For the music director. A psalm of Asaph. To the tune “Lilies of the Covenant.” Please hear us, Shepherd of Israel, you who lead the descendants of Joseph like a flock. You who sit on your throne above the cherubim, shine out

4 Ao Otumfoɔ Awurade Onyankopɔn, wʼabofuo bɛdɛre akɔsi da bɛn wʼabofuo a ɛtia wo nkurɔfoɔ mpaeɛbɔ no?
Lord God Almighty, how long will you be angry with the prayers of your people?
5 Wode nisuo yɛɛ aduane maa wɔn diiɛ; wode nisuo kuruwa ma ma wɔnomeeɛ.
You fed them with the bread of tears, and gave them a full bowl of tears to drink.
6 Woama yɛn mfɛfoɔ abu yɛn animtiaa, na yɛn atamfoɔ sere yɛn.
You turn us into victims our neighbors fight over; our enemies mock us.
7 Ao Otumfoɔ Onyankopɔn, gye yɛn bio; ma wʼanim nhyerɛn yɛn so, na wɔagye yɛn nkwa.
God Almighty, please restore us! Let your face shine on us so we can be saved!
8 Wode bobe firi Misraim baeɛ; wopamoo amanaman no na woduaaɛ.
You carried us out of Egypt like a vine. You drove out the heathen nations, and then you planted the vine.
9 Wosiesiee asase no baabi maa no, ɛgyee nhini na ɛtrɛɛ asase no so.
You prepared the ground for the vine. It took root and filled the land.
10 Ne nwunu kataa mmepɔ no so ne mman kataa ntweneduro akɛseɛ no so.
The mountains were covered by its shade; its branches covered the great cedars.
11 Ɛdendanee kɔɔ Ɛpo so, na ɛfefɛ kɔduruu Asubɔnten no ho.
It sent its branches as far west as the Mediterranean Sea, and its shoots as far east as the Euphrates River.
12 Adɛn enti na woabubu nʼafasuo ama wɔn a wɔtwam hɔ tete ne bobe aba no?
So why have you broken down the walls that protect it so that everyone who passes by can steal its fruit?
13 Kɔkɔte firi wiram bɛsɛe no pasaa na mmoadoma a ɛwɔ ɛserɛ so de yɛ wɔn aduane.
Wild pigs from the forest eat it, wild animals feed on it.
14 Ao Otumfoɔ Onyankopɔn, sane bra yɛn nkyɛn! Firi soro hɔ hwɛ na wobɛhunu! Hwɛ saa bobe yi so,
God Almighty, please return to us! Look down from heaven and see what's happening to us! Come and care for this vine

that you planted yourself, this son that you brought up yourself.
16 Wɔatwa wo bobe no ato fam, ato mu ogya ama ahye; wʼanimka ma wo nkurɔfoɔ ase tɔre.
We, your vine, have been chopped down and burned. May those who did this die when you glare at them.
17 Fa wo nsa kata ɔbarima a ɔwɔ wo nifa no so, onipa ba a woatete no ama wo ho no.
Protect the man who stands beside you; strengthen the son you have chosen.
18 Afei yɛrentwe yɛn ho mfiri wo nkyɛn; kanyane yɛn, na yɛbɛbɔ wo din.
Then we will not turn away from you. Revive us so we can pray to you.
19 Ao Otumfoɔ Awurade Onyankopɔn, gye yɛn bio, na ma wʼanim nhyerɛn yɛn so, na wɔagye yɛn nkwa. Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ sɛ wɔnto sɛ “gittit” sankuo nne so.
Lord God Almighty, please restore us! Let your face shine on us so we can be saved.
