1 Nwoma yi firi Onyankopɔn ɔsomfoɔ ne Yesu Kristo somafoɔ Paulo nkyɛn. Wɔyii me na wɔsomaa me sɛ memmɛboa nhyɛ nnipa a Onyankopɔn ayi wɔn no gyidie mu den na menkyerɛkyerɛ wɔn nokwasɛm a ɛde nyamesuro ba,
Paul a seruaunt of God, and an Apostle of Iesus Christ, according to the faith of Gods elect, and the acknowledging of the trueth, which is according vnto godlines,
2 a ne nnyinasoɔ yɛ nkwa a ɛnni awieeɛ no. Onyankopɔn a ɔnni atorɔ no hyɛɛ yɛn asetena yi ho bɔ ansa na ɔrefiri ewiase ase; (aiōnios g166)
Vnto the hope of eternall life, which God that cannot lie, hath promised before the world began: (aiōnios g166)
3 na ɛberɛ a ɛsɛ mu no, ɔdaa asɛm no a daa yɛka ho asɛm no adi. Onyankopɔn a ɔyɛ yɛn Agyenkwa na wafrɛ me sɛ menyɛ adwuma a ɔde ahyɛ me nsa yi.
But hath made his worde manifest in due time through the preaching, which is committed vnto me, according to the commandement of God our Sauiour:
4 Meretwerɛ akɔma me ba Tito afa gyidie baako a yɛn nyinaa kura mu no ho: Adom ne asomdwoeɛ a ɛfiri Agya Onyankopɔn ne Kristo Yesu, yɛn Agyenkwa no nka wo!
To Titus my naturall sonne according to the common faith, Grace, mercie and peace from God the Father, and from the Lord Iesus Christ our Sauiour.
5 Megyaa wo Kreta sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a wobɛtoto nneɛma a aka no pɛpɛɛpɛ na wayi mpanimfoɔ atuatua asafo a ɛwɔ kuro biara mu no ano.
For this cause left I thee in Creta, that thou shouldest continue to redresse the thinges that remaine, and shouldest ordeine Elders in euery citie, as I appointed thee,
6 Kae mmara a mehyɛ maa wo no. Ɔpanin yɛ obi a ne ho nni asɛm na ɔwɔ yere baako na ne mma yɛ agyidifoɔ a wɔmmɔ ahohwi bra, na wɔnyɛ asoɔden nso.
If any be vnreproueable, the husband of one wife, hauing faithfull children, which are not slandered of riot, neither are disobedient.
7 Ɛnsɛ sɛ mfomsoɔ biara ba ɔpanin no ho ɛfiri sɛ, Onyame adwuma hyɛ ne nsa. Ɛnsɛ sɛ ɔyɛ ahomasoɔ, anaa obi a ne bo nkyɛre fu anaa ɔkɔwensani anaa basabasayɛfoɔ anaa sikanibereɛfoɔ.
For a Bishop must bee vnreproueable, as Gods steward, not froward, not angrie, not giuen to wine, no striker, not giuen to filthie lucre,
8 Ɛsɛ sɛ ɔyɛ obi a ɔpɛ ahɔhoyɛ na nʼani gye deɛ ɛyɛ ho na nʼadwenem da hɔ na ɔtene na ɔyɛ kronn na ɔwɔ ahohyɛsoɔ.
But harberous, one that loueth goodnesse, wise, righteous, holy, temperate,
9 Ɛsɛ sɛ ɔsɔ asɛm no mu denden sɛdeɛ wɔkyerɛɛ no no. Sɛ ɛba saa a, ɔbɛtumi ahyɛ afoforɔ den wɔ saa nkyerɛkyerɛ pa no mu, na wada wɔn a wɔtia asɛm no mu no nso mfomsoɔ adi.
Holding fast that faithfull worde according to doctrine, that he also may bee able to exhort with wholesome doctrine, and conuince them that say against it.
10 Nnipa pii wɔ hɔ a wɔsɔre tia na wɔnam wɔn nkwaseasɛm so daadaa afoforɔ, ne titire no, wɔn a wɔfiri twetiatwasom no mu.
For there are many disobedient and vaine talkers and deceiuers of mindes, chiefly they of the Circumcision,
11 Ɛsɛ sɛ wosi wɔn nkyerɛkyerɛ no ano ɛfiri sɛ, wɔnam wɔn nkyerɛkyerɛ bɔne no so ma ntoto ba mmusua mu nam so de pɛ sika.
Whose mouthes must bee stopped, which subuert whole houses, teaching things, which they ought not, for filthie lucres sake.
12 Mpo Kreta adiyifoɔ no mu baako kaa sɛ, “Kretafoɔ no yɛ atorofoɔ, mmoa atirimuɔdenfoɔ ne akwadwofoɔ adidifoɔ.”
One of themselues, euen one of their owne prophets said, The Cretians are alwaies liars, euill beastes, slowe bellies.
13 Na asɛm a ɔkaeɛ no yɛ nokorɛ. Esiane saa enti, ɛsɛ sɛ moka wɔn anim yie sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a wɔbɛnya gyidie pa,
This witnesse is true: wherefore conuince them sharply, that they may be sound in ye faith,
14 na wɔantena ase amma twetiatwa atorɔsɛm ne nhyɛ a ɛfiri nnipa a wɔapo nokorɛ no.
And not taking heede to Iewish fables and commandements of men, that turne away from the trueth.
15 Biribiara yɛ kronn ma wɔn a wɔyɛ kronn no, nanso biribiara nyɛ kronn mma wɔn a wɔn ho agu fi na wɔnni gyidie, ɛfiri sɛ, wɔn adwene ne wɔn atiboa ho agu fi.
Vnto the pure are all things pure, but vnto them that are defiled, and vnbeleeuing, is nothing pure, but euen their mindes and consciences are defiled.
16 Wɔka sɛ wɔnim Onyankopɔn, nanso wɔn nneyɛeɛ nkyerɛ saa. Wɔyɛ nnipa a obiara tan wɔn, na wɔyɛ asoɔdenfoɔ a wɔntumi nyɛ ade pa biara.
They professe that they know God, but by works they deny him, and are abominable and disobedient, and vnto euery good worke reprobate.
