1 А, як утихомирилась буча, покликав Павел учеників і попрощавшись, вийшов у дорогу до Македониї.
After the tumult had ceased, Paul called the disciples to him, and bade them farewell, and departed, in order to go into Macedonia.
2 Пройшовши ж ті сторони і напімнувши їх многими словами, прийшов у Грецію.
And when he had gone through those regions, and had exhorted them with many words, he came into Greece.
3 Поживши ж (там) три місяці, як засіли на него Жиди, коли хотів був плисти в Сирию, надумавсь вернутись через Македонию.
And having remained there three months, he determined to return through Macedonia, because a plot had been laid for him by the Jews, as he was about to sail to Syria.
4 Товаришували йому до Азиї Сосипатр Вериєць і Солуняне Аристарх та Секунд, та Гай Дервянин, та Тимотей, і Азияне Тихик та Трофим.
And Sopater of Berea, and Aristarchus and Secundus of Thessalonica, and Gaius of Derbe, and Timothy and Tychicus and Trophimus, who were Asiatics, accompanied him to Asia.
5 Сї, пійшовши попереду, підождали нас у Троядї.
These went before, and waited for us at Troas.
6 Ми ж поплили після опрісночних днїв із Филип, та й прибули до них за пять днів у Трояду, де пробули сім день.
But we sailed from Philippi, after the days of unleavened bread, and came to them at Troas in five days, where we remained seven days.
7 Первого ж дня в тижнї, як зібрались ученики на ломаннє хлїба, проповідував їм Павел, хотячи вийти назавтра, і продовжив слово до півночи.
And on the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul discoursed to them, intending to depart on the morrow; and he continued his speech till midnight.
8 Було ж сьвітла много в гірницї, де ми зібрали ся.
And there were many lamps in the upper room, in which they had met together.
9 Сидїв же один молодець, на ймя Євтих, на вікнї, та й обняв його твердий сон; і, як Павед промовляв много, похилрзпшсь зі сну, упав з третього поверху до долу, і підняли його мертвого.
And a certain young man, named Eutychus, was sitting in the window, overpowered with deep sleep: and, as Paul was discoursing a long time, being oppressed with sleep, he fell from the third story, and was taken up dead.
10 Зійшовши ж Павел у низ, припав до него, й обнявши рече: Не трівожтесь, душа бо його в йому.
But Paul went down, and fell upon him, and embracing him, said: Be not troubled, for his life is in him.
11 Зійшовши ж угору, переломив хліб, і попоївши, бесідував богато аж до зорі, та й пійшов.
And he went up again, and broke bread, and ate; and having conversed a long time, till daylight, he thus departed.
12 Привели ж хлопця живого і втішились немало.
And they brought the young man alive, and were not a little comforted.
13 Ми ж, прийшовши до корабля, поплили в Асон, хотівши звідтіля взяти Павла, так бо звелів, хотівши сам ійти пішки.
And we went on before to the ship, and put to sea for Assos, intending to take Paul on board at that place; for he had so directed, intending to go himself on foot.
14 Як же зійшов ся з нами в Асонї, узявши його, прибули ми в Митилену.
And when he met us at Assos, we took him on board, and came to Mitylene;
15 А відпливши звідтіля, причалили ми другого дня проти Хиоса, на другий же день поплили в Самос, та, побувши в Трогилиї, другого дня прийшли в Милет.
and sailing from that place, we came, on the following day, opposite to Chios; and, on the next day, we arrived at Samos: and after stopping at Trogyllium, we came, on the next day, to Miletus.
16 Надумавсь бо Павел плисти мимо Єфеса, щоб не гаятись в Азиї, а поспішав, коли можна, щоб йому бути в день пятидесятницї в Єрусалимі.
For Paul had determined to sail past Ephesus, that he might not spend time in Asia; for he hastened, that, if it were possible for him, he might be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.
17 З Милета ж, піславши в Єфес, прикликав старших церковних.
From Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called the elders of the church.
18 Як же прийшли до него, рече їм: Ви знаєте з первого дня, як прийшов я в Азию, яким робом пробував я з вами всякого часу,
And when they had come to him, he said to them: You know, from the first day on which I came into Asia, how I have been with you during the whole time,
19 служачи Господові з усякою покорою і многими слїзми і спокусами, які прилучали ся мені од Жидівського чигання,
serving the Lord with all lowliness of mind, and with tears, and with trials, which came upon me through the plots of the Jews;
20 і що я ні від чого корисного не вхиляв ся, щоб не звістити вам і не навчати вас прилюдно і по домам,
and that I have kept back nothing that was profitable, but have preached to you, and taught you both publicly, and from house to house,
21 сьвідкуючи й Жидам і Єленянам покаяннє перед Богом і віру в Господа нашого Ісуса Христа.
bearing full testimony both to Jews and to Greeks, of the repentance that leads to God, and of the faith that leads to our Lord Jesus Christ.
22 І ось я, звязаний духом, ійду в Єрусалим, не знаючи, що в йому приключить ся мені.
And now, behold, I am going, bound in spirit, to Jerusalem, not knowing what shall befall me there,
23 Тільки що Дух сьвятий по городам сьвідкує слово, що кайдани мене та муки ждуть.
except that in every city the Holy Spirit testifies to me, saying, That bonds and afflictions await me.
24 Та ні про що я не дбаю, й не дорога мені душа моя, аби з радістю скінчити путь мій і ту службу, що прийняв я од Господа Ісуса, щоб сьвідкувати евангелию благодати Божої.
But I esteem this a matter of no importance, nor do I hold my life dear to myself, so that I may finish my course with joy, and the ministry that I have received from the Lord Jesus, to bear full testimony to the gospel of the grace of God.
25 І тепер ось я знаю, що більш не бачити мете лиця мого ви всї, між котрими ходив я, проповідуючи царство Боже.
And now, behold, I know that you all, among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God, will see my face no more.
26 Тим я сьвідкую вам сьогодні, що чистий я від крові всіх.
For this reason I solemnly affirm to you this day, that I am clean from the blood of all men.
27 Бо я не вхилявсь обявляти вам усяку волю Божу.
For I have not shunned to declare to you the whole counsel of God.
28 Тим достерегайте себе і все стадо, в котрому вас Дух сьвятий настановив єпископами, щоб пасти церкву Божу, котру придбав кровю своєю.
Therefore, take heed to yourselves, and to all the flock over which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers, that you be shepherds to the church of God, which he has purchased with his own blood.
29 Я бо знаю се, що після виходу мого прийдуть вовки хижі між вас, що не пощадять стада.
For I know this, that, after my departure, rapacious wolves will enter in among you, who will not spare the flock;
30 І з вас самих устануть люде, говорячи розворотне, щоб потягти учеників за собою.
and men will arise from among yourselves, speaking perverse things, that they may draw off disciples after them.
31 Тим пильнуйте, памятаючи, що три роки ніч і день не переставав я із слїзми напоминати кожного.
Therefore watch, remembering that for three years, by day and by night, I ceased not to warn every one of you with tears.
32 А тепер передаю вас, брати, Богові і слову благодати Його, котрим може збудувати вас і дати вам наслїддє між усїма осьвяченими.
And now, brethren, I commend you to God, and to the word of his grace; to Him who is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all the sanctified.
33 Срібла або золота або одежі, - нічого не жадав я.
I have coveted no man’s silver, or gold, or apparel.
34 Сами ж знаєте, що потребинам моїм і тим, хто бував зо мною, служили оці руки мої.
You yourselves know that these hands have ministered to my necessities, and to those who were with me.
35 У всьому показав я вам, що, так працюючи, треба помагати малосильним і памятати слова Господа Ісуса, що Він глаголав: Більше щасте давати, ніж приймати.
In all things I have taught you by example, that by thus laboring, you ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus; for he himself said, It is more blessed to give, than to receive.
36 І се промовивши, упав на колїна свої, і моливсь із усїма ними.
And when he had thus spoken, he kneeled down and prayed with them all.
37 Доволї ж було плачу у всіх, і, впавши на шию Павлові, цілували його,
And they all wept much, and fell on Paul’s neck, and kissed him,
38 смуткуючи найбільш про те слово, що промовив, що більш не мають лиця його видїти. І провели його до корабля.
grieving most of all for the word he had spoken, that they would see his face no more. And they conducted him to the ship.
