Йов 18
1 І заговорив шух'янин Білда́д та й сказав:
Then answered Bildad the Shuhite, and said:
2 „Як довго ви бу́дете па́стками класти слова́? Розміркуйте, а по́тім собі погово́римо!
How long will ye lay snares for words? Consider, and afterwards we will speak.
3 Чому́ порахо́вані ми, як худоба? Чому в ваших оча́х ми безумні?
Wherefore are we counted as beasts, and reputed dull in your sight?
4 О ти, що розша́рпуєш душу свою в своїм гніві, — чи для те́бе земля опусті́є, а скеля осу́неться з місця свого́?
Thou that tearest thyself in thine anger, shall the earth be forsaken for thee? Or shall the rock be removed out of its place?
5 Таж світи́льник безбожних пога́сне, і не буде світи́тися і́скра огню́ його:
Yea, the light of the wicked shall be put out, and the spark of his fire shall not shine.
6 його світло стемні́є в наме́ті, і згасне на ньому світильник його,
The light shall be dark in his tent, and his lamp over him shall be put out.
7 стануть тісні́ кроки сили його́, і вдарить його власна рада!
The steps of his strength shall be straitened, and his own counsel shall cast him down.
8 Бо він ки́нений в па́стку ногами своїми, і на ґраті він буде ходити:
For he is cast into a net by his own feet, and he walketh upon the toils.
9 пастка схо́пить за сто́пу його́, змі́цниться сітка на ньому, —
A gin shall take him by the heel, and a snare shall lay hold on him.
10 на нього захо́ваний шнур на землі, а па́стка на нього — на сте́жці.
A noose is hid for him in the ground, and a trap for him in the way.
11 Страхіття жаха́ють його звідусі́ль, і женуться за ним по сліда́х.
Terrors shall overwhelm him on every side, and shall entrap him at his feet.
12 Його сила голодною буде, а нещастя при боці його пригото́влене.
His trouble shall be ravenous, and calamity shall be ready for his fall.
13 Його шкіра пої́джена буде хворобою, поїсть члени його перворо́джений смерти.
It shall devour the members of his body, yea, the first-born of death shall devour his members.
14 Віді́рвана буде безпе́ка його від наме́ту його, а Ти до царя жахів його приведе́ш...
That wherein he trusteth shall be plucked out of his tent; and he shall be brought to the king of terrors.
15 Він перебуває в наметі своє́му, який не його, на мешка́ння його буде ки́нена сірка.
There shall dwell in his tent that which is none of his; brimstone shall be scattered upon his habitation.
16 Здо́лу посо́хнуть коріння його, а згори́ — його ві́ття зів'я́не.
His roots shall dry up beneath, and above shall his branch wither.
17 Його пам'ять загине з землі, а на вулиці йме́ння не буде йому.
His remembrance shall perish from the earth, and he shall have no name abroad.
18 Зажену́ть його з світла до те́мряви, і ввесь світ проганяє його.
He shall be driven from light into darkness, and chased out of the world.
19 У нього немає в наро́ді наща́дка, ні внука, і немає оста́нку в місцях його ме́шкання.
He shall have neither son nor son's son among his people, nor any remaining in his dwellings.
20 На згадку про день його остовпіва́ли останні, за воло́сся ж хапа́лись давні́ші...
They that come after shall be astonished at his day, as they that went before are affrighted.
21 Ось такі то мешка́ння неправедного, і це місце того, хто Бога не знає!“
Surely such are the dwellings of the wicked, and this is the place of him that knoweth not God.
