< Nnwom 89 >
1 Esrahini Etan ɔhaw ne amanehunu dwom. Mɛto Awurade adɔeɛ ho dwom daa daa; mede mʼano bɛda wo nokorɛdie adi awoɔ ntoatoasoɔ nyinaa mu.
A Maskil of Ethan the Ezrahite. I will sing evermore of the love of the Lord, proclaiming to all generations his faithfulness.
2 Mɛka sɛ wʼadɔeɛ no tim hɔ daa nyinaa, na watim wo nokorɛdie wɔ ɔsoro hɔ ankasa.
For your love you did promise to build up forever, your faithfulness firm as the heavens themselves.
3 Wokaa sɛ, “Me ne onipa a mayi no no ayɛ apam; maka ntam akyerɛ me ɔsomfoɔ Dawid.
“I have made with my chosen a covenant, and sworn to David my servant,
4 ‘Mɛma wʼase atim hɔ daa na wʼahennwa nso atim wɔ awoɔ ntoantoasoɔ nyinaa mu.’”
to establish his seed forever, and to build up his throne to all ages.” (Selah)
5 Ao Awurade, ɔsorosorofoɔ kamfo wʼanwanwadeɛ, na wo nokorɛdie nso, wɔkamfo wɔ ahotefoɔ asafo mu.
Then the holy assembly in heaven praised your marvelous faithfulness, Lord.
6 Na hwan na ɔne wo Awurade sɛ wɔ ɔsoro hɔ? Hwan na ɔte sɛ Awurade wɔ ɔsoro abɔdeɛ mu?
For who in the skies may compare with the Lord? Who is like the Lord among the gods?
7 Akronkronfoɔ agyinatufoɔ mu, wosuro Onyankopɔn; wɔde suro ma no sene wɔn a wotwa ne ho hyia nyinaa.
A God to be feared in the holy assembly, awful and great above all who are round him.
8 Ao Otumfoɔ Awurade Onyankopɔn, hwan na ɔte sɛ woɔ? Ao Awurade woyɛ kɛseɛ na wo nokorɛdie atwa wo ho ahyia.
O Lord God of hosts, who is mighty as you? Your strength and faithfulness, Lord, surround you.
9 Wodi ɛpo a ɛreworo soɔ so; nʼasorɔkye bobɔ kɔ ɔsoro a, wobrɛ no ase.
You are the Lord of the raging sea: when its waves surge, it is you who still them.
10 Wodwerɛɛ Rahab sɛ atɔfoɔ no mu baako; wode wo basa denden no bɔɔ wʼatamfoɔ pansameeɛ.
It was you who did pierce and crush Rahab in pieces, and scatter your foes by your mighty arm.
11 Ɔsoro wɔ wo, na asase nso wɔ wo; ewiase ne deɛ ɛwɔ mu nyinaa, wo na wohyɛɛ aseɛ.
Yours are the heavens, yours also the earth, the world and its fulness, it’s you who did found them.
12 Wobɔɔ atifi ne anafoɔ. Tabor ne Hermon de ahosɛpɛ to dwom ma wo din.
The north and the south, it’s you have created them; Tabor and Hermon shout praise to your name.
13 Tumi ayɛ wo basa ma; wo nsam wɔ ahoɔden, wama wo nsa nifa so.
You have an arm with the might of a hero; strong is your hand, high uplifted your right hand.
14 Wʼahennwa no fapem yɛ tenenee ne atɛntenenee; adɔeɛ ne nokorɛdie di wʼanim.
Justice and right are the base of your throne, kindness and faithfulness ever attend you.
15 Nhyira nka wɔn a wɔasua sɛdeɛ wɔbɔ wo abɔdin, wɔn a wɔnante wʼanim hann no mu, Ao Awurade.
Happy the people who know the glad shout, who walk, O Lord, in the light of your face.
16 Wɔgye wɔn ani wɔ wo din mu da mu nyinaa; wɔdi ahurisie wɔ wo tenenee mu.
They exult in your name all the day, and your righteousness they extol.
17 Wone wɔn animuonyam ne ahoɔden, na wʼadom enti yɛyɛ nkonimdifoɔ.
For you are our strength and our pride. Your favor will lift us to honor.
18 Ampa ara, yɛn banbɔ firi Awurade hɔ, na Israel Kronkronni no ama yɛn Ɔhene.
For the holy Lord of Israel keeps our defender and king.
19 Ɛda bi wokasaa wɔ anisoadehunu mu, kyerɛɛ wʼahotefoɔ sɛ, “Madom ɔkofoni bi ahoɔden; mapagya aberanteɛ bi afiri nnipa no mu.
In a vision of old you did speak in this way to the one whom you loved: “A crown I have set on the hero I chose to be over the people
20 Mahunu Dawid, me ɔsomfoɔ; mede me ngo kronkron no asra no.
“I found my servant David, and anointed with holy oil.
21 Me nsa bɛwowa no; ampa ara mʼabasa bɛhyɛ no den.
My hand will be with him forever, my arm will give him strength.
22 Ɔtamfoɔ biara renhyɛ no sɛ ɔntua toɔ; omumuyɛfoɔ biara rentumi nhyɛ ne so.
“No enemy will dare to assail him, nor the wicked to oppress him;
23 Mɛdwerɛ nʼatamfoɔ wɔ nʼanim na mabobɔ nʼahohiahiafoɔ ahwe fam.
but his foes I will shatter before him, I will strike down those who hate him.
24 Me nokorɛ adɔeɛ bɛka ne ho, na me din mu, wɔbɛma nʼabɛn so.
“My loyal love shall attend him, and I will lift him to honor.
25 Mɛtrɛ nʼahyeɛ mu akɔsi ɛpo so, na ɔde ne nsa nifa bɛto nsubɔntene so.
I will set his hand on the sea, and his right hand on the rivers.
26 Ɔbɛfrɛ me aka sɛ, ‘Wone mʼagya, me Onyankopɔn, me nkwagyeɛ botan.’
“As for him, he will call me ‘My father, my God, and my rock of salvation.’
27 Mɛyɛ no mʼabakan, asase so ahene nyinaa no mu ɔkɛseɛ.
And I will make him my firstborn, highest of kings on the earth.
28 Mɛma mʼadɔeɛ a mewɔ ma no no atena hɔ daa, na apam a me ne no ayɛ nso bɛtena hɔ daa.
“My love will I keep for him ever, my covenant with him shall stand fast.
29 Mɛma nʼase atim afebɔɔ, nʼahennwa nso bɛtim hɔ akɔsi sɛ ɔsoro bɛtwam.
His line will I make everlasting, and his throne as the days of the heavens.
30 “Sɛ ne mmammarima po me mmara na sɛ wɔanni mʼahyɛdeɛ so,
“If his children forsake my law, and walk not as I have ordained;
31 sɛ wɔbu mʼahyɛdeɛ so na sɛ wɔanni me ɔhyɛ nsɛm so a,
if they profane my statutes, and do not keep my commandments;
32 ɛno deɛ, mede abaa bɛtwe wɔn aso wɔ wɔn bɔne ho na wɔn amumuyɛ nso mede mmaatwa atwe wɔn aso;
“I will punish their sin with the rod, their iniquity with scourges.
33 Nanso, merennyae mʼadɔeɛ a meyɛ ma noɔ no na mɛkɔ so adi no nokorɛ.
But my love will I not take from him, nor will I belie my faithfulness.
34 Meremmu mʼapam no so na merensesa deɛ mede mʼano aka no.
“I will not profane my covenant by changing the word that has passed my lips.
35 Menam me din kronkron no so aka ntam prɛko, na merentwa Dawid atorɔ da.
Once have I solemnly sworn and I would not lie to David,
36 Meremma nʼase ntɔre da na nʼahennwa nso bɛtim wɔ mʼanim te sɛ owia;
“that his line should endure forever, and his throne as the sun before me,
37 ɛbɛtim hɔ daa te sɛ ɔsrane, ɔdansefoɔ nokwafoɔ a ɔwɔ ewiem no.”
firm as the moon which for ever and ever is fixed in the sky.” (Selah)
38 Nanso woapo no, woapa nʼakyi wo bo afu deɛ woasra no ngo no.
But you have cast off in contempt, and been furious with your anointed.
39 Woagu apam a wo ne wo ɔsomfoɔ pameeɛ no woagu nʼahenkyɛ ho fi wɔ mfuturo mu.
You have spurned the covenant with your servant, and his sacred crown dashed to the ground.
40 Woabubu nʼafasuo nyinaa ama nʼabandenden adane mmubuiɛ.
You have broken down all his walls, and laid his bulwarks in ruins.
41 Wɔn a wɔtwam wɔ hɔ nyinaa fom no fa; na wayɛ aniwudeɛ ama ne mfɛfoɔ.
All who pass on their way despoil him, the scorn of his neighbors is he now.
42 Woama nʼatamfoɔ nsa nifa so; ama wɔn nyinaa di ahurisie.
You have given his foes the victory, and made all his enemies glad.
43 Woama nʼakofena ayɛ ɔkwa, na woannyina nʼakyi wɔ ɔko mu.
You have turned back his sword from the foe, you did not lift him up in the battle.
44 Wode nʼanimuonyam aba awieeɛ na woato nʼahennwa atwene fam.
The sceptre you took from his hand, and his throne you did hurl to the ground.
45 Woatwa ne mmeranteberɛ nna so na wode animguaseɛ ngugusoɔ akata ne so.
You have shortened the days of his youth, and covered him with shame. (Selah)
46 Ao Awurade, ɛnkɔsi da bɛn? Wode wo ho bɛhinta afebɔɔ anaa? Wʼabofuhyeɛ bɛkɔ so adɛre akɔsi da bɛn?
How long, Lord will you hide you forever? How long are the fires of your wrath to burn?
47 Kae sɛdeɛ me nkwa nna twam ntɛm so. Ɛfiri sɛ woabɔ yɛn nyinaa sɛ adeɛ a ɛtwa mu ntɛm so!
Remember, Lord, the shortness of life how fleeting you made all people.
48 Hwan na ɔbɛtena ase a ɔrenwu da? Anaasɛ hwan na ɔbɛtumi agye ne ho afiri owuo tumi nsam? (Sheol )
Who can live without seeing death? Who can rescue their life from the clutch of Sheol? (Selah) (Sheol )
49 Ao Awurade, ɛhe na wo tete adɔeɛ kɛseɛ no wɔ, deɛ wofiri wo nokorɛdie mu de kaa ntam kyerɛɛ Dawid no?
Where, Lord, is your kindness of old, which you in your faithfulness swore to David?
50 Awurade kae sɛdeɛ wɔadi wo ɔsomfoɔ ho fɛ ne sɛdeɛ manya akoma ama amanaman no akutiabɔ.
Remember, O Lord, how your servants are mocked, how I bear in my heart the scorn of all nations
51 Ao Awurade, akutiabɔ a wʼatamfoɔ de adi fɛw, de adi deɛ woasra no ngo no anammɔntuo biara ho fɛw.
The scorn which your enemies hurl, O Lord, which they hurl at the footsteps of your anointed.
52 Ayɛyie nka Awurade daa!
Blest be the Lord, for ever and ever. Amen and Amen.
