Дії 24
1 А по п'яти днях прибув первосвященик Ана́ній з якимись старши́ми, та з промовцем якимсь Терти́лом, що перед намісником ска́ржилися на Павла.
And after five days the chief priest Ananias came down, with the elders, and a certain orator—Tertullus, and they disclosed to the governor [the things] against Paul;
2 Коли ж він був покликаний, то Тертил оскаржати зачав, промовляючи: „Через тебе великий мир маємо ми, і для наро́ду цього добрі речі впроваджено через дбайливість твою, —
and he having been called, Tertullus began to accuse [him], saying, “Enjoying much peace through you, and worthy deeds being done to this nation through your forethought,
3 це ми за́вжди і скрізь визнаємо з подякою щирою, вседостойний наш Фе́ліксе!
always, also, and everywhere we receive it, most noble Felix, with all thankfulness;
4 Та щоб довго тебе не турбува́ти, то благаю тебе, щоб ти коротко вислухав нас зо своєї ласка́вости.
and that I may not be further tedious to you, I exhort you to hear us concisely in your gentleness;
5 Ми переконались, що цей чоловік — то зара́за, і що він колотнечу викли́кує між усіма юдеями в ці́лому світі, і що він провідни́к Назорейської єресі.
for having found this man a pestilence, and moving a dissension to all the Jews through the world—also a ringleader of the sect of the Nazarenes—
6 Він відважився навіть збезчестити храм, і його ми схопи́ли були, і судити хотіли за нашим Зако́ном.
who also tried to profane the temple, whom we also took, [[and wished to judge according to our law,
7 Але тисяцький Лі́сій прибув, і з великим наси́льством видер його з наших рук,
and Lysias the chief captain having come near, took away out of our hands with much violence,
8 а його винува́льникам звелів йти до тебе. Ти сам зможеш від нього, розпитавши, дізнатись про все, у чо́му його ми вину́ємо“.
having commanded his accusers to come to you, ]] from whom you may be able, yourself having examined, to know concerning all these things of which we accuse him”;
9 Юдеї також прилучились до того, говорячи, що то так.
and the Jews also agreed, professing these things to be so.
10 І як намісник дав знака йому говорити, то Павло відповів: „Я знаю, що від літ багатьох ти суддя для наро́ду цього, — тому буду сміліш боронитись.
And Paul—the governor having beckoned to him to speak—answered, “Knowing [that] for many years you have been a judge to this nation, I answer more cheerfully the things concerning myself;
11 Ти можеш довідатися, що нема більш дванадцяти день, як прийшов я до Єрусалиму вклонитися.
you being able to know that it is not more than twelve days to me since I went up to worship in Jerusalem,
12 І вони ані в храмі, ані в синагогах, ні в місті мене не здиба́ли, щоб я з ким сперечався, або колотнечу в наро́ді здіймав.
and neither did they find me reasoning with anyone in the temple, or making a dissension of the multitude, nor in the synagogues, nor in the city;
13 І не можуть вони дове́сти тобі того, у чо́му тепер оскаржа́ють мене.
nor are they able to prove against me the things concerning which they now accuse me.
14 Але признаю́сь тобі, що в дорозі оцій, яку звуть вони єрессю, я Богові отців служу́ так, що вірую всьому, що в Зако́ні й у Пророків написане.
And I confess this to you, that, according to The Way that they call a sect, so I serve the God of the fathers, believing all things that have been written in the Law and the Prophets,
15 І маю надію я в Бозі, — чого й самі вони сподіва́ються, — що настане воскресіння праведних і неправедних.
having hope toward God, which they themselves also wait for, [that] there is about to be a resurrection of the dead, both of righteous and unrighteous;
16 І я пильно дба́ю про те, щоб за́всіди мати сумління невинне, щодо Бога й людей.
and in this I exercise myself, to always have a conscience void of offense toward God and men.
17 А по довгих рока́х я прибув, щоб подати моєму наро́дові ми́лостиню та при́носи.
And after many years I came, about to do kind acts to my nation, and offerings,
18 Ось при цьо́му знайшли мене дехто з юдеїв азійських очищеного в храмі, а не з на́товпом чи з колотнечею.
in which certain Jews from Asia found me purified in the temple, not with multitude, nor with tumult,
19 Їм належало б ось перед тебе прибути й казати, коли мають вони що на мене.
whom it is necessary to be present before you, and to accuse, if they had anything against me,
20 Або самі ці нехай скажуть, чи якусь неправду знайшли на мені, як я в синедріоні стояв,
or let these same say if they found any unrighteousness in me in my standing before the Sanhedrin,
21 крім отого єдиного виразу, що я його крикнув, стоячи́ серед них: „За воскресіння мертвих приймаю від вас суд сьогодні!“
except concerning this one voice, in which I cried, standing among them—Concerning a resurrection of the dead I am judged by you today.”
22 Але Фе́лікс, дуже добре дорогу цю знавши, відро́чив їм справу, говорячи: „Розсуджу́ вашу справу, коли тисяцький Лісій прибу́де“.
And having heard these things, Felix delayed them—having known more exactly of the things concerning The Way—saying, “When Lysias the chief captain may come down, I will know fully the things concerning you”;
23 І він сотникові наказав сторожити Павла́, але мати полегшу, і не боронити ніко́му з близьки́х його, щоб служили йому.
having also given a direction to the centurion to keep Paul, to let [him] also have liberty, and to forbid none of his own friends to minister or to come near to him.
24 А по декількох днях прийшов Фе́лікс із дружи́ною своєю Друзі́ллою, що була юде́янка, і покликав Павла, та слухав від нього про віру в Ісуса Христа.
And after certain days, Felix having come with his wife Drusilla, being a Jewess, he sent for Paul, and heard him concerning faith toward Christ,
25 І як розповідав він про праведність, і про здержливість, та про майбу́тній суд, то Фе́лікса страх обгорнув, і він відповів: „Тепер іди собі, відповідного ж ча́су покличу тебе!“
and he reasoning concerning righteousness, and self-control, and the judgment that is about to be, Felix, having become afraid, answered, “For the present be going, and having time, I will call for you”;
26 Разом із тим і сподіва́вся він, що дасть Павло грошей йому, тому й часто його приклика́в і розмову з ним вів.
and at the same time also hoping that money will be given to him by Paul, that he may release him, therefore, also sending for him often, he was conversing with him;
27 Як минуло ж два роки, то Фе́лікс одержав наступника, — По́рція Фе́ста. А Фелікс бажав догодити юдеям, — і в в'язниці Павла́ залиши́в.
and two years having been fulfilled, Felix received a successor, Porcius Festus; Felix also willing to lay a favor on the Jews, left Paul bound.
