Книга Суддів 2
1 І прийшов Ангол Господній з Ґілґалу до Бохіму, та й сказав: „Я вивів вас із Єгипту до того кра́ю, що присягнув був вашим батька́м. І сказав Я: не зламаю Свого заповіту з вами повіки!
And an Angel of the Lord came vp from Gilgal to Bochim, and sayd, I made you to go vp out of Egypt, and haue brought you vnto the land which I had sworne vnto your fathers, and sayd, I wil neuer breake my couenant with you.
2 А ви не складете заповіту з ме́шканцями цього краю, їхні же́ртівники порозбиваєте, — та не слухали ви Мого голосу. Що́ це ви зробили?
Ye also shall make no couenant with the inhabitants of this land, but shall breake downe their altars: but ye haue not obeyed my voyce. Why haue ye done this?
3 І Я теж сказав: Не прожену́ їх від вас, і вони стануть вам те́рням у боки, а їхні боги стануть вам па́сткою“.
Wherefore, I sayd also, I wil not cast them out before you, but they shalbe as thornes vnto your sides, and their gods shalbe your destruction.
4 І сталося, як Ангол Господній говорив ці слова́ до всіх Ізраїлевих синів, то народ підніс свій голос, та й заплакав.
And when the Angel of the Lord spake these wordes vnto all the children of Israel, the people lift vp their voyce, and wept.
5 І назвали ім'я́ того місця: Бохім, і прино́сили там жертви Господе́ві.
Therefore they called the name of that place, Bochim, and offered sacrifices there vnto the Lord.
6 А Ісус відпустив наро́д, і Ізраїлеві сини розійшлися кожен до свого спа́дку, щоб посісти той край.
Now when Ioshua had sent the people away, the children of Israel went euery man into his inheritance, to possesse the land.
7 І служив народ Господе́ві по всі дні Ісуса та по всі дні ста́рших, які продовжили дні свої по Ісусі, що бачили всякий великий чин Господа, якого зробив Він Ізра́їлеві.
And the people had serued the Lord al the dayes of Ioshua, and all the dayes of the Elders that outliued Ioshua, which had seene all the great works of the Lord that he did for Israel.
8 І вмер Ісус, син Навинів, раб Господній, віку ста й десяти літ.
But Ioshua the sonne of Nun the seruant of the Lord dyed, when he was an hundreth and ten yeeres olde:
9 І поховали його в ме́жах спа́дщини його, у Тімнат-Хересі, в Єфремових гора́х, на пі́вніч від гори Ґааш.
And they buryed him in the coastes of his inheritance, in Timnath-heres in mount Ephraim, on the Northside of mount Gaash.
10 І також усе це покоління було прилучене до батьків своїх, а по них настало інше покоління, що не знало Господа, а також тих діл, які чинив Він Ізраїлеві.
And so all that generation was gathered vnto their fathers, and another generation arose after them, which neither knewe the Lord, nor yet the works, which he had done for Israel.
11 І Ізраїлеві сини чинили зло в Господніх оча́х, і служили Ваалам.
Then the children of Israel did wickedly in the sight of the Lord, and serued Baalim,
12 І вони покинули Господа, Бога батьків своїх, що вивів їх із єгипетського кра́ю, та й пішли за іншими бога́ми, за бога́ми тих народів, що були в їхніх око́лицях, і вклонялися їм, і гніви́ли Господа.
And forsooke ye Lord God of their fathers, which brought them out of the lande of Egypt, and followed other gods, euen the gods of the people that were round about them, and bowed vnto them, and prouoked the Lord to anger.
13 І покинули вони Господа, та й служили Ваа́лові та Аста́ртам.
So they forsooke the Lord, and serued Baal, and Ashtaroth.
14 І запала́в Господній гнів на Ізраїля, і Він дав їх у руку грабіжників, — і вони їх грабува́ли. І Він передав їх у руку навко́лишніх їхніх ворогів, і вони не могли вже встояти перед своїми ворогами.
And the wrath of the Lord was hote against Israel, and he deliuered them into the hands of spoylers, that spoyled them, and he sold them into the handes of their enemies rounde about them, so that they could no longer stande before their enemies.
15 У всьому, де вони ходили, Господня рука була проти них на зло, як говорив був Господь, і як заприсягнув їм Господь. І Він дуже їх тиснув.
Whithersoeuer they went out, the hand of the Lord was sore against them, as ye Lord had sayd, and as the Lord had sworne vnto them: so he punished them sore.
16 І поставив Господь су́ддів, і вони рятували їх від руки їхніх грабіжників.
Notwithstanding, the Lord raysed vp Iudges, which deliuered them out of the hands of their oppressours.
17 Та вони не слухалися також своїх суддів, бо блудили за іншими богами, і вклонялися їм. Вони скоро відхиля́лися з тієї дороги, якою йшли їхні батьки, щоб слухатися Господніх нака́зів. Вони так не робили!
But yet they would not obey their Iudges: for they went a whoring after other gods, and worshipped them, and turned quickly out of the way, wherein their fathers walked, obeying the commandements of the Lord: they did not so.
18 А коли Господь ставив їм суддів, то Господь був із суддею, і рятував їх із руки їхніх ворогів по всі дні того судді́, бо Господь жалував їх через їхній сто́гін через тих, що їх переслідували та гноби́ли їх.
And when the Lord had raysed them vp Iudges, the Lord was with the Iudge, and deliuered them out of the hande of their enemies all the dayes of the Iudge (for the Lord had compassion on their gronings, because of them that oppressed them and tormented them)
19 І бувало, як умирав той суддя, вони зно́ву псувалися більше від своїх батьків, щоб іти за іншими богами, щоб їм служити та щоб їм вклонятися, і вони не кидали чи́нів своїх та своєї неслухня́ної дороги.
Yet when the Iudge was dead, they returned, and did worse then their fathers, in following other gods to serue them and worshippe them: they ceased not from their owne inuentions, nor from their rebellious way.
20 І запалився Господній гнів на Ізраїля, і Він сказав: „За те, що люд цей переступив Мого заповіта, що Я наказав був їхнім батькам, і не слухалися Мого голосу,
Wherfore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against Israel, and he sayd, Because this people hath transgressed my couenant, which I commaded their fathers, and hath not obeyed my voyce,
21 тож Я більше не виганятиму перед ними нікого з тих народів, що Ісус позоставив, умира́ючи,
Therefore will I no more cast out before them any of the nations, which Ioshua left when he dyed,
22 щоб ви́пробувати ними Ізраїля, — чи держатимуться вони Господньої дороги, щоб нею ходити, як держалися їхні батьки, чи ні.
That through them I may proue Israel, whether they wil keepe the way of the Lord, to walke therein, as their fathers kept it, or not.
23 І Господь позоставив тих людей, щоб їх скоро не виганяти, і не дав їх у руку Ісусову.
So the Lord left those nations, and droue them not out immediatly, neither deliuered them into the hand of Ioshua.
