Буття 33
1 І звів Яків очі свої, та й побачив, аж ось іде Ісав, а з ним чотири сотні людей. І він поділив своїх дітей на Лію, і на Рахіль, і на обо́х невільниць своїх.
And as Iaakob lift vp his eyes, and looked, behold, Esau came, and with him foure hundreth men: and he deuided the children to Leah, and to Rahel, and to the two maides.
2 І поставив він тих невільниць і дітей їх напереді, а Лію й дітей її перед останніми, а Рахіль та Йо́сипа останніми.
And he put the maides, and their children formost, and Leah, and her children after, and Rahel, and Ioseph hindermost.
3 А сам пішов перед ними, і вклонився до землі сім раз, аж поки підійшов до брата свого.
So he went before them and bowed him selfe to the ground seuen times, vntill he came neere to his brother.
4 І побіг Ісав назустріч йому, і обняв його, і впав на шию йому, і цілував його. І вони заплакали.
Then Esau ranne to meete him, and embraced him, and fell on his necke, and kissed him, and they wept.
5 І звів свої очі Ісав, і побачив жінок та дітей. І сказав: „Хто то такі?“А той відказав: „Діти, якими обдарував Бог твого раба“.
And he lift vp his eyes, and sawe the women, and the children, and saide, Who are these with thee? And he answered, They are ye childre whome God of his grace hath giuen thy seruant.
6 І підійшли сюди невільниці, і їхні діти, та й вклонилися.
Then came the maides neere, they, and their children, and bowed themselues.
7 І підійшла також Лія та діти її, і вклонилися, а потім підійшов Йо́сип і Рахі́ль, та й вклонилися.
Leah also with her children came neere and made obeysance: and after Ioseph and Rahel drew neere, and did reuerence.
8 І сказав Ісав: „А що це за ці́лий табір той, що я спіткав?“А той відказав: „Щоб знайти милість в очах мого пана“.
Then he said, What meanest thou by all this droue, which I met? Who answered, I haue sent it, that I may finde fauour in the sight of my lorde:
9 А Ісав сказав: „Я маю багато, мій брате, — твоє нехай бу́де тобі“.
And Esau said, I haue ynough, my brother: keepe that thou hast to thy selfe.
10 А Яків сказав: „Ні ж бо! Коли я знайшов милість в очах твоїх, то візьми дарунка мого з моєї руки. Бож я побачив обличчя твоє, ніби побачив Боже лице, і ти собі уподобав мене.
But Iaakob answered, Nay, I pray thee: if I haue found grace nowe in thy sight, then receiue my present at mine hande: for I haue seene thy face, as though I had seene the face of God, because thou hast accepted me.
11 Візьми ж благослове́ння моє, що припроваджене тобі, бо Бог був милостивий до мене, та й маю я все“. І благав він його, — і той узяв.
I pray thee take my blessing, that is brought thee: for God hath had mercie on me, and therefore I haue all things: so he compelled him, and he tooke it.
12 І промовив Ісав: „Рушаймо й ходім, а я піду́ обік те́бе“.
And he saide, Let vs take our iourney and go, and I will goe before thee.
13 А той відказав: „Пан мій знає, що діти молоді, а дрібна та велика худоба в мене дійні. Коли погнати їх один день, то вигине вся отара.
Then he answered him, My lord knoweth, that the children are tender, and the ewes and kine with yong vnder mine hande: and if they should ouerdriue them one day, all the flocke would die.
14 Нехай же піде пан мій перед очима свого раба, а я піду́ поволі за ногою скотини, що передо мною, і за ногою дітей, аж поки не прийду́ до пана свого до Сеїру“.
Let now my lord go before his seruant, and I will driue softly, according to ye pase of ye cattel, which is before me, and as the children be able to endure, vntill I come to my lord vnto Seir.
15 І промовив Ісав: „Позоставлю ж з тобою трохи з людей, що зо мною“. А той відказав: „Пощо знаходжу я таку милість в очах свого пана?“
Then Esau said, I will leaue then some of my folke with thee. And he answered, what needeth this? let me finde grace in the sight of my lorde.
16 І вернувся того дня Ісав на дорогу свою до Сеїру.
So Esau returned, and went his way that same day vnto Seir.
17 А Яків подався до Суккоту, і збудував собі хату, а для худоби своєї поробив курені́, тому назвав ім'я́ тому місцю: Сукко́т.
And Iaakob went forwarde towarde Succoth, and built him an house, and made boothes for his cattell: therefore he called the name of the place Succoth.
18 І Яків, коли він прийшов із Падану арамейського, прибув спокійно до міста Сихем у Кра́ї ханаанському, і розта́борився перед містом.
Afterward, Iaakob came safe to Sheche a citie, which is in the lande of Canaan, when he came from Padan Aram, and pitched before the citie.
19 І купив він кусок поля, де розклав намета свого, з руки синів Гамора, батька Сихема, за сто срібнякі́в.
And there he bought a parcell of ground, where hee pitched his tent, at the hande of the sonnes of Hamor Shechems father, for an hundreth pieces of money.
20 І поставив там жертівника, і назвав його: Ел-Елогей-Ізраїль.
And he set vp there an altar, and called it, The mightie God of Israel.
