1 Петра 1
1 Петр, апостол Ісуса Христа, вибраним захожанам розсїяння по Понту, Галатиї, Кападокиї, Азиї і Витиниї,
Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the sojourners that are dispersed through Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,
2 по провидінню Бога Отця, через осьвяченнє Духа, на послуханнє і кропленнє крові Ісус-Христової: Благодать вам і мир нехай намножить ся.
elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, by the sanctification of the Spirit, in order to obedience, and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: grace be to you, and peace be multiplied.
3 Благословен Бог і Отець Господа нашого Ісуса Христа, що, по великій своїй милости, знов породив нас на впованнє живе воскресеннєм Ісус-Христовим із мертвих,
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who, according to his abundant mercy, has, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, regenerated us for a living hope
4 до наслїддя нетлїнного і непорочного, що не зовяне, сховане на небесах про вас,
in respect to an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fades not away, reserved in heaven for us,
5 котрі силою Божою стережені пробуваєте через віру, на спасеннє, готове явитись останнього часу.
who are kept secure by the power of God through faith, to a salvation ready to be revealed in the last time:
6 Сим радуйте ся, мало нині (коли треба), смуткуючи у всяких напастях,
in which you rejoice, though now for a little while, since it is needful, you are in sorrow under various temptations;
7 щоб випробувана віра ваша, геть дорожча золота пропадущого, хоч і огнем випробуваного, знайшлась на похвалу і честь і славу в одкриттю Ісус-Христовому.
that your faith, when proved, being much more precious than gold, which perishes though it be tried by fire, may be found to be for praise and honor and glory, at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
8 Котрого не бачивши любите, і на котрого нині не дивлячись, а віруючи, радуєтесь радістю невимовною і преславною,
whom, though you have not seen him, yet you love; on whom not now looking, but believing, you rejoice with joy unspeakable, and full of glory,
9 приймаючи конець віри вашої, спасеннє душам.
receiving the end of your faith, the salvation of your souls.
10 Про се ж то спасеннє розвідували і допитувались пророки, що про вашу благодать пророкували,
Concerning which salvation the prophets that prophesied of the grace that should be for you, did inquire, and search diligently,
11 дознаючись, якого або котрого часу являв у них Дух Христов, поперед сьвідкуючи про Христові страстї і про славу, що після них;
inquiring what things, and what time, the Spirit of Christ that was in them did signify, when it testified, beforehand, the sufferings of Christ, and the glories that should follow them;
12 котрим відкрито, що не самим собі, а нам служили вони (тим), що нині звістили вам ті, котрі благовіствували вам Духом сьвятим, посланим із неба, (і) на що бажають ангели дивитись.
to whom it was revealed, that, not for themselves, but for us, they ministered the things that are now preached to you by those who have made known to you the gospel, through the Holy Spirit sent down from heaven; into which things angels desire to look.
13 Тим то, підперезавши поясницї думок ваших, будьте тверезі, і звершено вповайте на благодать, що приносить ся вам в одкриттю Ісуса Христа.
Wherefore, gird up the loins of your mind; be watchful, and hope constantly for the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ:
14 Яко діти слухняні, не водячи себе по давнім хотїнням вашим, що в незнанню,
as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the desires which you formerly had in your ignorance;
15 а, яко Покликавший вас сьвятий, і. ви самі сьвяті у всьому життю будьте:
but as he who has called you is holy, so be you holy in all your behavior:
16 бо написано: "Будьте сьвяті, бо я сьвят."
because it is written, Be you holy, for I am holy.
17 І коли Отцем зовете Того, що, не вважаючи на лице, судить кожного по ділу, то Зo страхом провожайте час вашого домування,
And since you call on the Father, who, without respect of persons, judges according to every man’s work, pass the time of your sojourning in fear:
18 знаючи, що не тлінним сріблом або золотом викупились од марного життя вашого, від отців переданого,
because you know that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver or gold, from your vain mode of life received by tradition from your fathers,
19 но дорогоцінною кровю Христа, як непорочного і чистого агнця,
but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without spot and blemish,
20 призначеного перш настання сьвіта, обявленого в останнї часи задля вас,
who was indeed foreordained before the foundation of the world, but manifested in these last times for you,
21 що через Його віруєте в Бога, котрий воскресив Його з мертвих і дав Йому славу, щоб віра ваша і надія була на Бога.
who through him do believe in God who raised him from the dead, and gave him glory, that your faith and hope might be in God.
22 Душі ваші очистивши, в послусї правди Духом, на братню любов нелицемірну, із чистого серця любіте один одного щиро,
Having purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit, to unfeigned love of the brethren, love one another with a pure heart fervently,
23 як народжені не з тлінного сїмя а з нетлїнного, через слово Бога живого і пробуваючого по вік. (aiōn g165)
having been begotten again, not with corruptible seed, but with incorruptible, by the word of God, which lives and abides forever. (aiōn g165)
24 Бо "всяке тіло, як трава, і всяка слава чоловіча, як цьвіт на траві: Зісохла трава і цьвіт її упав;
For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass; the grass withers, and its flower fails away:
