< Nnwom 69 >
1 Dawid dwom. Ao Onyankopɔn, gye me nkwa na nsuo no abɛdeda me kɔn mu.
To the Overseer. — 'On the Lilies,' by David. Save me, O God, for come have waters unto the soul.
2 Meremem wɔ atɛkyɛ a emu dɔ mu, wɔ baabi a me nan nnya siberɛ. Maduru subunu mu na nsuo abu afa me so.
I have sunk in deep mire, And there is no standing, I have come into the depths of the waters, And a flood hath overflown me.
3 Mafrɛ mabrɛ sɛ mepɛ mmoa. Me mene mu awe. Mʼani so ayɛ kusuu, na merehwehwɛ me Onyankopɔn.
I have been wearied with my calling, Burnt hath been my throat, Consumed have been mine eyes, waiting for my God.
4 Wɔn a wɔtane me kwa no dɔɔso sene me tiri so nwi; wɔn a wɔtane me kwa no dɔɔso, wɔn a wɔhwehwɛ sɛ wɔbɛsɛe me no. Wɔhyɛ me sɛ mennane deɛ menwiaaɛ no mma.
Those hating me without cause Have been more than the hairs of my head, Mighty have been my destroyers, My lying enemies, That which I took not away — I bring back.
5 Ao Onyankopɔn, wonim me kwasea a mayɛ; mʼafɔdie nhintaa wo.
O God, Thou — Thou hast known Concerning my overturn, And my desolations from Thee have not been hid.
6 Mma wɔn a wɔde wɔn ho to wo so no anim ngu ase ɛsiane me enti, Ao Awurade, Asafo Awurade; mma wɔn a wɔhwehwɛ wo no anim ngu ase me enti, Ao Israel Onyankopɔn.
Let not those waiting on Thee be ashamed because of me, O Lord, Jehovah of Hosts, Let not those seeking Thee Blush because of me, O God of Israel.
7 Wo enti wobu me animtiaa, na aniwuo akata mʼanim.
For because of Thee I have borne reproach, Shame hath covered my face.
8 Mete sɛ ɔhɔhoɔ wɔ me nuanom mu, mete sɛ ɔmamfrani wɔ me maame mmammarima mu,
A stranger I have been to my brother, And a foreigner to sons of my mother.
9 na wo fie ho mmɔdemmɔ hyɛ me so, wɔn a wɔbɔ wo ahohora no animtiabuo abɛda me so.
For zeal for Thy house hath consumed me, And the reproaches of Thy reproachers Have fallen upon me.
10 Sɛ metwa adwo na medi mmuada a wɔbɔ me ahohora;
And I weep in the fasting of my soul, And it is for a reproach to me.
11 sɛ mefira ayitoma a nnipa de me yɛ aseredeɛ.
And I make my clothing sackcloth, And I am to them for a simile.
12 Wɔn a wɔtete ɛpono no ano no sere me, na akɔwensafoɔ de me din to dwom.
Those sitting at the gate meditate concerning me, And those drinking strong drink, Play on instruments.
13 Nanso mɛbɔ wo mpaeɛ, Ao Awurade, wɔ wʼadom berɛ mu; wɔ wʼadɔeɛ kɛseɛ no enti, Ao Onyankopɔn, fa wo nokorɛ nkwagyeɛ no gye me so.
And I — my prayer [is] to Thee, O Jehovah, A time of good pleasure, O God, In the abundance of Thy kindness, Answer me in the truth of Thy salvation.
14 Yi me firi atɛkyɛ no mu, mma memmem wɔ mu; gye me firi wɔn a wɔtane me no nsam, ne nsu bunu mu.
Deliver me from the mire, and let me not sink, Let me be delivered from those hating me, And from deep places of waters.
15 Mma nsuo nnyiri mfa me anaa ebunu mmene me anaa amena nkata me so.
Let not a flood of waters overflow me, Nor let the deep swallow me up, Nor let the pit shut her mouth upon me.
16 Ao Awurade, gye me so firi wʼadɔeɛ a ɛyɛ no mu; wʼadom enti, dane bɛhwɛ me.
Answer me, O Jehovah, for good [is] Thy kindness, According to the abundance Of Thy mercies turn Thou unto me,
17 Mfa wʼanim nhinta wo ɔsomfoɔ; gye me so ntɛm, na mewɔ ɔhaw mu.
And hide not Thy face from Thy servant, For I am in distress — haste, answer me.
18 Twi bɛn me na gye me; gye me nkwa, mʼatamfoɔ enti.
Be near unto my soul — redeem it, Because of mine enemies ransom me.
19 Wonim sɛdeɛ wɔkasa tia me, gu mʼanim ase na wɔtiatia mʼanim; wʼani tua mʼatamfoɔ nyinaa.
Thou — Thou hast known my reproach, And my shame, and my blushing, Before Thee [are] all mine adversaries.
20 Kasatia ahyɛ mʼakoma so ama mayɛ sɛ obi a ɔnni ɔboafoɔ; mepɛɛ awerɛkyekyerɛ nanso mannya bi, mepɛɛ ɔwerɛkyekyefoɔ, nanso manhunu bi.
Reproach hath broken my heart, and I am sick, And I look for a bemoaner, and there is none, And for comforters, and I have found none.
21 Wɔde bɔnwoma guu mʼaduane mu, osukɔm dee me no, wɔmaa me nsã nwononwono.
And they give for my food gall, And for my thirst cause me to drink vinegar.
22 Ma wɔn didipono a ɛsi wɔn anim nyi wɔn sɛ afidie; ma ɛnyɛ akatua ne afidie mma wɔn.
Their table before them is for a snare, And for a recompence — for a trap.
23 Ma wɔn ani so nyɛ wɔn kusuu na wɔanhunu adeɛ, na ma wɔn akyi nkuntunu afebɔɔ.
Darkened are their eyes from seeing, And their loins continually shake Thou.
24 Hwie wʼabufuhyeɛ gu wɔn so; na ma wʼabofuo huuhuuhu no mmra wɔn so.
Pour upon them Thine indignation, And the fierceness of Thine anger doth seize them.
25 Ma wɔn atenaeɛ nyɛ amamfo; mma obiara ntena wɔn ntomadan mu.
Their tower is desolated, In their tents there is no dweller.
26 Wɔtaa wɔn a wopira wɔn no, wɔka wɔn a wopira wɔn no amanehunu ho asɛm.
For they have pursued him Thou hast smitten, And recount of the pain of Thy pierced ones.
27 Fa amumuyɛ mu amumuyɛ ho soboɔ bɔ wɔn; mma wɔnnya wo nkwagyeɛ mu kyɛfa.
Give punishment for their iniquity, And they enter not into Thy righteousness.
28 Pepa wɔn din firi nkwa nwoma no mu, mfa wɔn din nka ateneneefoɔ deɛ ho.
They are blotted out of the book of life, And with the righteous are not written.
29 Mewɔ ɔyea ne ahohiahia mu; Ao Onyankopɔn, ma wo nkwagyeɛ no mmɔ me ho ban.
And I [am] afflicted and pained, Thy salvation, O God, doth set me on high.
30 Mede dwomtoɔ bɛyi Onyankopɔn din ayɛ na mede aseda ahyɛ no animuonyam.
I praise the name of God with a song, And I magnify Him with thanksgiving,
31 Yei bɛsɔ Awurade ani yie asene nantwie, asene nantwinini a ɔtua mmɛn na ɔwɔ tɔte.
And it is better to Jehovah than an ox, A bullock — horned — hoofed.
32 Mmɔborɔni bɛhunu na nʼani agye, mo a mohwehwɛ Onyankopɔn no akoma bɛnya nkwa.
The humble have seen — they rejoice, Ye who seek God — and your heart liveth.
33 Awurade tie wɔn a adeɛ ahia wɔn, na ɔmmu ne nkurɔfoɔ nneduafoɔ animtiaa.
For Jehovah hearkeneth unto the needy, And His bound ones He hath not despised.
34 Ma ɔsoro ne asase nkamfo no, ɛpo ne deɛ ɛkeka ne ho wɔ mu nyinaa,
The heavens and earth do praise Him, Seas, and every moving thing in them.
35 ɛfiri sɛ Onyankopɔn bɛgye Sion nkwa na wakyekyere Yuda nkuropɔn no bio. Afei nnipa bɛtena mu na ayɛ wɔn dea;
For God doth save Zion, And doth build the cities of Judah, And they have dwelt there, and possess it.
36 Nʼasomfoɔ asefoɔ na wɔbɛfa hɔ, na wɔn a wɔdɔ ne din no bɛtena hɔ. Wɔde ma dwomkyerɛfoɔ.
And the seed of His servants inherit it, And those loving His name dwell in it!
