1 Коли ж поча́вся день П'ятдесятниці, всі вони однодушно знахо́дилися вкупі.
And whanne the daies of Pentecost weren fillid, alle the disciplis weren togidre in the same place.
2 І на́гло зчинився шум із не́ба, ніби буря рапто́ва зірва́лася, і перепо́внила ввесь той дім, де сиділи вони.
And sodeynli ther was maad a sown fro heuene, as of a greet wynde comynge, and it fillide al the hous where thei saten.
3 І з'явилися їм язи́ки поді́лені, немов би огне́нні, та й на кожному з них по одно́му осів.
And diuerse tungis as fier apperiden to hem, and it sat on ech of hem.
4 Усі ж вони спо́внились Духом Святим, і почали́ говорити іншими мо́вами, як їм Дух промовляти давав.
And alle weren fillid with the Hooli Goost, and thei bigunnen to speke diuerse langagis, as the Hooli Goost yaf to hem for to speke.
5 Перебува́ли ж в Єрусалимі юдеї, люди побожні, від усякого наро́ду під небом.
And ther weren in Jerusalem dwellinge Jewis, religiouse men, of ech nacioun that is vndur heuene.
6 А коли оцей го́мін зчинився, зібралася бе́зліч наро́ду, — та й диву далися, бо кожен із них тут почув, що вони розмовляли їхньою власною мовою!
And whanne this vois was maad, the multitude cam togidere, and thei weren astonyed in thouyt, for ech man herde hem spekinge in his langage.
7 Усі ж побенте́жилися та дивувалися, та й казали один до одно́го: „Хіба ж не галіле́яни всі ці, що гово́рять?
And alle weren astonyed, and wondriden, and seiden togidere, Whether not alle these that speken ben men of Galyle,
8 Як же кожен із нас чує свою́ власну мову, що ми в ній народи́лись?
and hou herden we ech man his langage in which we ben borun?
9 Парфя́ни та мі́дяни та еламі́ти, також ме́шканці Месопота́мії, Юдеї та Каппадокі́ї, Понту та Азії,
Parthi, and Medi, and Elamyte, and thei that dwellen at Mesopotami, Judee, and Capodosie, and Ponte,
10 і Фрі́ґії та Памфі́лії, Єгипту й лівійських земель край Кіре́ни, і захожі римля́ни,
and Asie, Frigie, and Pamfilie, Egipt, and the parties of Libie, that is aboue Sirenen, and `comelingis Romayns, and Jewis,
11 юдеї й нововірці, крі́тяни й араби, — усі чуємо ми, що говорять вони про великі діла Божі мовами нашими!“
and proselitis, men of Crete, and of Arabie, we han herd hem spekynge in oure langagis the grete thingis of God.
12 І всі не вихо́дили з дива, і безрадні були, і говорили один до одно́го: „Що ж то статися має?“
And alle weren astonyed, and wondriden, `and seiden togidere, What wole this thing be?
13 А інші казали глузу́ючи: „Вони повпива́лись вином молодим!“
And othere scorneden, and seiden, For these men ben ful of must.
14 Ставши ж Петро із Одинадцятьма́, свій голос підніс та й промовив до них: „Мужі юдейські та ме́шканці Єрусалиму! Нехай вам оце стане відо́ме, і послухайте слів моїх!
But Petre stood with the enleuene, and reiside vp his vois, and spak to hem, Ye Jewis, and alle that dwellen at Jerusalem, be this knowun to you, and with eris perseyue ye my wordis.
15 Бо не п'я́ні вони, як ви ду́маєте, — бо третя година дня,
For not as ye wenen, these ben dronkun, whanne it is the thridde our of the dai;
16 а це те, що пророк Йоі́л передрік:
but this it is, that was seid bi the prophete Johel,
17 „І буде останніми днями, говорить Госпо́дь: Я виллю від Духа Свого на всяке тіло, — і будуть пророкува́ти сини ваші та ваші до́ньки, юнаки́ ж ваші бачити будуть виді́ння, а старим вашим сни будуть сни́тися.
And it schal be in the laste daies, the Lord seith, Y schal helde out my spirit on ech fleisch; and youre sones and youre douytris schulen prophesie, and youre yonge men schulen se visiouns, and youre eldris schulen dreme sweuenes.
18 І на рабів Моїх і на рабинь Моїх за тих днів Я також виллю від Духа Свого, — і пророкувати вони бу́дуть!
And on my seruauntis and myn handmaidens in tho daies Y schal schede out of my spirit, and thei schulen prophecie.
19 І дам чуда на небі вгорі, а внизу на землі ці знаме́на: кров, і огонь, і ку́ряву диму.
And Y schal yyue grete wondris in heuene aboue, and signes in erthe bynethe, blood, and fier, and heete of smoke.
20 Переміниться сонце на те́мряву, а місяць на кров, перше ніж день Господній настане, великий та славний!
The sunne schal be turned in to derknessis, and the moone in to blood, bifor that the greet and the opyn dai of the Lord come.
21 І станеться, що кожен, хто покличе Господнє Ім'я́, той спасеться“.
And it schal be, ech man which euere schal clepe to help the name of the Lord, schal be saaf.
22 Мужі ізраїльські, послухайте ви оцих слів: Ісуса Назаряни́на, Мужа, що Його Бог прославив вам силою, і чудами, і тими знаме́нами, що Бог через Нього вчинив серед вас, як самі ви те знаєте,
Ye men of Israel, here ye these wordis. Jhesu of Nazareth, a man preued of God bifor you bi vertues, and wondris, and tokenes, which God dide bi hym in the myddil of you,
23 Того, що був ви́даний певною волею та передба́ченням Божим, ви руками беззаконників розп'яли́ та забили.
as ye witen, ye turmentiden, and killiden hym bi the hoondis of wyckid men, bi counseil determyned and bitakun bi the forknouwyng of God.
24 Та Бог воскресив Його, пута смерти усунувши, — вона бо тримати Його не могла.
Whom God reiside, whanne sorewis of helle weren vnboundun, bi that that it was impossible that he were holdun of it.
25 Бо каже про Нього Давид: „Мав я Господа за́всіди перед очима своїми, бо Він по правиці моїй, щоб я не захитався.
For Dauid seith of hym, Y saiy afer the Lord bifore me euermore, for he is on my riythalf, that Y be not mouyd.
26 Тому серце моє звеселилось, і зрадів мій язик, і тіло моє відпочи́не в надії.
For this thing myn herte ioiede, and my tunge made ful out ioye, and more ouere my fleisch schal reste in hope.
For thou schalt not leeue my soule in helle, nethir thou schalt yiue thin hooli to se corrupcioun. (Hadēs g86)
28 Ти дороги життя об'явив мені, Ти мене перепо́вниш утіхою перед обличчям Своїм“!
Thou hast maad knowun to me the weies of lijf, thou schalt fille me in myrthe with thi face.
29 Мужі-браття! Нехай буде вільно мені сміло сказати вам про патріярха Давида, що помер і похований, і знахо́диться гріб його в нас аж до цього дня.
Britheren, be it leueful boldli to seie to you of the patriark Dauid, for he is deed and biried, and his sepulcre is among vs in to this dai.
30 А бувши ж пророком, та відаючи, що „Бог клятвою клявся йому посади́ти на престолі його від плоду його сте́гон“,
Therfore whanne he was a prophete, and wiste, that with a greet ooth God hadde sworn to hym, that of the fruyt of his leende schulde oon sitte on his seete,
31 у передба́ченні він говорив про Христове воскре́сення, що „не буде зоставлений в аду́“, ані тіло Його „не зазнає зотління“. (Hadēs g86)
he seynge afer spak of the resurreccioun of Crist, for nether he was left in helle, nether his fleisch saiy corrupcioun. (Hadēs g86)
32 Бог Ісуса Цього воскресив, чого свідки всі ми!
God reiside this Jhesu, to whom we alle ben witnessis.
33 А отож, як правицею Божою був Він возне́сений, і обі́тницю Духа Святого прийняв від Отця, то й злив Він оте, що ви бачите й чуєте.
Therfor he was enhaunsid bi the riythoond of God, and thorouy the biheest of the Hooli Goost that he took of the fadir, he schedde out this spirit, that ye seen and heren.
34 Не зійшов бо на небо Давид, але сам він говорить: „Промовив Госпо́дь Господе́ві моєму: Сядь право́руч Мене,
For Dauid stiede not in to heuene; but he seith, The Lord seide to my Lord,
35 доки не покладу́ Я Твоїх ворогів підніжком ногам Твоїм!“
Sitte thou on my riyt half, til Y putte thin enemyes a stool of thi feet.
36 Ото ж, нехай ввесь Ізраїлів дім твердо знає, що і Господом, і Христом учинив Бог Його, Того Ісуса, що Його розп'яли́ ви!“
Therfor moost certeynli wite al the hous of Israel, that God made hym bothe Lord and Crist, this Jhesu, whom ye crucefieden.
37 Як почули ж оце, вони серцем розжа́лобились, та й сказали Петрові та іншим апо́столам: „Що ж ми маємо робити, мужі-браття?“
Whanne thei herden these thingis, thei weren compunct in herte; and thei seiden to Petre and othere apostlis, Britheren, what schulen we do?
38 А Петро до них каже: „Покайтеся, і нехай же охриститься кожен із вас у Ім'я́ Ісуса Христа на відпу́щення ваших гріхів, — і да́ра Духа Святого ви при́ймете!
And Petre seide to hem, Do ye penaunce, and eche of you be baptisid in the name of Jhesu Crist, in to remissioun of youre synnes; and ye schulen take the yifte of the Hooli Goost.
39 Бо для вас ця обі́тниця, і для ваших дітей, і для всіх, що „дале́ко знаходяться, кого б тільки покликав Госпо́дь, Бог наш“.
For the biheest is to you, and to youre sones, and to alle that ben fer, which euer oure Lord God hath clepid.
40 І іншими багатьома́ словами він засвідчував та вмовляв їх, говорячи: „Рятуйтесь від цього лукавого роду!“
Also with othere wordis ful many he witnesside to hem, and monestide hem, and seide, Be ye sauyd fro this schrewid generacioun.
41 Отож ті, хто прийняв його слово, охристилися. І пристало до них того дня душ тисяч зо три!
Thanne thei that resseyueden his word weren baptisid, and in that dai soulis weren encreesid, aboute thre thousinde;
42 І вони перебува́ли в науці апо́стольській, та в спільно́ті брате́рській, і в лама́нні хліба, та в моли́твах.
and weren lastynge stabli in the teching of the apostlis, and in comynyng of the breking of breed, in preieris.
43 І був о́страх у кожній душі, бо багато чинили апо́столи чуд та знаме́н.
And drede was maad to ech man. And many wondris and signes weren don bi the apostlis in Jerusalem, and greet drede was in alle.
44 А всі віруючі були вкупі, і мали все спі́льним.
And alle that bileueden weren togidre, and hadden alle thingis comyn.
45 І вони продавали маєтки та до́бра, і всім їх ділили, як кому чого треба було́.
Thei selden possessiouns and catel, and departiden tho thingis to alle men, as it was nede to ech.
46 І кожного дня перебува́ли вони однодушно у храмі, і, ломлячи хліб по домах, поживу приймали із радістю та в сердечній просто́ті,
And ech dai thei dwelliden stabli with o wille in the temple, and braken breed aboute housis, and token mete with ful out ioye and symplenesse of herte,
47 вихваляючи Бога та маючи ласку в усього народу. І щоденно до Церкви Госпо́дь додава́в тих, що спасалися.
and herieden togidere God, and hadden grace to al the folk. And the Lord encreside hem that weren maad saaf, ech dai in to the same thing.
