Буття 29
1 І зібрався Яків, і пішов до кра́ю синів Кедему.
Then Iacob lyfte vp his fete and wet toward the east countre.
2 І побачив, — аж ось криниця в полі, і ото там три отарі лежали біля неї, бо з тієї криниці напувають стада́. А на отворі криниці лежав великий камінь.
And as he loked aboute behold there was a well in the feld and. iij. flockes of shepe laye therby (for at that well were the flockes watered) and there laye a great stone at the well mouth
3 І збирались туди всі стада, і скочували каменя з отвору криниці, і напоювали отару, і привалювали каменя на отвір криниці знов на його місце.
And the maner was to brynge the flockes thyther and to roull the stone fro the welles mouth and to water the shepe and to put the stone agayne vppon the wells mouth vnto his place.
4 І сказав до пастухів Яків: „Браття мої, звідкіля ви?“А ті відказали: „Ми з Харану“.
And Iacob sayde vnto the: brethern whece be ye? and they sayde: of Haran ar we.
5 І сказав їм: „Чи ви знаєте Лавана, сина Нахорового?“І відказали: „Знаємо“.
And he sayde vnto the: knowe ye Laban the sonne of Nahor. And they sayde: we knowe him.
6 І сказав їм: „Чи гаразд із ним?“І відказали: „Гаразд. А ось Рахі́ль, дочка його, приходить з отарою“.
And he sayde vnto the: is he in good health? And they sayde: he is in good health: and boholde his doughter Rahel cometh with ye shepe.
7 І сказав: „Тож іще багато дня, не час зганяти худобу. Напійте отару, та йдіть пасіть“.
And he sayde: lo it is yet a great whyle to nyghte nether is it tyme yt the catell shulde be gathered together: water the shepe and goo and fede the.
8 А вони відказали: „Не можемо, аж поки не будуть зігнані всі стада, і не відкотять каменя з отвору криниці, — тоді понапуваємо отару“.
And they sayde: we maye not vntill all ye flockes be brought together and the stone be roulled fro the wells mouth and so we water oure shepe.
9 Іще він говорив із ними, аж ось приходить Рахі́ль з отарою батька свого, бо була вона пастушка.
Whyle he yet talked with the Rahel came with hir fathers shepe for she kepte them.
10 І сталося, коли Яків побачив Рахіль, дочку Лавана, брата матері своєї, та отару Лавана, брата своєї матері, то підійшов Яків і відкотив каменя з отво́ру криниці, і напоїв отару Лавана, брата матері своєї.
As soone As Iacob sawe Rahel the doughter of Laban his mothers brother and the shepe of Laban his mothers brother he went and rowled the stone fro the wells mouth and watered the shepe of Laba his mothers brother
11 І поцілував Яків Рахіль, і підніс свій голос, і заплакав...
And Iacob kyssed Rahel and lyfte vp his voyce and wepte:
12 І Яків оповів Рахілі, що він брат батька її, і що він син Ревеки. А та побігла, і розповіла батькові своєму...
and tolde her also yt he was hir fathers brother and Rebeccas sonne. The Rahel ranne and tolde hir father.
13 І сталося, коли Лаван почув вістку про Якова, сина сестри своєї, то побіг йому назустріч, і обняв його, і поцілував його, і привів його до свого дому. А він розповів Лаванові про всі ті пригоди.
When Laban herd tell of Iacob his sisters sonne he ranne agaynst him and embraced hi and kyssed him ad broughte him in to his house. And the Iacob told Laba all ye matter
14 І промовив до нього Лаван: „Поправді, ти кість моя й тіло моє́!“І сидів він із ним місяць ча́су.
And the Laba sayde: well thou art my bone and my flesh. Abyde with me the space of a moneth.
15 І сказав Лаван до Якова: „Чи тому, що ти брат мій, то ти будеш служити мені даре́мно? Скажи ж мені, яка плата тобі?“
And afterward Laban sayd vnto Iacob: though thou be my brother shuldest thou therfore serue me for nought? tell me what shall thi wages be?
16 А в Лавана було дві дочки́: ім'я́ старшій Лія, а ім'я́ молодшій Рахіль.
And Laban had. ij. doughters the eldest called Lea and the yongest Rahel.
17 Очі ж Ліїні були хворі, а Рахіль була гарного стану та вродливого вигляду.
Lea was tender eyed: But Rahel was bewtifull ad well fauored.
18 І покохав Яків Рахіль, та й сказав: „Я буду сім літ служити тобі за Рахіль, молодшу дочку́ твою“.
And Iacob loued her well and sayde: I will serue the. vij. yere for Rahel thy yongest doughter.
19 І промовив Лаван: „Краще мені віддати її тобі, аніж віддати мені її іншому чоловікові. Сиди ж зо мною!“
And Laban answered: it is better yt I geue her the than to another man? byde therfore with me.
20 І служив Яків за Рахіль сім літ, а вони через любов його до неї були в його очах, як кілька днів.
And Iacob serued. vij. yeres for Rahel and they semed vnto him but a fewe dayes for the loue he had to her.
21 І сказав Яків Лаванові: „Дай мені жінку мою, бо виповнилися мої дні, і нехай я до неї ввійду́!“
And Iacob sayde vnto Laban geue me my wife that I maye lye with hir for the tyme appoynted me is come.
22 І зібрав Лаван усіх людей тієї місцевости, і справив гостину.
Than Laban bade all the men of that place and made a feast.
23 І сталося ввечері, — і взяв він дочку свою Лію, і до нього впровадив її. І Яків із нею зійшовся.
And when eue was come he toke Lea his doughter and broughte her to him and he went in vnto her.
24 А Лаван дав їй Зілпу, невільницю свою, дав Лії, дочці своїй, за невільницю.
And Laban gaue vnto his doughter Lea Zilpha his mayde to be hir seruaunte.
25 А вранці виявилося, що то була Лія! І промовив Яків до Лавана: „Що́ це ти вчинив мені? Хіба не за Рахіль працював я в тебе? На́що ж обманив ти мене?
And when the mornynge was come beholde it was Lea. Than sayde he to Laban: wherfore hast thou played thus with me? dyd not I serue the for Rahel wherfore than hast thou begyled me?
26 А Лаван відказав: „У нашій місцевості не робиться так, щоб віддавати молодшу перед старшою.
Laban answered: it is not the maner of this place to marke the yongest before the eldest.
27 Виповни тиждень для цієї, і буде да́на тобі також та́, за працю, що бу́деш працювати в мене ще сім літ других“.
Passe out this weke and tha shall this also be geuen the for ye seruyce which thou shalt serue me yet. vij. yeres more.
28 І зробив Яків так, і виповнив тиждень для цієї. І він дав йому Рахіль, дочку свою, дав йому за жінку.
And Iacob dyd eue so and passed out that weke and than he gaue hi Rahel his doughter to wyfe also.
29 І дав Лаван Рахілі, дочці своїй, Білгу, невільницю свою, дав їй за невільницю.
And Laban gaue to Rahel his doughter Bilha his handmayde to be hir servaute.
30 І прийшов він також до Рахілі, і покохав також Рахіль, більше, як Лію. І працював у нього ще сім літ других.
So laye he by Rahel also and loued Rahel more than Lea and serued him yet. vij. yeres more.
31 І побачив Господь, що знена́виджена Лія, і відкрив її утро́бу, а Рахіль була неплідна.
When the LORde sawe that Lea was despised he made her frutefull: but Rahel was baren.
32 І завагітніла Лія, і сина породила, і назвала ім'я́ йому: Руви́м, бо сказала була: „Господь споглянув на недолю мою, бо тепер покохає мене чоловік мій!“
And Lea conceaued and bare a sonne ad called his name Rube for she sayde: the LORde hath loked apon my tribulation. And now my husbonde will loue me.
33 І завагітніла вона ще, і сина породила, і сказала: „Господь почув, що я знена́виджена, і дав мені також цього. І назвала ймення йому: Симеон.
And she conceaued agayne and bare a sonne and sayde: the LORde hath herde that I am despised ad hath therfore geuen me this sonne also and she called him Simeon.
34 І завагітніла вона ще, і сина породила, і сказала: „Тепер оцим разом буде до мене прилучений мій чоловік, бо я трьох синів породила йому“. Тому й назвала ім'я йому: Леві́й.
And she conceaued yet and bare a sonne ad sayde: now this once will my husbonde kepe me company because I haue borne him. iij. sonnes: and therfore she called his name Levi.
35 І завагітніла вона ще, і сина породила, і сказала: „Тим разом я буду хвалити Господа!“Тому назвала ім'я йому: Юда. Та й перестала роджати.
And she conceaued yet agayne and bare a sonne saynge? Now will I prayse the LORde: therfore she called his name Iuda and left bearynge.
