< Nnwom 79 >
1 Asaf dwom. Ao Onyankopɔn, amanaman no ato ahyɛ wʼagyapadeɛ so; wɔagu wʼasɔredan kronkron no ho fi, wɔama Yerusalem adane mmubuiɛ.
A Melody of Asaph. O God, nations, Have entered thine inheritance, Have profaned thy holy temple, —Have laid Jerusalem in heaps:
2 Wɔde wʼasomfoɔ afunu ayɛ aduane ama ewiem nnomaa, na wɔde wʼahotefoɔ ɛnam ama asase so mmoa.
They have given, The dead bodies of thy servants, As food for the birds of the heavens, The flesh of thy men of lovingkindness, Unto the wild beast of the earth:
3 Wɔahwie mogya agu te sɛ nsuo wɔ Yerusalem ho nyinaa, na obiara nni hɔ a ɔbɛsie awufoɔ no.
They have poured out their blood like water, Round about Jerusalem, With none to bury.
4 Yɛayɛ animtiabudeɛ ama yɛn mfɛfoɔ, fɛdie ne nsopa ama wɔn a atwa yɛn ho ahyia.
We have become, A reproach to our neighbours, —A mockery and a derision, to them who are round about us.
5 Ao Awurade, ɛnkɔsi da bɛn? Wo bo bɛfu afebɔɔ anaa? Wo ninkunu bɛdɛre sɛ ogya akɔsi da bɛn?
How long, O Yahweh, wilt thou be angry utterly? Shall thy jealousy, burn like fire?
6 Hwie wʼabofuo gu amanaman a wɔnni woɔ no so, ahennie a wɔmmɔ wo din no;
Pour out thy wrath, Upon the nations that have not known thee—and, Upon the kingdoms that, on thy Name, have not called.
7 ɛfiri sɛ wɔakum Yakob na wɔasɛe nʼatenaeɛ.
For he hath devoured Jacob, —And, his dwelling-place, have they laid waste.
8 Mfa yɛn agyanom bɔne so asotwe mma yɛn; ma wo mmɔborɔhunu mmra yɛn so ntɛm, na yɛwɔ ahohiahia mu.
Do not remember against us former iniquities, —Haste thee, let thy compassions, come to meet us, For we have been brought very low!
9 Ao Onyankopɔn yɛn Agyenkwa, boa yɛn, wo din no animuonyam nti; gye yɛn na fa yɛn bɔne kyɛ yɛn wo din enti.
Help us, O God of our salvation, on account of the glory of thy Name, —Rescue us then, and put a propitiatory-covering over our sins, For the sake of thy Name.
10 Adɛn enti na ɛsɛ sɛ amanaman ka sɛ, “Wɔn Onyankopɔn wɔ he?” Yɛn anim ha ara, ma wɔnhunu wɔ amanaman mu sɛ wotɔ wʼasomfoɔ mogya a wɔahwie agu no so werɛ.
Wherefore should the nations say—Where is their God? Let him be known among the nations before our eyes! [Yea! By] the avenging of the blood of thy servants which hath been shed!
11 Ma nneduafoɔ no apinisie nnuru wʼanim; fa wo basa ahoɔden no kora wɔn a wɔabu wɔn kumfɔ no.
Let the groaning of the prisoner, come in before thee, —According to the greatness of thine arm, Set free them who are appointed to death.
12 Ao Awurade, ahohora a yɛn mfɛfoɔ asum agu wo soɔ no, tua wɔn so ka mprɛnson.
Return, therefore, unto our neighbours—Sevenfold, into their own bosom, The reproach wherewith they have reproached thee, O Adonay!
13 Na yɛn a yɛyɛ wo nkurɔfoɔ, wʼadidibea nnwan no, bɛyi wo ayɛ daa nyinaa; ɛfiri awoɔ ntoatoasoɔ kɔsi awoɔ ntoatoasoɔ yɛbɛkɔ so aka wʼayɛyie akyerɛ. Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ sɛ wɔnto no “Sonannim Edut” sankuo nne so.
So, we, thy people, and the sheep of thy pasture, will give thanks unto thee, to times age-abiding, —To generation after generation, will we recount thy praise.
