Екклезіяст 12
1 І пам'ята́й в днях юна́цтва свого́ про свого Творця́, аж поки не при́йдуть злі дні, й не наступлять літа́, про які говорити ти бу́деш: „Для мене вони неприємні!“
And remember creator your in [the] days of youth your until that not they will come [the] days of evil and they will arrive years which you will say not [belongs] to me in them pleasure.
2 аж поки не сте́мніє сонце, і світло, і місяць, і зо́рі, і не ве́рнуться хмари густі́ за доще́м,
Until that not it will become dark the sun and the light and the moon and the stars and they will return the clouds after the rain.
3 у день, коли затремтя́ть ті, хто дім стереже, і зі́гнуться мужні, і спи́нять роботу свою млинарі́, бо їх стане мало, і поте́мніють ті, хто в вікно визирає,
In the day when they will tremble [the] keepers of the house and they will bend themselves [the] people of strength and they will cease the [female] grinders for they have become few and they will grow dim the [women who] look in the windows.
4 і двері подвійні на вулицю за́мкнені бу́дуть, як зме́ншиться гу́ркіт млина́, і голос пташи́ни замовкне, і затихнуть всі до́чки співучі,
And they will be shut up [the] doors on the street when becomes low [the] sound of the grinding mill for someone may arise to [the] sound of bird and they may be reduced all [the] daughters of song.
5 і будуть боятись високого місця, і жа́хи в дорозі їм бу́дуть, і мигда́ль зацвіте, й обтяжі́є коби́лка, і загине бажа́ння, бо люди́на відхо́дить до вічного дому свого́, а по вулиці будуть ходити довко́ла голосі́льники,
Also from a high [place] people will be afraid and terrors [are] in the way and it may blossom the almond tree so it may drag itself along the grasshopper and it may fail the caper-berry for [is] going humankind to [the] house of perpetuity its and they will go about (in the street *L(abh)*) the mourners.
6 аж поки не пі́рветься срібний шнуро́к, і не зло́миться кругла посу́дина з золота, і при джерелі́ не розі́б'ється глек, і не зламається ко́ло, й не ру́не в крини́цю...
Until that not (it will be snapped *Q(K)*) [the] cord of silver so it may be crushed [the] bowl of gold so it may be broken [the] jar at the water spring and it will be crushed the [water] wheel to the well.
7 І ве́рнеться порох у землю, як був, а дух ве́рнеться зно́ву до Бога, що дав був його!
And it will return the dust to the earth like which it was and the spirit it will return to God who he gave it.
8 Наймарні́ша марно́та, — сказав Пропові́дник, — марно́та — усе!
Futility of futilities he said the Teacher everything [is] futility.
9 Крім того, що Пропові́дник був мудрий, він навчав ще наро́д знання́. Він важив та досліджував, склав багато при́повістей.
And besides that he was Teacher wise again he taught knowledge the people and he weighed and he searched out he arranged in order proverbs [surely] a multitude.
10 Проповідник пильнував знахо́дити потрібні слова, і вірно писав правдиві слова.
sought Teacher to find words of delight and [what] was written uprightness [was] words of truth.
11 Слова мудрих — немов оті ле́за в ґірли́зі, і мов позаби́вані цвя́хи, складачі́ ж таких слів, — вони да́ні від одного Па́стиря.
[the] words of Wise [people] [are] like goads and [are] like nails firmly fixed masters of collections they are given from a shepherd one.
12 А понад те, сину мій, будь обере́жний: складати багато книжо́к — не буде кінця́, а багато навчатися — мука для тіла!
And excess more than them O child my be warned to make books many there not [is] an end and study much [is] weariness of flesh.
13 Підсумок усьо́го почутого: Бога бійся, й чини́ Його за́повіді, бо належить це кожній люди́ні!
[the] end of [the] matter Everything it has been heard God fear and commandments his keep for this [is] all humankind.
14 Бо Бог приведе́ кожну справу на суд, і все потаємне, — чи добре воно, чи лихе!
For every deed God he will bring in judgment with every hidden thing whether good and or evil.
