< Sakaria 1 >
1 Ɔbosome a ɛtɔ so nwɔtwe wɔ ɔhene Dario adedie afe a ɛtɔ so mmienu mu no, Awurade asɛm baa odiyifoɔ Sakaria a ɔyɛ Berekia babarima na ɔno nso yɛ Ido babarima nkyɛn sɛ:
In the eighth month in the second year of Darius, this message of the Lord came to the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo:
2 “Awurade bo fuu mo tete agyanom.
The Lord was furious with your ancestors.
So tell the people this message of the Lord of hosts: “Return to me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you” says the Lord of hosts.
4 Monnyɛ sɛ mo tete agyanom, a adiyifoɔ a wɔdii ɛkan no pae mu ka kyerɛɛ wɔn sɛ, ‘Sei na Asafo Awurade seɛ: Monnane mfiri mo akwammɔne ne nneyɛeɛ bɔne ho,’ nanso wɔantie no na wɔanyɛ aso amma no.
“Do not be like your ancestors to whom the former prophets cried, ‘The Lord of hosts says to turn now from your evil ways, and from your evil deeds’. They did not heed nor listen to me,” says the Lord.
5 Mo tete agyanom wɔ he seesei? Na adiyifoɔ no, wɔte ase daa anaa?
“Your ancestors, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever?
6 Na me nsɛm a menam mʼasomfoɔ adiyifoɔ so kaeɛ no, amma mo tete agyanom no so anaa? “Afei wɔnuu wɔn ho na wɔkaa sɛ, ‘Asafo Awurade ayɛ yɛn deɛ ɛfata yɛn akwan ne nneyɛeɛ, sɛdeɛ ɔyɛɛ nʼadwene sɛ ɔbɛyɛ no.’”
But did not my words and my statutes with which I charged my servants the prophets overtake your ancestors? And they repented and said, ‘Just as the Lord of hosts planned to do to us, according to our ways, and according to our deeds, so he has dealt with us.’”
7 Na ɛda a ɛtɔ so aduonu ɛnan wɔ ɔbosome a ɛtɔ so dubaako a wɔfrɛ no Sebat, wɔ ɔhene Dario adedie afe a ɛtɔ so mmienu so no, Awurade asɛm baa odiyifoɔ Sakaria a ɔyɛ Ido babarima Berekia babarima no nkyɛn.
In the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, this message of the Lord came to the prophet Zechariah, the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo:
8 Anadwo no menyaa anisoadehunu, mehunuu ɔbarima bi a ɔte ɔpɔnkɔ kɔkɔɔ so wɔ mʼanim! Na ɔgyina ohwam nnua bi ntam wɔ bɔnhwa tiaa a emu dɔ mu. Na apɔnkɔ kɔkɔɔ, nnodoeɛ ne fitaa wɔ nʼakyi.
I saw in the night a man on a red horse, among the myrtle trees that were in the valley-bottom. Behind him there were horses, red, sorrel, and white.
9 Mebisaa sɛ, “Yeinom ase ne sɛn, me wura?” Ɔbɔfoɔ a ɔne me rekasa no buaa sɛ, “Mɛkyerɛ wo adekodeɛ a wɔyɛ.”
Then said I, “My Lord, what are these?” And the messenger who was talking with me said, “I will show you what they are.”
10 Enti, ɔbarima a ɔgyina ohwam nnua ntam mu no kyerɛɛ aseɛ sɛ, “Wɔyɛ wɔn a Awurade asoma wɔn sɛ wɔnkɔ ewiase afanan nyinaa no.”
And the man who was standing among the myrtle trees answered, “They are those whom the Lord has sent to patrol the earth.”
11 Na wɔbɛka kyerɛɛ Awurade ɔbɔfoɔ a ɔgyina ohwam nnua no mu no sɛ, “Yɛakyin afa asase no so nyinaa, na yɛhunuu sɛ ewiase nyinaa wɔ ahomegyeɛ ne asomdwoeɛ.”
And the riders answered the messenger of the Lord who was standing among the myrtle trees, “We have gone up and down through the world and behold, all the earth is still and at peace.”
12 Afei, Awurade ɔbɔfoɔ no kaa sɛ, “Asafo Awurade, ɛnkɔsi da bɛn na wobɛyi wʼahummɔborɔ afiri Yerusalem ne Yuda nkuro a wo bo afu wɔn mfirinhyia aduɔson yi so?”
Then the messenger of the Lord said, “Lord of hosts, how long will you have no pity for Jerusalem and the cities of Judah with which you have been angry for seventy years?”
13 Enti, Awurade kaa abodwosɛm ne awerɛkyekyesɛm kyerɛɛ ɔbɔfoɔ a ɔne me kasaeɛ no.
And the Lord answered the messenger who was talking with me with kind and comforting words.
14 Afei ɔbɔfoɔ a ɔne me rekasa no kaa sɛ, “Pae mu ka saa asɛm yi: Yei ne deɛ Asafo Awurade seɛ: ‘Metwe Yerusalem ne Sion ho ninkunu yie,
So the messenger who was talking with me said to me, “Proclaim now that the Lord of hosts says: I am deeply concerned for Jerusalem.
15 nanso, me bo afu aman a wɔn aso mu adwo wɔn no. Na anka me bo mfu wɔn bebree, nanso wɔmaa Israel amanehunu no boroo so.’
But I am deeply angry with the arrogant, complacent nations. I was only a little angry with Israel but they made the suffering worse.
Therefore, says the Lord, I am turning to show mercy to Jerusalem. My temple will be rebuilt in it, says the Lord of hosts, and a measuring line will be stretched over Jerusalem.
Proclaim again: Thus says the Lord of hosts: My cities will again overflow with prosperity and the Lord will again comfort Zion and choose Jerusalem.”
18 Afei, memaa mʼani so, na mehunuu mmɛn ɛnan!
Now I looked up and saw four horns.
19 Mebisaa ɔbɔfoɔ a ɔne me rekasa no sɛ, “Yeinom yɛ ɛdeɛn?” Ɔbuaa me sɛ, “Saa mmɛn yi na ɛbɔɔ Yuda, Israel ne Yerusalem peteeɛ no.”
I said to the messenger who was talking with me, “What are these?” He answered, “These are the horns which scattered Judah, Israel and Jerusalem.”
20 Na Awurade kyerɛɛ me adwumfoɔ ɛnan.
Then the Lord showed me four smiths.
21 Mebisaa sɛ, “Ɛdeɛn na yeinom rebɛyɛ?” Ɔbuaa sɛ, “Mmɛn ɛnan no bɔɔ Yuda petee a obiara antumi amma ne tiri so, nanso adwumfoɔ yi aba sɛ wɔrebɛhunahuna wɔn, na woatutu aman no mmɛn a wɔmemaa so tiaa Yudaman na wɔbɔɔ nnipa no peteeɛ no.”
I said, “What are these coming to do?” He answered, “The horns scattered Judah, so that no one dared lift their head. But the smiths have come to terrify them, to crush the horns of the nations which lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter its people.”
