі до шео́лу, то пізнаєте, що люди обра́зили Господа“. (Sheol h7585)
But if the LORD make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then all of you shall understand that these men have provoked the LORD. (Sheol h7585)
31 І сталося, як скінчи́в він говорити всі ці слова́, то розступи́лася та земля, що під ними!
And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
32 А земля відкрила свої уста, та й поглинула їх, і доми́ їхні, і кожну люди́ну, що Кореєва, та ввесь їх має́ток.
And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
33 І зійшли вони та все, що їхнє, живі до шео́лу, і накрила їх земля, і вони погинули з-посеред збору! (Sheol h7585)
They, and all that appertained to them, went down alive into the pit, and the earth closed upon them: and they perished from among the congregation. (Sheol h7585)
34 А ввесь Ізра́їль, що був навко́ло них, повтікав на їхній крик, бо казали: „Щоб земля не поглинула й нас!“
And all Israel that were round about them fled at the cry of them: for they said, Lest the earth swallow us up also.
35 І вийшов огонь від Господа, та й поїв тих двісті й п'ятдеся́т чоловіка, що прино́сили кадило!
And there came out a fire from the LORD, and consumed the two hundred and fifty men that offered incense.
36 І Господь промовляв до Мойсея, говорячи:
And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
37 „Скажи до Елеаза́ра, сина священика Ааро́на, і нехай він позбирає ті кадильниці з-посеред погорі́лища, а огонь повикидає геть, бо вони освятилися,
Speak unto Eleazar the son of Aaron the priest, that he take up the censers out of the burning, and scatter you the fire yonder; for they are hallowed.
38 кадильниці тих грішників, їхньою смертю. І нехай і вони зроблять із них биті бля́хи на покриття для жертівника, бо прино́сили їх перед Господнє лице, і вони освятилися. І будуть вони знаком для Ізраїлевих синів“.
The censers of these sinners against their own souls, let them make them broad plates for a covering of the altar: for they offered them before the LORD, therefore they are hallowed: and they shall be a sign unto the children of Israel.
39 І взяв священик Елеаза́р мідяні́ кадильниці, що прино́сили їх ті, що спалені, і перекува́ли їх на покриття для жертівника,
And Eleazar the priest took the brazen censers, wherewith they that were burnt had offered; and they were made broad plates for a covering of the altar:
40 пам'ятка для Ізраїлевих синів, щоб чужий чоловік, хто не з Ааронового насіння, не наближа́вся кадити кадило перед Господнім лицем, щоб не сталося з ними, як із Кореєм та з громадою його, як Господь говорив йому через Мойсея.
To be a memorial unto the children of Israel, that no stranger, which is not of the seed of Aaron, come near to offer incense before the LORD; that he be not as Korah, and as his company: as the LORD said to him by the hand of Moses.
41 А назавтра вся громада Ізраїлевих синів нарікали на Мойсея та на Аарона, говорячи: „Ви повбивали Господній наро́д!“
But on the next day all the congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and against Aaron, saying, All of you have killed the people of the LORD.
42 І сталося, коли громада збиралася на Мойсея та на Аарона, то обернулися вони до скинії заповіту, — аж ось покрила її хмара, і показа́лася слава Господня!
And it came to pass, when the congregation was gathered against Moses and against Aaron, that they looked toward the tabernacle of the congregation: and, behold, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the LORD appeared.
43 І ввійшли Мойсей та Аарон до пе́реду ски́нії запові́ту.
And Moses and Aaron came before the tabernacle of the congregation.
44 І Господь промовляв до Мойсея, говорячи:
And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying,
45 „Вийдіть з-посеред цієї громади, а я ви́нищу їх умить!“І вони попа́дали на обличчя свої.
Get you up from among this congregation, that I may consume them as in a moment. And they fell upon their faces.
46 І сказав Мойсей до Аарона: „Візьми кадильницю, і поклади на неї огню від же́ртівника, і поклади кадила, та й понеси швидко до громади, та й очисть її, бо вийшов гнів від Господнього лиця, і розпочалася пора́зка“.
And Moses said unto Aaron, Take a censer, and put fire therein from off the altar, and put on incense, and go quickly unto the congregation, and make an atonement for them: for there is wrath gone out from the LORD; the plague is begun.
47 І взяв Аарон, як говорив Мойсей, і побіг до сере́дини зборів, аж ось — розпочалася пора́зка наро́ду! І він поклав кадила, і очистив наро́д.
And Aaron took as Moses commanded, and ran into the midst of the congregation; and, behold, the plague was begun among the people: and he put on incense, and made an atonement for the people.
48 І став він поміж уме́рлими та поміж живими, — і затрималась та пора́зка.
And he stood between the dead and the living; and the plague was stayed.
49 І було́ померлих поразкою чотирна́дцять тисяч і сімсо́т, окрім померлих у справі Корея.
Now they that died in the plague were fourteen thousand and seven hundred, beside them that died about the matter of Korah.
50 І вернувся Аарон до Мойсея до входу скинії заповіту, а пора́зка припинилася.
And Aaron returned unto Moses unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the plague was stayed.
