< Nnwom Mu Dwom 8 >
1 Sɛ anka woyɛɛ me nuabarima a wonum me maame nufu ano, ɛna mehunuu wo wɔ abɔntene so a, anka mɛfe wʼano, a obiara ntumi mmu me animtiaa.
Oh that thou were as my brother, who sucked the breasts of my mother! When I should find thee outside, I would kiss thee. Yes, and none would despise me.
2 Anka mɛdi wʼanim na mede wo aba me maame efie, ɔno a woakyerɛkyerɛ me. Anka mɛma wo bobesa a wɔde pɛprɛ afra mu, me ateaa mu nsuo dɔkɔ dɔkɔ no bi.
I would lead thee, and bring thee into my mother's house, who would instruct me. I would cause thee to drink of spiced wine, of the juice of my pomegranate.
3 Ne nsa benkum da mʼatikɔ na ne nsa nifa aka me afam ne bo.
His left hand under my head, and his right hand should embrace me.
4 Yerusalem mmammaa, mehyɛ mo sɛ, morennyane na morenhwanyane ɔdɔ mu kɔsi ɛberɛ a ɛsɛ mu.
I adjure you, O daughters of Jerusalem, that ye stir not up, nor awake love, until it please.
5 Hwan na ɔfiri ɛserɛ so reba a ɔtwere ne dɔfoɔ kokom yi? Ababaawa: Mekanyanee wo wɔ aprɛ dua no ase; ɛhɔ na wo maame nyinsɛnee woɔ, ɛhɔ na deɛ ɔkoo awoɔ no woo woɔ.
Who is this who comes up from the wilderness, leaning upon her beloved? Under the apple tree I awoke thee. There thy mother was in travail with thee. There she who brought thee forth was in travail.
6 Fa me to wʼakoma so sɛ nsɔanodeɛ, sɛ nsɔanodeɛ wɔ wʼabasa so, ɛfiri sɛ ɔdɔ ano yɛ den sɛ owuo, ne ninkunutweɛ tim hɔ sɛ damena. Ɛhyehye sɛ ogyadɛreɛ, sɛ ogyaframa a ano yɛ den pa ara. (Sheol )
Set me as a seal upon thy heart, as a seal upon thine arm. For love is strong as death, jealousy is cruel as Sheol. The flashes of it are flashes of fire, a most vehement flame. (Sheol )
7 Nsuo dodoɔ rentumi nnum ɔdɔ; nsubɔntene rentumi nhohoro nkɔ. Sɛ obi de ne fie ahonya nyinaa bɛsesa ɔdɔ a anka wɔremmu no adeɛ a ɛsom bo.
Many waters cannot quench love, nor can floods drown it. If a man would give all the substance of his house for love, he would be utterly scorned.
8 Yɛwɔ nuabaa akumaa bi a, ne nufu mmobɔeɛ. Ɛdeɛn na yɛbɛyɛ ama yɛn nuabaa yi wɔ da a wɔbɛbisa no ase?
We have a little sister, and she has no breasts. What shall we do for our sister in the day when she shall be spoken for?
9 Sɛ ɔyɛ ɔfasuo a, yɛbɛsi dwetɛ abantenten abɔ ne ho ban. Sɛ ɔyɛ ɛpono a, yɛde ntweneduro bɛsi ne ɛpono no kwan.
If she is a wall, we will build upon her a turret of silver. And if she is a door, we will enclose her with boards of cedar.
10 Meyɛ ɔfasuo, na me nufu te sɛ abantenten. Enti nʼani so no mayɛ sɛ obi a ɔde deɛ ɛsɔ ani reba.
I am a wall, and my breasts like the towers. Then I was in his eyes as one who found peace.
11 Na Salomo wɔ bobeturo wɔ Baal-Hamon; ɔde ne bobeturo no maa apaafoɔ. Na ɛsɛ sɛ wɔn mu biara tua no nnwetɛbena apem.
Solomon had a vineyard at Baal-hamon. He let out the vineyard to keepers. Every one for the fruit of it was to bring a thousand pieces of silver.
12 Nanso me bobeturo yi yɛ me dea. Me deɛ, meremfa mma; Salomo de ne deɛ gye nnwetɛbena apem, na ɔtua nʼapaafoɔ nnwetɛbena ahaanu ma wɔhwɛ ne nnuaba no so.
My vineyard, which is mine, is before me. Thou, O Solomon, shall have the thousand, and those who keep the fruit of it, two hundred.
13 Wo a wote turo no mu ne nnamfonom a wɔka wo ho, ma mente wo nne.
Thou who dwell in the gardens, the companions hearken for thy voice. Cause me to hear it.
14 Bra ma yɛnkɔ, me dɔfoɔ, na yɛ wo ho sɛ ɔdabɔ ba anaasɛ ɔforoteɛ ba a ɔwɔ mmepɔ a nnuhwam ahyɛ so ma so.
Make haste, my beloved, and be thou like to a roe or to a young hart upon the mountains of spices.
