2 Самуїлова 8
1 І сталося по то́му, і побив Давид филисти́млян, і поконав їх. І взяв Давид ке́рму вла́ди з руки́ филисти́млян.
And it comes to pass afterward that David strikes the Philistines, and humbles them, and David takes the bridle of the metropolis out of the hand of the Philistines.
2 І побив він Моава, і перемі́ряв їх шну́ром, поклав їх на зе́млю, — і відмі́ряв два шну́ри на побиття́, а повен шнур — на позоста́влення при житті. І стали моавитяни Давидовими рабами, які прино́сили йому дани́ну.
And he strikes Moab, and measures them with a line, causing them to lie down on the earth, and he measures two lines to put to death, and the fullness of the line to keep alive, and the Moabites are for servants to David, bearers of a present.
3 І побив Давид Гадад'езера, сина Рехова, царя Цови, коли той ішов був віднови́ти вла́ду свою при рі́чці Ефра́ті.
And David strikes Hadadezer son of Rehob, king of Zobah, in his going to bring back his power by the River [Euphrates];
4 І здобу́в Давид від нього тисячу й сім сотень їздців та двадцять тисяч чоловіка пішого. А коням усіх тих колесни́ць Давид попідрі́зував жили, і позоста́вив із того сто колесни́ць.
and David captures from him one thousand and seven hundred horsemen, and twenty thousand footmen, and David utterly destroys the whole of the charioteers; he leaves only one hundred of their charioteers.
5 І прийшов Ара́м дама́ський, щоб допомогти Гадад'езерові, цареві Цови, та Давид побив в Арамі двадцять і дві тисячі чоловіка.
And Aram of Damascus comes to give help to Hadadezer king of Zobah, and David strikes twenty-two thousand men of Aram;
6 І настанови́в Давид зало́ги в дама́ському Арамі, — і став Арам для Давида за рабів, що прино́сили данину йому, а Господь допомагав Давидові в усьому, де́ він ходив.
and David puts garrisons in Aram of Damascus, and Aram is for a servant to David, carrying a present; and YHWH saves David wherever he has gone;
7 І забрав Давид золоті щити, що були в рабів Ґадад'езера, і приніс їх до Єрусалиму.
and David takes the shields of gold which were on the servants of Hadadezer, and brings them to Jerusalem;
8 А з Бетаху та з Беротаю, міст Гадад'езерових, цар Давид узяв дуже багато міді.
and from Betah, and from Berothai, cities of Hadadezer, King David has taken very much bronze.
9 А коли почув Тоі, цар Хамоту, що Давид побив усе ві́йсько Гадад'езера,
And Toi king of Hamath hears that David has struck all the force of Hadadezer,
10 то Тоі послав свого сина Йора́ма до царя Давида, щоб повіта́ти його, та щоб поблагослови́ти його за те, що він за́вжди воював з Гадад'езером та побив його, бо Тоі воював проти Гадад'езера. А в руці його були́ речі золоті, і речі срібні, і речі мідяні.
and Toi sends his son Joram to King David to ask of him of welfare, and to bless him (because that he has fought against Hadadezer, and strikes him, for Hadadezer had been a man of wars [with] Toi), and in his hand have been vessels of silver, and vessels of gold, and vessels of bronze,
11 Тако́ж їх присвятив цар Давид Господеві ра́зом зо сріблом та золотом, що він присвятив був із за́браного в усіх наро́дів, яких він здобув:
also King David sanctified them to YHWH, with the silver and the gold which he sanctified of all the nations which he subdued:
12 з Араму, і з Моаву, і з синів Аммона, і з филисти́млян, і з Амали́ка, і зо здо́бичі Гадад'езера, сина Рехова, царя Цови.
of Aram, and of Moab, and of the sons of Ammon, and of the Philistines, and of Amalek, and of the spoil of Hadadezer son of Rehob king of Zobah.
13 І здобу́в Давид собі ім'я́, коли він вернувся з побиття́ вісімнадцяти тисяч Араму в Беґе-Мелах.
And David makes a name in his turning back from his striking Aram in the Valley of Salt—eighteen thousand;
14 І він поста́вив зало́ги в Едо́мі, — в усьому Едомі поставив зало́ги. І став увесь Едом за рабів для Давида. І допомагав Господь Давидові в усьому, де́ він ходив.
and he puts garrisons in Edom—he has put garrisons in all of Edom, and all Edom are servants to David; and YHWH saves David wherever he has gone.
15 І царював Давид над усім Ізраїлем, і чинив Давид суд та справедливість для всього наро́ду свого.
And David reigns over all Israel, and David is doing judgment and righteousness to all his people,
16 А Йоав, син Церуї, був над ві́йськом, а Йосафа́т, син Ахілудів, був канцлером.
and Joab son of Zeruiah [is] over the host, and Jehoshaphat son of Ahilud [is] remembrancer,
17 А Садо́к, син Ахітува, та Ахімелех, син Евіятара, були священики, Серая був писарем.
and Zadok son of Ahitub, and Ahimelech son of Abiathar, [are] priests, and Seraiah [is] scribe,
18 А Беная, син Єгояди, був над Керетянином та над Пелетянином. А Давидові сини були нача́льниками царсько́го дво́ру.
and Benaiah son of Jehoiada [is over] both the Cherethite and the Pelethite, and the sons of David have been ministers.
