< Nnwom 94 >
1 Awurade, Onyankopɔn a wotɔ werɛ, Onyankopɔn a wotɔ werɛ, hyerɛn.
O GOD of avenging—Yahweh, GOD of avenging, shine forth:
2 Sɔre, Ao wo a woyɛ asase so ɔtemmufoɔ, tua ahantanfoɔ ka sɛdeɛ ɛfata wɔn.
Lift up thyself, O judge of the earth, Render a recompense unto the proud.
3 Ao Awurade, ɛnkɔsi da bɛn, amumuyɛfoɔ nnye wɔn ani nkɔsi da bɛn?
How long shall the lawless, O Yahweh, How long shall the lawless exult?
4 Wɔkasa ahantan so; ahohoahoa ahyɛ abɔnefoɔ nyinaa ma.
They pour forth [words], they speak arrogantly, All the workers of iniquity, do boast:
5 Ao Awurade, wɔdwerɛ wo nkurɔfoɔ; wɔhyɛ wʼagyapadeɛ so.
Thy people, O Yahweh, they will crush, And, thine inheritance, tread down;
6 Wɔkunkumm akunafoɔ ne amanfrafoɔ; na wɔdi nwisiaa awu.
The widow and sojourner, they will slay, And, the fatherless, murder.
7 Wɔka sɛ, “Awurade nhunu, Yakob Onyankopɔn ayi nʼani.”
Yet have they said—Yah, doth not see, The God of Jacob, doth not understand.
8 Monhwɛ yie, mo agyimifoɔ a mowɔ nnipa no mu; nkwaseafoɔ, da bɛn na mobɛhunu nyansa?
Understand, ye brutish among the people, And, ye dullards, when will ye show discretion?
9 Deɛ ɔbɔɔ aso no, ɔrente asɛm anaa? Deɛ ɔyɛɛ ani no, ɔrenhunu adeɛ anaa?
He that planteth the ear, shall he not hear? Or, that fashioneth the eye, shall he not have power to see?
10 Deɛ ɔtenetene aman so no rentwe aso anaa? Deɛ ɔkyerɛkyerɛ onipa no nnim nyansa anaa?
He that correcteth nations, shall he not reprove? He that teacheth man knowledge!
11 Awurade nim onipa nsusuiɛ; ɔnim sɛ ɛnkɔsi hwee.
Yahweh, knoweth the plans of men, That, they, are a breath!
12 Ao Awurade, nhyira ne onipa a wotenetene ne so, onipa a wokyerɛ no wo mmara no;
How happy the man whom thou correctest, O Yah! And whom, out of thy law, thou instructest!
13 Woma wɔn ɔhome firi amanehunu nna mu, kɔsi sɛ wɔbɛtu amena ama amumuyɛfoɔ.
That thou mayest give him rest from the days of misfortune, Until there be digged—for the lawless one—a pit.
14 Awurade rempo ne nkurɔfoɔ; na ɔrennya nʼagyapadeɛ hɔ da.
For Yahweh, will not abandon, his people, And, his inheritance, will he not forsake;
15 Atemmuo bɛgyina teneneeyɛ so bio, na wɔn a wɔn akoma mu teɛ nyinaa bɛdi so.
For, unto righteousness, shall the judicial sentence return, Then shall follow it—all the upright in heart.
16 Hwan na ɔbɛsɔre atia amumuyɛfoɔ ama me? Hwan na ɔbɛsɔre atia abɔnefoɔ ama me?
Who will rise up for me, against the evil-doers? Who will make a stand for me, against the workers of iniquity?
17 Sɛ Awurade ammoa me a, anka mekɔɔ owuo kommyɛ mu ntɛm so.
If, Yahweh, had not been a help to me, Soon had sunk into silence—my soul!
18 Ɛberɛ a mekaa sɛ, “Menan rewatiri” no, Ao Awurade, wo dɔ no sɔɔ me mu.
If I say, My foot, hath slipped, Thy lovingkindness, O Yahweh, supporteth me.
19 Ɛberɛ a me dadwene dɔɔso no, wʼawerɛkyekye maa me kra abotɔyam.
In the multitude of my cares within me, Thy consolations, delight my soul.
20 Ɔhene a porɔeɛ ahyɛ no ma no ne wo wɔ ayɔnkofa anaa? Wʼani gye ahennie a ɛde amanehunu ba ho anaa?
Shall the throne that inflicteth ruin, have fellowship with thee, That frameth oppression, by statute?
21 Awudifoɔ bɔ mu tia ateneneefoɔ na wɔn a wɔdi bem no, wɔbu wɔn kumfɔ.
They make an attack on the life of the righteous one, —And, innocent blood, they condemn.
22 Nanso Awurade yɛ mʼaban; na me Onyankopɔn ayɛ ɔbotan a ne mu na menya ahintaeɛ.
But, Yahweh, hath become for me a high tower, And my God, my rock of refuge.
23 Ɔbɛtua wɔn nnebɔne no so ka na wɔn amumuyɛ enti, wasɛe wɔn; Awurade yɛn Onyankopɔn bɛsɛe wɔn.
Thus hath he brought back on them their iniquity, And, by their own wickedness, will he destroy them, Destroy them, will Yahweh our God.
