1 Dawid dwom. Ao Awurade, yɛn Awurade, wo din kɛseyɛ ada adi ewiase afanan nyinaa. Wode wʼanimuonyam atimtim ɔsoro nohoa,
“To the chief musician upon Gittith, a psalm of David.” O Eternal One our Lord, how excellent is thy name on all the earth! thou who hast set thy majesty above the heavens.
2 mmɔfra ne nkɔkoaa mpo de wɔn ano kamfo wo, wʼatamfoɔ nti; na wode bɔ atamfoɔ ne weretɔfoɔ ano.
Out of the mouth of babes and sucklings hast thou founded [thy] might, because of thy opponents, that thou mightest bring to silence the enemy and him that seeketh vengeance.
3 Sɛ mehwɛ wo soro, wo nsateaa ano adwuma; ɔsrane ne nsoromma a wode obiara asi nʼafa a,
When I behold thy heavens, the work of thy fingers, the moon and the stars, which thou hast established: —
4 onipa ne hwan a wokae no, na onipa ba nso ne hwan a wʼani ku ne ho?
What is the mortal, that thou rememberest him? and the son of man, that thou thinkest of him:
5 Wobɔɔ no ma ɔyɛɛ akumaa kakra sene abɔfoɔ na wode wʼanimuonyam ne anidie abɔ no abotire.
Yet thou hast made him but a little less than angels, and hast crowned him with honor and glory.
6 Woyɛɛ no sodifoɔ maa wo nsa ano adwuma wode nneɛma nyinaa ahyɛ ne nan ase:
Thou hast given him dominion over the works of thy hands; every thing hast thou placed beneath his feet:
7 nnwankuo ne nantwikuo nyinaa ne wiram mmoa nso,
Flocks and herds altogether, and also the beasts of the field;
8 ewiem nnomaa ne ɛpo mu mpataa, deɛ ɛnenam ɛpo mu akwan so nyinaa.
The birds of heaven, and the fishes of the sea, whatsoever passeth through the paths of the seas.
9 Ao, Awurade, yɛn Awurade, wo din yɛ kɛseɛ wɔ asase nyinaa so! Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ. Wɔto no sɛdeɛ wɔto “Ɔba no wuo”.
O Eternal One our Lord, how excellent is thy name on all the earth!
