Буття 46
1 І вирушив Ізраїль, і все, що його, і прибув до Веер-Шеви, і приніс жертви Богові батька свого Ісака.
So Israel left for Egypt with everything he had. When he arrived at Beersheba he offered sacrifices to the God of his father Isaac.
2 І промовив Бог до Ізраїля в нічному видінні, і сказав: „Якове, Якове!“А той відказав: „Ось я!“
During the night God spoke to Israel in a vision. “Jacob! Jacob!” he called. “I'm here,” he replied.
3 І сказав Він: „Я Той Бог, — Бог батька твого. Не бійся зійти до Єгипту, бо Я вчиню тебе там великим народом.
“I am God, the God of your father! Don't be afraid to go to Egypt, because I will turn you and your descendants into a great nation.
4 Я зійду́ з тобою до Єгипту, і Я також, виводячи, виведу тебе, а Йосип закри́є рукою своє́ю очі твої“.
I will go to Egypt with you, and I promise to bring you back again. And Joseph will personally close your eyes when you die.”
5 І встав Яків з Беер-Шеви. І пове́зли Ізраїлеві сини свого батька Якова, і дітей своїх, і жінок своїх возами, що послав фараон, щоб привезти його.
Then Jacob left Beersheba. His sons took him, their children, and their wives to Egypt using the wagons Pharaoh had sent.
6 І взяли́ вони стада́ свої, і маєток свій, що набули́ в землі ханаанській, і прибули́ до Єгипту Яків та ввесь рід його з ним.
They also took with them all their livestock and all the personal belongings they had accumulated in the country of Canaan. So Jacob and everyone in his extended family went to Egypt,
7 Він привів із собою до Єгипту синів своїх, і синів своїх синів з собою, дочок своїх, і дочок синів своїх, і ввесь рід свій.
including all his sons and grandsons, daughters and granddaughters.
8 А оце ймення синів Ізраїлевих, що прибули до Єгипту: Яків та сини його: перворідний Яковів Руви́м.
The following is the genealogy of Israel and his sons who went to Egypt: Reuben, Jacob's firstborn.
9 І сини Рувимові: Ханох, і Паллу, і Хецрон, і Кармі.
The sons of Reuben: Hanoch, Pallu, Hezron, and Carmi.
10 І сини Симеонові: Ємуїл, і Ямін, і Огад, і Яхін, і Цохар, і Саул, син ханаанеянки.
The sons of Simeon: Jemuel, Jamin, Ohad, Jachin, Zohar, and Shaul the son of a woman from Canaan.
11 І сини Левієві: Ґершон, Кегат і Мерарі.
The sons of Levi: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.
12 І сини Юдині: Ер, і Онан, і Шела, і Перец, і Зерах. І вмер Ер і Онан у ханаанській землі. А сини Перецеві були: Хецрон і Хамул.
The sons of Judah: Er, Onan, Shelah, Perez, and Zerah. However, Er and Onan died in Canaan. The sons of Perez: Hezron and Hamul.
13 І сини Іссаха́рові: Тола, і Цувва, і Йов, і Шимрон.
The sons of Issachar: Tola, Puvah, Job, and Shimron.
14 І сини Завуло́нові: Серед, і Елон, і Яхлеїл.
The sons of Zebulun: Sered, Elon, and Jahleel.
15 Оце сини Ліїні, що вродила вона Якову в Падані арамейськім, та дочку його Діну. Усіх душ синів його й дочок його тридцять три.
These are the sons Leah had for Jacob in Paddan-aram, as well as his daughter Dinah. The total number of sons and daughters and grandchildren was thirty-three.
16 І сини Ґадові: Ціфйон, і Хаґґі, Шуні, і Ецбон, Ері, і Ароді, і Ар'їлі.
The sons of Gad: Ziphion, Haggi, Shuni, Ezbon, Eri, Arodi, and Areli.
17 І сини Аси́рові: Їмна, і Їшва, і Їшві, і Верія, і Сірах, сестра їх. І сини Верії: Хевер і Малкіїл.
The sons of Asher: Imnah, Ishvah, Ishvi, Beriah, and their sister Serah. The sons of Beriah: Heber and Malchiel.
18 Оце сини Зілпи, що Лаван був дав її своїй дочці Лії, а вона вродила їх Якову, шіснадцять душ.
These are the sons of Jacob Zilpah had, the servant given by Laban to his daughter Leah, a total of sixteen children and grandchildren.
19 Сини Рахілі, жінки Якова: Йо́сип і Веніями́н.
The sons of Jacob's wife Rachel: Joseph and Benjamin.
20 І вродилися Йосипові в єгипетськім краї Манасі́я та Єфре́м, що їх уродила йому Оснат, дочка Поті-Фера, жерця Ону.
The sons Joseph had in the land of Egypt by Asenath, daughter of Potiphera, priest of On: Manasseh and Ephraim.
21 І сини Веніяминові: Бела, і Бехер, і Ашбел, Ґера, і Нааман, Ехі, і Рош, Муппім, і Хуппім, і Ард.
The sons of Benjamin: Bela, Becher, Ashbel, Gera, Naaman, Ehi, Rosh, Muppim, Huppim, and Ard.
22 Оце сини Рахілині, що вродилися Якову, усіх душ чотирнадцять.
These are the sons that Rachel had for Jacob, a total of fourteen children and grandchildren.
23 І сини Данові: Хушім.
The son of Dan: Hushim.
24 І сини Нефтали́мові: Яхсеїл, і Ґуні, і Єцер, і Шіллем.
The sons of Naphtali: Jahzeel, Guni, Jezer, and Shillem.
25 Оце сини Білги, що її Лаван дав був своїй дочці Рахілі. І вона породила їх Якову, усіх душ сім.
These are the sons of Jacob that Bilhah had, the servant given by Laban to his daughter Rachel, a total of seven children and grandchildren.
26 Усіх душ, що прийшли з Яковом в Єгипет, що походять із сте́гон його, окрім жінок синів Якова, усіх душ шістдесят і шість.
All those who were part of Jacob's family who came to Egypt (his blood relatives, apart from wives of Jacob's sons) totaled sixty-six.
27 А сини Йосипа, що народилися йому в Єгипті, дві душі. Усіх душ дому Якова, що прийшли були до Єгипту, сімдесят.
Including the two sons Joseph had in Egypt, the total number of Jacob's family who were in Egypt was seventy.
28 І послав він перед собою Юду до Йосипа, щоб показував перед ним доро́гу до Ґошену. І прибули́ вони до краю Ґошен.
Jacob sent Judah on ahead to meet Joseph and find out the way to Goshen. When they arrived in Goshen,
29 І запріг Йосип свою колесницю, і вирушив назустріч батькові своє́му Ізраїлеві до Ґошену. І він показався йому, і впав йому на шию, та й плакав довго на шиї його.
Joseph ordered his chariot made ready and went to meet his father Israel there. As soon as he arrived, he hugged his father and wept for a long time.
30 І промовив Ізраїль до Йосипа: „Нехай тепер помру я, побачивши обли́ччя твоє, що ти ще живий!“
“Now I can die in peace because I have seen your face again and know you're still alive,” Israel told Joseph.
31 А Йосип промовив до своїх братів і до дому батька свого: „Піду́ й розкажу́ фараонові, та й повім йому: Брати мої й дім батька мого, що були в Кра́ї ханаанськім, прибули до мене.
Joseph told his brothers and his father's household, “I'm going to go and report to Pharaoh and tell him, ‘My brothers and my father's household have arrived from the country of Canaan to join me.
32 А люди ці — пастухи отари, бо були скотарі. І вони припровадили дрібну та велику худобу свою, і все, що їхнє було́.
They are shepherds and keep livestock. They have brought with them their flocks and herds and all their possessions.’
33 І станеться, коли покличе вас фараон і скаже: Яке ваше зайняття?
When Pharaoh calls for you and asks you, ‘What work do you do?’
34 то ви відкажете: „Скотарями були твої раби від молодости своєї аж дотепе́р, і ми, і батьки наші“, щоб ви осіли в країні Ґошен, бо для Єгипту кожен пастух отари — огида“.
tell him, ‘Your servants have looked after livestock since we were children, both us and our fathers before us.’ That way you'll be able to live here in Goshen, because Egyptians look down on shepherds.”
