< Rut 2 >

1 Ɔbarima ɔdefoɔ a na ɔyɛ okunini bi tenaa Betlehem a na wɔfrɛ no Boas. Na ɔyɛ Naomi kunu Elimelek busuani.
And Naomi had a kinsman of her husband’s, a mighty man of wealth, of the family of Elimelech; and his name was Boaz.
2 Ɛda koro bi, Rut, Moabni, ka kyerɛɛ Naomi sɛ, “Ma menkɔ afuo mu na menkɔboaboa atokoɔ nkaseɛ na menni obi a ɔbɛma me adi nʼakyi.” Na Naomi kaa sɛ, “Ɛyɛ, me babaa, kɔ.”
And Ruth the Moabitess said to Naomi, Let me now go to the field, and glean ears of corn after him in whose sight I shall find grace. And she said to her, Go, my daughter.
3 Enti, Rut kɔ kɔdii atwafoɔ no akyi. Na sɛdeɛ ɛbaeɛ ne sɛ, ɔhunuu sɛ ɔreyɛ adwuma wɔ Boas a ɔyɛ nʼase Elimelek busuani no afuo mu.
And she went, and came, and gleaned in the field after the reapers: and her hap was to light on a part of the field belonging to Boaz, who was of the kindred of Elimelech.
4 Ɛberɛ a ɔwɔ hɔ no, Boas firi Betlehem baeɛ. Ɔkyeaa atwafoɔ no sɛ, “Awurade ne mo ntena!” Atwafoɔ no gyee so sɛ, “Awurade nhyira wo.”
And, behold, Boaz came from Bethlehem, and said to the reapers, The LORD be with you. And they answered him, The LORD bless you.
5 Ɛnna Boas bisaa ne sohwɛfoɔ sɛ, “Ababaawa bɛn na ɔwɔ nohoa hɔ no?”
Then said Boaz to his servant that was set over the reapers, Whose damsel is this?
6 Sohwɛfoɔ no buaa sɛ, “Ɔyɛ ababaawa bi a ɔfiri Moab a ɔne Naomi baeɛ.
And the servant that was set over the reapers answered and said, It is the Moabitish damsel that came back with Naomi out of the country of Moab:
7 Anɔpa yi ara na ɔbisaa me sɛ, ɔbɛtumi aboaboa atokoɔ ano adi atwafoɔ no akyi anaa. Ɔyɛ nsiyɛfoɔ a ɛberɛ kakra bi na ɔde homee wɔ pata no ase hɔ.”
And she said, I pray you, let me glean and gather after the reapers among the sheaves: so she came, and has continued even from the morning until now, that she tarried a little in the house.
8 Boas kɔɔ hɔ kɔka kyerɛɛ Rut sɛ, “Me babaa tie. Wo ne yɛn ntena ha ara na boaboa atokoɔ; mma nkɔ afuo foforɔ biara mu. Di mmaa a wɔreyɛ adwuma wɔ mʼafuo yi mu no akyi pɛɛ.
Then said Boaz to Ruth, Hear you not, my daughter? Go not to glean in another field, neither go from hence, but abide here fast by my maidens:
9 Hwɛ faako a wɔretwa wɔ afuo no mu na di wɔn akyi. Mabɔ mmeranteɛ no kɔkɔ sɛ wɔnnha wo. Na sɛ sukɔm de wo a, nom nsuo a wɔakɔsa afiri abura no mu no bi.”
Let your eyes be on the field that they do reap, and go you after them: have I not charged the young men that they shall not touch you? and when you are thirsty, go to the vessels, and drink of that which the young men have drawn.
10 Rut butuiɛ, de nʼanim kyerɛɛ fam daa no ase. Na ɔkaa sɛ, “Adɛn enti na manya saa adom yi wɔ wʼani so, me a meyɛ ɔnanani yi?”
Then she fell on her face, and bowed herself to the ground, and said to him, Why have I found grace in your eyes, that you should take knowledge of me, seeing I am a stranger?
11 Boas buaa sɛ, “Deɛ woayɛ ama wʼase ɛfiri wo kunu wuo akyi no nyinaa, wɔaka akyerɛ me, sɛ wofirii wʼagya ne wo maame ne wo ɔman na wo ne nnipa a wonnim wɔn baabiara no bɛtenaeɛ no.
And Boaz answered and said to her, It has fully been showed me, all that you have done to your mother in law since the death of your husband: and how you have left your father and your mother, and the land of your nativity, and are come to a people which you knew not heretofore.
12 Awurade, Israel Onyankopɔn a woanya dwanekɔbea wɔ ne ntaban ase no nnom wo.”
The LORD recompense your work, and a full reward be given you of the LORD God of Israel, under whose wings you are come to trust.
13 Na ɔno nso kaa sɛ, “Ma menkɔ so nnya wʼanim adom daa, me wura. Woama me awerɛkyekyerɛ na woakasa akyerɛ wʼafenaa ayamyɛ so, me a mensɛ na memfata wo nnwumayɛfoɔ no mu baako mpo no.”
Then she said, Let me find favor in your sight, my lord; for that you have comforted me, and for that you have spoken friendly to your handmaid, though I be not like to one of your handmaidens.
14 Ɛduruu adidiberɛ no, Boas frɛɛ no sɛ, “Bra ma yɛnnidi. Wotumi de wo burodo no bɔ nsã biara a wopɛ mu.” Enti, ɔne nʼayutwafoɔ no tenaa ase na Boas maa no aduane sene sɛdeɛ ɔbɛtumi adi mpo.
And Boaz said to her, At mealtime come you here, and eat of the bread, and dip your morsel in the vinegar. And she sat beside the reapers: and he reached her parched corn, and she did eat, and was sufficed, and left.
15 Ɛberɛ a Rut sane kɔɔ nʼadwuma so bio no, Boas ka kyerɛɛ ne mmeranteɛ no sɛ, “Momma no mmoaboa atokoɔ no ano mfiri nʼafiafi no mu na monnsi no kwan.
And when she was risen up to glean, Boaz commanded his young men, saying, Let her glean even among the sheaves, and reproach her not:
16 Na monyiyi afiafi no mu deɛ no bi nnyae mu ngu fam mma no na ɔnsesa, na monnha no.”
And let fall also some of the handfuls of purpose for her, and leave them, that she may glean them, and rebuke her not.
17 Enti, Rut sesaa atokoɔ no wɔ hɔ da mu no nyinaa na ɔporoo atokoɔ no saa anwummerɛ no, ɔnyaa bɛyɛ lita aduonu mmienu.
So she gleaned in the field until even, and beat out that she had gleaned: and it was about an ephah of barley.
18 Ɔsoa de kɔɔ kurom, de kɔkyerɛɛ nʼase. Afei, Rut de nʼawiaduane a ɔgya sii ne hɔ no maa no.
And she took it up, and went into the city: and her mother in law saw what she had gleaned: and she brought forth, and gave to her that she had reserved after she was sufficed.
19 Naomi hunuiɛ no, ɔteaam sɛ, “Ɛdɔɔso yie! Na ɛhe na ɛnnɛ woboaboaa saa atokoɔ yi nyinaa ano firi? Ɛhe na wokɔyɛɛ adwuma? Awurade nhyira deɛ ɔboaa wo no!” Rut kaa ɔbarima a ɔyɛɛ adwuma wɔ nʼafuom no ho asɛm kyerɛɛ nʼase no, ɔtoaa so kaa sɛ, “Deɛ meyɛɛ adwuma wɔ nʼafuom no, wɔfrɛ no Boas.”
And her mother in law said to her, Where have you gleaned to day? and where worked you? blessed be he that did take knowledge of you. And she showed her mother in law with whom she had worked, and said, The man’s name with whom I worked to day is Boaz.
20 Naomi ka kyerɛɛ nʼase no sɛ, “Awurade nhyira no. Ɔrekyerɛ yɛn ne wo kunu a wawuo no nʼayamyɛ. Saa ɔbarima no yɛ abusuafoɔ a wɔbɛn yɛn pɛɛ no mu baako a ɔyɛ abusua no mu ɔgyefoɔ baako.”
And Naomi said to her daughter in law, Blessed be he of the LORD, who has not left off his kindness to the living and to the dead. And Naomi said to her, The man is near of kin to us, one of our next kinsmen.
21 Rut kaa sɛ, “Deɛ ɛka ho bio ne sɛ, mpo, Boas ka kyerɛɛ me sɛ, mensane mmra na me ne nʼatwafoɔ no mmɛtena kɔsi ɛberɛ a wɔbɛwie otwa no.”
And Ruth the Moabitess said, He said to me also, You shall keep fast by my young men, until they have ended all my harvest.
22 Naomi teaam sɛ, “Anwanwasɛm nie! Yɛ deɛ ɔka no. Wo ne nʼadwumayɛfoɔ no ntena kɔsi sɛ wɔbɛwie otwa no. Wʼasom bɛdwo wo wɔ hɔ sen afuo biara mu.”
And Naomi said to Ruth her daughter in law, It is good, my daughter, that you go out with his maidens, that they meet you not in any other field.
23 Enti, Rut ne mmaa a wɔwɔ Boas afuom hɔ no yɛɛ adwuma. Ɔne wɔn boaboaa atokoɔ no ano kɔsii atokotwa no awieeɛ. Afei, ɔne wɔn twaa ayuo nso. Nanso, saa ɛberɛ no nyinaa na ɔne nʼase na ɛte.
So she kept fast by the maidens of Boaz to glean to the end of barley harvest and of wheat harvest; and dwelled with her mother in law.
