1 хроніки 13
1 І ра́дився Давид із тисячниками та з сотниками, зо всіма́ значни́ми.
And David consulted with the officers of the thousands and hundreds, and with every leader.
2 І сказав Давид до всієї Ізраїлевої грома́ди: „Якщо вам це добре, а від Господа, Бога нашого вподо́бане, пошлі́мо до наших братів, позосталих по всіх Ізраїлевих края́х, а з ними до священиків та Левитів, по містах та по їхніх пасовиськах, і нехай зберу́ться до нас.
And David said unto all the congregation of Israel, if it seem good unto you, and if it be of the Lord our God, let us send widely about unto our brethren who are left in all the lands of Israel, and with them unto the priests and Levites who are in their cities and open districts, that they may gather themselves together unto us.
3 І вернімо ковчега нашого Бога до нас, бо не зверта́лися ми до нього за Саулових днів“.
And let us bring round the ark of our God to us; for we have inquired not at it in the days of Saul.
4 І сказала вся громада, щоб зробити так, бо слу́шна була та річ в оча́х усього народу.
And all the congregation said that this should be done; for the king was right in the eyes of all the people.
5 І зібрав Давид усього Ізраїля від єгипетського Шіхору й аж туди, де йде́ться до Хамату, щоб спрова́дити Божого ковчега з Кір'ят-Єаріму.
So David assembled all Israel together, from Shichor of Egypt even unto the entrance of Chemath, to bring the ark of God from Kiryath-ye'arim.
6 І пішов Давид та ввесь Ізра́їль у Баалу, в Юдин Кір'ят-Єарім, щоб ви́нести звідти ковчега Бога, Господа, що сидить на херувимах, що ім'я́ Його приклика́ється.
And David went up, with all Israel, to Ba'alah, [that is] to Kiryath-ye'arim, which belonged to Judah, to bring up thence the ark of God the Lord, that dwelleth between the cherubim, whose name is called [on it].
7 І пове́зли Божого ковчега на ново́му возі з Авінадавового дому, а Узза та Ахйо прова́дили того воза.
And they conveyed the ark of God in a new wagon out of the house of Abinadab: and 'Uzza and Achyo guided the wagon.
8 А Давид та ввесь Ізраїль грали перед Божим лицем з усієї сили, — із пісня́ми, і на ци́трах, і на а́рфах, і на бу́бнах, і на цимба́лах, і на су́рмах.
And David and all Israel played before God with all their might, and with singing, and on harps, and on psalteries, and on tambourines, and with cymbals, and with trumpets.
9 І прийшли вони аж до Кідонового то́ку, і простяг Узза свою руку, щоб підхопи́ти ковчега, бо воли нахили́ли його.
And when they came as far as the threshing-floor of Kidon, 'Uzza put forth his hand to take hold of the ark; for the oxen shook it.
10 І запалився на Уззу гнів Господній, і Він убив його за те, що простяг руку свою до ковчега. І помер він там перед Господнім лицем...
And the anger of the Lord was kindled against 'Uzza, and he smote him, because he had put forth his hand toward the ark: and he died there before God.
11 І зажури́вся Давид тим, що Господь убив Уззу, і він назвав ім'я тому місцю: Перец-Узза, і так воно зветься аж до цього дня.
And it was grievious to David, because the Lord had suddenly taken away 'Uzza; and he called that place Perez-'uzza [[Breach of 'Uzza]] until this day.
12 І того дня Давид злякався Бога, говорячи: „Як я внесу́ до се́бе Божого ковчега?“
And David was afraid of God that day, saying, How shall I bring home to me the ark of God?
13 І не повіз Давид ковчега до се́бе, до Давидового Міста, а напра́вив його до дому гатянина Овед-Едома.
So David removed not the ark unto himself into the city of David, but had it carried round into the house of 'Obed-edom the Gittite.
14 І пробува́в Божий ковчег із домом Овед-Едома в його домі три місяці. А Господь поблагослови́в дім Овед-Едома, та все, що було його́.
And the ark of God remained in the house of 'Obed-edom, in his house, three months. And the Lord blessed the house of 'Obed-edom, and all that belonged to him.
