Псалми 89
1 Роздуми Етана-езрахітянина. Про милість Господа повіки співатиму, з роду в рід звіщатиму Його вірність.
A Maskil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing evermore of the love of the Lord, proclaiming to all generations his faithfulness.
2 Кажу-бо я: навіки поставлена милість, на небесах утверджена Твоя вірність.
For your love you did promise to build up forever, your faithfulness firm as the heavens themselves.
3 «Уклав Я Завіт Свій з обраним Моїм, поклявся Я Давидові, рабу Своєму:
“I have made with my chosen a covenant, and sworn to David my servant,
4 навіки утверджу насіння Твоє, із роду в рід [непохитно] поставлю престол твій». (Села)
to establish his seed forever, and to build up his throne to all ages.” (Selah)
5 І небеса прославлять чудеса Твої, Господи, Твою вірність – на зібранні святих.
Then the holy assembly in heaven praised your marvelous faithfulness, Lord.
6 Бо хто на хмарах може стати в один ряд із Господом? Хто серед синів Божих міг би бути подібним до Господа?
For who in the skies may compare with the Lord? Who is like the Lord among the gods?
7 Бог трепетно вшанований на великій раді святих і грізний серед усіх, хто Його оточує.
A God to be feared in the holy assembly, awful and great above all who are round him.
8 Господи, Боже Воїнств, хто такий могутній, як Ти? Вірність Твоя – навколо Тебе.
O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as you? Your strength and faithfulness, Lord, surround you.
9 Ти пануєш над розбурханим морем; коли здіймаються хвилі його, Ти втихомирюєш їх.
You are the Lord of the raging sea: when its waves surge, it is you who still them.
10 Ти вразив Раава, немов убитого в бою; Своїм раменом міцним Ти розсіяв ворогів Своїх.
It was you who did pierce and crush Rahab in pieces, and scatter your foes by your mighty arm.
11 Твої небеса і земля Твоя; Ти заснував всесвіт і все, що наповнює його.
Yours are the heavens, yours also the earth, the world and its fulness, it’s you who did found them.
12 Ти створив північ і південь; гори Тавор і Хермон веселяться іменем Твоїм.
The north and the south, it’s you have created them; Tabor and Hermon shout praise to your name.
13 Рамено Твоє могутнє, рука Твоя міцна, піднесена правиця Твоя.
You have an arm with the might of a hero; strong is your hand, high uplifted your right hand.
14 Правда й справедливість – основа Твого престолу, милість та істина йдуть перед Твоїм обличчям.
Justice and right are the base of your throne, kindness and faithfulness ever attend you.
15 Блаженний народ, що знає звук сурми – у світлі Твого обличчя, Господи, вони ходять.
Happy the people who know the glad shout, who walk, O Lord, in the light of your face.
16 Іменем Твоїм веселяться цілий день і праведністю Твоєю підносяться.
They exult in your name all the day, and your righteousness they extol.
17 Бо окраса їхньої міці – Ти, і завдяки прихильності Твоїй наш ріг піднесеться.
For you are our strength and our pride. Your favor will lift us to honor.
18 Адже від Господа – щит наш, і від Святого Ізраїлевого – цар наш.
For the holy Lord of Israel keeps our defender and king.
19 Колись промовляв Ти у видінні вірним Своїм, кажучи: «Я подав допомогу воїну, підніс обраного з народу.
In a vision of old you did speak in this way to the one whom you loved: “A crown I have set on the hero I chose to be over the people
20 Я знайшов Давида, раба Мого, олією святою помазав його.
“I found my servant David, and anointed with holy oil.
21 Рука Моя підтримає його, рамено Моє зміцнить його.
My hand will be with him forever, my arm will give him strength.
22 Не здолає його ворог, і син беззаконня не буде його гнітити.
“No enemy will dare to assail him, nor the wicked to oppress him;
23 Пошматую перед ним усіх ворогів його й розіб’ю ненависників його.
but his foes I will shatter before him, I will strike down those who hate him.
24 Вірність і милість Моя з ним, і в ім’я Моє піднесеться ріг його.
“My loyal love shall attend him, and I will lift him to honor.
25 Покладу його руку на море, а його правицю – на ріки.
I will set his hand on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
26 Він буде кликати Мене: „Ти – мій Батько, мій Бог і скеля мого спасіння!“
“As for him, he will call me ‘My father, my God, and my rock of salvation.’
27 Я зроблю його первістком, вищим від усіх царів землі.
And I will make him my firstborn, highest of kings on the earth.
28 Повіки берегтиму милість Мою до нього, і Завіт Мій з ним буде непорушним.
“My love will I keep for him ever, my covenant with him shall stand fast.
29 Продовжу насіння його навіки, і престол його – як дні неба.
His line will I make everlasting, and his throne as the days of the heavens.
30 Якщо ж залишать нащадки його Закон Мій і не будуть ходити за Моїми законами правосуддя,
“If his children forsake my law, and walk not as I have ordained;
31 якщо статутами Моїми знехтують і заповідей Моїх дотримуватися не будуть,
if they profane my statutes, and do not keep my commandments;
32 то Я жезлом покараю беззаконня їхні й ударами – їхні гріхи.
“I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with scourges.
33 Але милості Моєї не відійму від нього й не зраджу вірності Моєї.
But my love will I not take from him, nor will I belie my faithfulness.
34 Не збезчещу Завіт Мій і того, що вийшло із вуст Моїх, не зміню.
“I will not profane my covenant by changing the word that has passed my lips.
35 Одного разу заприсягнув Я святістю Моєю, як же [тепер] скажу Я неправду Давидові?
Once have I solemnly sworn and I would not lie to David,
36 Насіння його повік перебуватиме, і престол його, як сонце, переді Мною,
“that his line should endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me,
37 як той місяць – свідок вірний на хмарах – навіки утверджений». (Села)
firm as the moon which for ever and ever is fixed in the sky.” (Selah)
38 Але Ти знехтував, відкинув, розгнівався на Свого помазанця.
But you have cast off in contempt, and been furious with your anointed.
39 Ти зневажив Завіт із рабом Своїм, кинув на землю вінець його.
You have spurned the covenant with your servant, and his sacred crown dashed to the ground.
40 Ти зруйнував усі огорожі його, перетворив фортеці його на руїну.
You have broken down all his walls, and laid his bulwarks in ruins.
41 Грабують його всі, хто проходить дорогою; він став ганьбою для сусідів своїх.
All who pass on their way despoil him, the scorn of his neighbors is he now.
42 Ти підніс правицю супротивників його, порадував усіх його ворогів.
You have given his foes the victory, and made all his enemies glad.
43 Ти повернув назад вістря його меча й не підтримав його на війні.
You have turned back his sword from the foe, you did not lift him up in the battle.
44 Ти поклав край його величі й престол його кинув на землю.
The sceptre you took from his hand, and his throne you did hurl to the ground.
45 Ти скоротив дні юності його, вкрив його соромом. (Села)
You have shortened the days of his youth, and covered him with shame. (Selah)
46 Доки, Господи, ховатися будеш? Чи назавжди? [Доки] палатиме, як вогонь, гнів Твій?
How long, Lord will you hide you forever? How long are the fires of your wrath to burn?
47 Згадай, яке швидкоплинне життя моє! Для якого марного [життя] Ти створив усіх синів людських!
Remember, Lord, the shortness of life how fleeting you made all people.
48 Чи може хто жити й не побачити смерті? Чи може хто врятувати душу свою від царства мертвих? (Села) (Sheol h7585)
Who can live without seeing death? Who can rescue their life from the clutch of Sheol? (Selah) (Sheol h7585)
49 Де ж милість Твоя, яку раніше Ти з’являв, Володарю, про яку присягався Давидові вірністю Своєю?
Where, Lord, is your kindness of old, which you in your faithfulness swore to David?
50 Згадай, Володарю, ганьбу рабів Твоїх, яку я терплю в нутрі моєму від численних народів,
Remember, O Lord, how your servants are mocked, how I bear in my heart the scorn of all nations
51 як безчестять вороги Твої, Господи, як неславлять сліди помазанця Твого.
The scorn which your enemies hurl, O Lord, which they hurl at the footsteps of your anointed.
52 Благословенний Господь повіки!
Blest be the Lord, for ever and ever. Amen and Amen.
