< Romafoɔ 6 >
1 Afei, asɛm bɛn na yɛbɛka? Yɛbɛkɔ so atena bɔne mu, sɛdeɛ ɛbɛyɛ a adom bɛdɔɔso anaa?
What then shall we say? Should we continue in sin that grace may abound?
2 Ɛnte saa koraa! Yɛawu ama bɔne, na adɛn enti na ɛsɛ sɛ yɛkɔ so tena bɔne mu?
Far be the thought. We who have died to sin, how shall we still live in it?
3 Anaa monnim sɛ ɛberɛ a wɔbɔɔ yɛn asu hyɛɛ Kristo Yesu mu no, wɔbɔɔ yɛn asu hyɛɛ ne wuo mu?
Are you ignorant that we, as many as have been baptised unto Christ Jesus, have been baptised unto his death?
4 Ɛberɛ a wɔbɔɔ yɛn asu no, yɛwuiɛ, na wɔsiee yɛn ne Kristo. Sɛdeɛ Agya Onyankopɔn nam nʼanimuonyam so nyanee Kristo firii awufoɔ mu baa nkwa mu no, saa ara nso na seesei yɛte ase wɔ nkwa foforɔ mu.
We have been buried therefore with him by baptism unto death, in order that, even as Christ has been raised up from among [the] dead by the glory of the Father, so we also should walk in newness of life.
5 Na sɛ yɛne no ayɛ baako wɔ ne wuo mu a, wɔbɛfa saa ɛkwan korɔ no ara so anyane yɛn aba nkwa mu, na yɛne no ayɛ baako.
For if we are become identified with [him] in the likeness of his death, so also we shall be of [his] resurrection;
6 Yɛnim sɛ wɔbɔɔ yɛn nipadua dada no ne Kristo asɛnnua mu. Wɔyɛɛ yei sɛdeɛ nipadua dada a ɛyɛ bɔne no renyɛ bɔne nkoa bio,
knowing this, that our old man has been crucified with [him], that the body of sin might be annulled, that we should no longer serve sin.
7 ɛfiri sɛ, sɛ onipa wu a, na wɔayi no afiri bɔne tumi ase.
For he that has died is justified from sin.
8 Sɛ yɛne Kristo awu a, yɛwɔ gyidie sɛ yɛne no bɛtena.
Now if we have died with Christ, we believe that we shall also live with him,
9 Ɛfiri sɛ, yɛnim sɛ wɔanyane Kristo afiri owuo mu na ɔrenwu bio. Owuo nni ne so tumi bio.
knowing that Christ having been raised up from among [the] dead dies no more: death has dominion over him no more.
10 Owuo a ɔwuiɛ no, ɔwuu prɛko maa bɔne, na ase a ɔte yi, ɔte ase ma Onyankopɔn.
For in that he has died, he has died to sin once for all; but in that he lives, he lives to God.
11 Ɛno enti, saa ɛkwan korɔ ara so no, ɛsɛ sɛ mofa mo ho sɛ moawu ama bɔne, na mote ase ma Onyankopɔn wɔ Kristo Yesu mu.
So also ye, reckon yourselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus.
12 Ɛnsɛ sɛ bɔne di mo nipadua a ɛwuiɛ no so na amma mo anyɛ bɔne.
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body to obey its lusts.
13 Saa ara nso, ɛnsɛ sɛ mogyaa mo honam akwaa biara ma bɔne sɛ nneɛma a wɔde di amumuyɛsɛm. Na mmom, momfa mo ho mma Onyankopɔn sɛ nnipa a wɔanyane mo afiri owuo mu aba nkwa mu. Momfa mo ho nyinaa mma no, na ɔmfa mo nyɛ tenenee nnwuma.
Neither yield your members instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but yield yourselves to God as alive from among [the] dead, and your members instruments of righteousness to God.
14 Ɛnsɛ sɛ bɔne di mo so, ɛfiri sɛ monnhyɛ mmara ase, na mmom, mohyɛ adom ase.
For sin shall not have dominion over you, for ye are not under law but under grace.
15 Ɛdeɛn bio? Esiane sɛ yɛnhyɛ mmara ase na yɛhyɛ adom ase no enti, ɛsɛ sɛ yɛkɔ so yɛ bɔne anaa? Dabi!
What then? should we sin because we are not under law but under grace? Far be the thought.
16 Monnim sɛ, deɛ motie no ara na ne nkoa ne mo anaa? Sɛ ɛyɛ bɔne a ɛde kɔ owuo mu, anaasɛ ɔsetie a ɛde kɔ tenenee mu.
Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves bondmen for obedience, ye are bondmen to him whom ye obey, whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
17 Nanso, yɛda Onyankopɔn ase! Ɛfiri sɛ, berɛ bi a atwam no a na moyɛ bɔne nkoa no, mode mo akoma nyinaa tiee nkyerɛkyerɛ a wɔde maa mo no.
But thanks [be] to God, that ye were bondmen of sin, but have obeyed from the heart the form of teaching into which ye were instructed.
18 Wɔagye mo afiri bɔne mu ma moabɛyɛ nkoa ama tenenee.
Now, having got your freedom from sin, ye have become bondmen to righteousness.
19 Esiane mo nipasu enti, mede nkoasom ho mfonitwa reboa mo ama moate yeinom nyinaa ase.
I speak humanly on account of the weakness of your flesh. For even as ye have yielded your members in bondage to uncleanness and to lawlessness unto lawlessness, so now yield your members in bondage to righteousness unto holiness.
20 Ɛberɛ a na moyɛ bɔne nkoa no, na teneneeyɛ nni mo so tumi.
For when ye were bondmen of sin ye were free from righteousness.
21 Moyɛɛ nneɛma a afei deɛ mo ani wu wɔ ho no, mfasoɔ bɛn na monyaeɛ? Deɛ ɛkɔwieɛ ne owuo.
What fruit therefore had ye then in the things of which ye are now ashamed? for the end of them [is] death.
22 Nanso, seesei wɔagye mo afiri owuo mu ama moabɛyɛ Onyankopɔn nkoa. Mfasoɔ a monya wɔ mu no kɔ kronkronyɛ mu, na deɛ ɛfiri mu ba yɛ nkwa a ɛnni awieeɛ. (aiōnios )
But now, having got your freedom from sin, and having become bondmen to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end eternal life. (aiōnios )
23 Na bɔne so akatua yɛ owuo, nanso Onyankopɔn akyɛdeɛ yɛ nkwa a ɛnni awieeɛ, wɔ Kristo Yesu yɛn AWURADE mu. (aiōnios )
For the wages of sin [is] death; but the act of favour of God, eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. (aiōnios )
