Йона 2
1 І молився Йона до Господа, Бога свого, з утроби тієї риби,
Then Jonah prayed to Jehovah from the belly of the fish,
2 та й казав: „Я кли́кав з нещастя свого до Господа, — і відповідь дав Він мені, із ну́тра шеолу кричав я, — і почув Ти мій голос! (Sheol h7585)
and said: — I cried by reason of my distress to Jehovah, And he heard me: Out of the depth of the under-world I cried, And thou didst hear my voice. (Sheol h7585)
3 І Ти кинув мене в глибочі́нь, у серце моря, і поті́к оточив був мене. Усі хвилі Твої та буру́ни Твої надо мною пройшли́.
Thou didst cast me into the deep, into the heart of the sea, And the flood compassed me about; All thy billows and thy waves passed over me.
4 І сказав я: Я ви́гнаний з-перед очей Твоїх, проте́ ще побачу я храм Твій святий.
And I said, “I am cast out from before thine eyes; Yet I will look again to thy holy temple!”
5 Вода аж по душу мене обгорну́ла, безо́дня мене оточи́ла, очере́т обвива́є круго́м мою го́лову!
The waters compassed me about, even to the life, The deep enclosed me round about; Sea-weeds were bound around my head;
6 Я зійшов аж до спо́ду гори, а земля — її за́суви стали за мною навіки! Та піді́ймеш із ями життя моє, Господи, Боже Ти мій!
I sank down to the foundations of the mountains; The bars of the earth were about me forever; Yet hast thou brought up my life from the pit, O Jehovah, my God!
7 Як у мені омлівала душа моя, Господа я спогада́в, — і молитва моя ця до Тебе доли́нула, до храму святого Твого!
When my soul fainted within me, I remembered Jehovah, And my prayer came to thee, To thy holy temple.
8 Ті, що трима́ються ма́рних божкі́в, — свого Милосердного кидають.
They that honor lying vanities forsake their mercy;
9 А я голосно́ю подякою принесу́ Тобі жертву, про що присягав я, те ви́конаю. Спасі́ння — у Господа!“
But I will sacrifice to thee with the voice of thanksgiving; I will pay that which I have vowed; Salvation is from Jehovah.
10 І Господь звелів рибі, — і вона ви́кинула Йону на суході́л.
And Jehovah commanded the fish, and it cast out Jonah upon the dry land.
