Йов 32
1 І переста́ли ті троє мужів відповідати Йову, бо він був справедливий в оча́х своїх.
So these three men ceased to answer Job, because he was righteous in his own eyes.
2 І запалився гнів Елігу, сина Барах'їлового, бузянина, з роду Рамового, — на Йова запали́вся гнів його за те, що той уважав душу свою справедливішою за Бога.
Then was kindled the wrath of Elihu, the son of Barachel, the Buzite, of the family of Ram; against Job was his wrath kindled, because he accounted himself righteous rather than God.
3 Також на трьох при́ятелів його запалився його гнів за те, що не знайшли вони відповіді, а зробили тільки Йова винним.
Against his three friends also was his wrath kindled, because they had not found an answer, and yet had condemned Job.
4 А Елігу вичікував Йова та їх із словами, бо вони були ста́рші віком за нього.
Now Elihu had delayed to reply to Job, because they were older than himself.
5 І побачив Елігу, що нема належної відповіді в устах тих трьох людей, — і запалився його гнів!
But when Elihu saw that there was no answer in the mouth of these three men, his wrath was kindled.
6 І відповів бузянин Елі́гу, син Барах'їлів, та й сказав: „Молодий я літа́ми, ви ж ста́рші, тому́ то я стри́мувався та боявся знання́ своє ви́словити вам
Then spake Elihu, the son of Barachel, the Buzite, and said: I am young, and ye are very old; Therefore I was afraid, And durst not make known to you my opinion.
7 Я поду́мав: Хай вік промовля́є, і хай розуму вчить многолі́ття!
I said, “Days should speak, And the multitude of years should teach wisdom.”
8 Справді, дух — він у люди́ні, та Всемогутнього по́дих їх мудрими чинить.
But it is the spirit in man, Even the inspiration of the Almighty, that giveth him understanding.
9 Многолі́тні не за́вжди розумні, і не все розуміються в праві старі́.
Great men are not always wise, Nor do the aged always understand what is right.
10 Тому́ я кажу: Послухай мене, — хай знання́ своє ви́словлю й я!
Therefore, I pray, listen to me: I also will declare my opinion.
11 Тож слів ваших вичі́кував я, наставляв свої уші до вашої мудрости, поки справу ви дослідите́.
Behold, I have waited for your words, I have listened to your arguments, Whilst ye searched out what to say;
12 І я приглядався до вас, й ось немає між вами, хто б Йо́ву довів, хто б відповідь дав на слова́ його!
Yea, I have attended to you; And behold, none of you hath refuted Job, Nor answered his words.
13 Щоб ви не сказали: „Ми мудрість знайшли: не люди́на, а Бог перемо́же його́!“
Say not, then, “We have found out wisdom; God must conquer him, not man.”
14 Не на мене слова́ він скеро́вував, і я не відповім йому мовою вашою.
He hath not directed his discourse against me, And with speeches like yours will I not answer him.
15 Полякались вони, вже не відповіда́ють, не мають вже слів,
They were confounded! they answered no more! They could say nothing!
16 Я чекав, що не бу́дуть вони говорити, що спини́лись, не відповідають уже.
I waited, but they spake not; They stood still; they answered no more!
17 Відповім також я свою ча́стку, і ви́словлю й я свою ду́мку.
Therefore will I answer, on my part; I also will show my opinion.
18 Бо я повний слова́ми, — дух мойо́го нутра́ докуча́є мені.
For I am full of matter; The spirit within me constraineth me.
19 Ось утро́ба моя, мов вино невідкри́те, — вона трі́скається, як нові бурдюки́!
Behold, my bosom is as wine that hath no vent; Like bottles of new wine, which are bursting.
20 Нехай я скажу́ — й буде легше мені, нехай у́ста відкрию свої — й відповім!
I will speak, that I may be relieved; I will open my lips and answer.
21 На осо́бу не бу́ду уваги звертати, не буду підле́щуватись до люди́ни,
I will not be partial to any man's person, Nor will I flatter any man.
22 бо не вмію підле́щуватись! Коли ж ні, — нехай зараз ві́зьме мене мій Творе́ць!
For I know not how to flatter; Soon would my Maker take me away.
